Okay, now first I know many are saying who is Wayne Allwine and second, why, it's not haunt related.

Well, many of us haunters grew up with a love of halloween, haunting and so on and how many of us just love the Haunted Mansion or some of the classic Mickey Mouse Halloween Cartoon Shorts? In some way many of us haunters have been inspired by Disney. And I personally being a Disney fan felt I needed to pay tribute to only the thrid person to ever give life to Mickey Mouse. RIP Wayne Allwine.

Mickey Mouse is an American icon and even to us haunters brings joy to us with the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween at the parks, or having the RFR Dark Princess watch the Mickey's Halloween Specials and Cartoon shorts or even many queue lines...

Halfway to Halloween 2009 recap as written in the Lake County Paper.

Hundreds of Haunted House owners descended on Milwaukee for their annual trek that marks the halfway point to Halloween. HAuNTcon (Haunted Attraction National Trade Show and Convention) held last week in Milwaukee found a bevy of haunted house owners from around the world in attendance searching for the newest way to scare people out of their skin.

According to Tim and Anne Marie Gavinski who own and operate the Wisconsin Feargrounds, individuals from New Zealand, Hong Kong and Great Britain, as well as major theme parks such as Universal Studios, Busch Gardens and Six Flags were in attendance.

So, what do they do at a haunted house convention? They attend seminars on a variety of topics from consumer trends to the latest in monster mud. They take all-day classes on safety for their events such as the Certified Haunted Attraction Owners Safety Seminar or CHAOS for short which is taught by the International Association of Haunted Attractions, www.IAHAWEB.com, and thankfully they pump a lot of money into the economy of the host city from this billion-dollar boo business.

Most importantly, said Tim, they visit other haunted houses. As you may imagine, it is difficult for individuals who operate a haunted attraction to visit other haunted houses during October because they are literally too busy running their own events, and when they travel to a convention and trade show, the appeal for many is to see haunted houses in the host city.

A total of 13 haunted houses opened their doors during this convention which began with a pre-convention tour of attractions in the state. Visitors traveled to Hartford to see Terror on Rural Street and then to the Wisconsin Dells to see the newest addition to Noah's Ark water park "Curse of the Crypt" and finished the first day at one of the country's premier attractions, Terror on the Fox in Green Bay. The following morning they headed south toward Milwaukee and the official opening of the convention, but on the way they made one last stop to Sheboygan's "Dominion of Terror."
