It’s that time of year again. Yeah, I’m getting another year older. That means it’s time for another birthday gallery. I invite anyone and everyone (but especially lovely ladies) to snap a picture or ten with or without birthday greetings to be included in this year’s birthday gallery. I will add a banner and/or link to any pictures as a thank you.

It’s That Time Again

That’s right folks, it’s almost the end of summer in an odd numbered year. That means it is time to pack up the Family Pipe for a week in Arizona. (Yeah, big spenders we.) As is customary, I will be recruiting some guest bloggers (and possibly reviewers) to keep the site filled with great stuff while I’m gone. In the past we have had a lot of fun with this thanks to some great friends and awesome writers.

This year’s vacation will be from August 16th to August 23rd. I will have internet access during that time and plan to update the site with some reviews and things, but the news and commentary section will be filled mostly with the guest bloggers.

One guest blogger is already lined up and you guys already know what she can do. Tina Tyler has committed to not just one guest blog, but as many as one per day the whole time I’m gone. I can only hope that she doesn’t plan to take the site over completely. (Though if she did, the spelling would certainly improve dramatically.) Other than Tina, I have a number of invites out there. I don’t want to put anyone on the spot, but you  know I will.

In the past, Digital Playground, Cindi Loftus from www.LukeIsBack.com, Evil Angel and others have given us great guest blogs. (And to all listed above, consider this an invitation even before I email you.)

I am hoping to get a few female porn stars as well. A couple have said they would. (Not to jinx anything, but AA and AS ring a bell?)

The 2009 FAME Awards are entering the final voting phase. Voting is going on now with the winners announced at the FAME Awards Show on June 13th at Erotica LA.

Here is the list of top rookies and the usual names are here. Stoya and Tori Black have been virtually neck and neck for every new girl award porn has to give out. They are up against a couple of big name Vivid Girls who might get in the way of another Stoya victory. Nikki Jayne and Meggan Mallone could put up some good numbers. This really seems like a top heavy list. You have the two heavy hitters, Digital Playground’s new cutie Riley Steele, the two Vivid Girls and then a handful of girls who are hot, but don’t’ have a shot in hell. If I’m betting on this, I put my money on Stoya to beat Meggan with Tori as a long shot. Remember this a popularity contest and raincoaters generally don’t rule the day. If they did, Tori would probably be a shoe-in.

Look at some of the great women who didn’t make it this far. Allie Foster, Andi Anderson, Asa Akira, Angelina Armani, Jandi Lin, Priya Rai, and Kristina Rose to name just a few. I know it’s a popularity thing, but why haven’t more people seen Andi and Asa. Damn they are so freaking hot.

Does this mean that you’re going to retire? If so how do I apply to take over for you while you pack up and head to Florida?

Before I get to my final note I want to take a moment to list some other names that I feel should be considered for the Hall of Fame. These people show up on my ballot and even if they are hate me for this I am going to list a few of them here. Den, Dirty Bob, Gene Ross and Tod Hunter. These men have taught me much over the years and have contributed a great deal to our industry. Each is a talented writer and I would hope that other XRCO voters will keep them in mind on future HoF ballots. (And please, let’s not forget about Bridgette Monroe. She is a stunning woman who starred in many of her era’s finest movies and then returned as one of the first cougars long before we even had a name for them.)

Most of this is very tongue in cheek and I hope that comes across. I do take the XRCO very seriously though. A few years ago when they asked me to become a member I was floored. It was such an honor to be included. This was an organization that represented the very best in the field and to be one of the first “on-line” critics to be included is something I will always treasure. When they asked me to be a member it never even crossed my mind that I might one day be inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame. This means more to me than I can say so I will simply say thanks. Thanks to all of the XRCO members who included me, have supported my efforts and finally included me on a Hall of Fame ballot. I am humbled by your kindness and have learned so much from those who came before me. Thanks also to the critics who work so hard to keep readers informed. We have all come a long way in the past decade, but those of us who have called the net home from the start have been included in the process for a while now. I think that the state of adult journalism is better for it. I know that fans of adult entertainment are happy to have so many honest, independent voices to choose from. Thanks to the readers who choose to visit my site, put up with the grammatical errors, ‘lame’ pop culture references and unabashed opinions that I bring to the table. You honor me every day by taking the time to read my site and contribute to the discussion.
