i don't think anyone reads this anymore, but i'll go ahead and update it anyway. i'm at my brother's house house/dog-sitting and copying cds onto my itunes. i had to take my contacts out because my eyes were killing me, but i left my glasses at home. oops. so i'm squinting my way through this post.

biggest news right now - i'm moving to san francisco at the end of the month. it's too late to change my mind now because daisy's already found a replacement for my room, and most of my stuff is already in boxes. all i need now are a place to live and a new job. hm. this is proving to be slightly more difficult than i thought, but i still have faith (and a few weeks). i'm really scared, but i'm also really excited, and i hope i'm making a good decision by making the move. i mean, when am i going to get the chance to do this, and i'm certainly not getting any younger.

the plan is to drive cross-country in 3.5 days, so unfortunately we can't take out time and have as much fun as i'd like, but it'll still be fun, i hope. i haven't gotten to spend much alone time with daisy lately because she's been busy with work, going on vacations, and occupied by other people/things, and since i'm moving, it'll be a long time again before i get to do that. i'm hoping it'll be a good roadtrip.

anyway. just hanging out with allie now. i won't be seeing her for a while either, so i better enjoy my time with her now.

not much to report, as usual. chinese new year came and went. i cooked and cooked, and we ate and ate. and it was even a partially halal-chinese new year. not too shabby.

i've been sick for about a week now and it sucks. i'm totally done with being sick.

that's about it for now. check out some pictures:

saw spoon in concert last night with daisy and t. was fun, except for the really tall guys in front of me blocking my view, and the old man right in front of me moving his head around and pushing back so much that i could feel the rolled up newspaper and book in his back pockets. who does that?

anyway, pics are on my photo blog...

i'm in new jersey this week for training... fun stuff...

the girl next to me on the flight down almost puked. she was holding the paper bag and everything.

then i shared a shuttle to the hotel with an old couple who offered the driver and me cheese curds.

and so far my roommate hasn't shown up. i'll leave the door unlocked tonight, but if she's not here in the morning - woo!

this past week was fun with all the bday celebrations - thanks to all!

my sentence is almost up. fly home friday night, fly out to SF saturday morning. ah, i can't wait to shop and eat until i pass out. i. can't. wait.

it's almost that time of year again - fried chicken and peeing with the door open. y'all ready?

happy chinese new year, all!

daisy and i rang in the new year with plenty of food and friends. heck, we even stayed up past midnight! here's the menu:

*rice porridge
*pork with long string beans
-soy sauce chicken
-fatty pork with crispy skin (not sure what it's really called, but it's about 45% pork meat, 45% pork fat, and 5% crispy pork skin. it is awesome)
*chinese radish cakes
-crisped up sticky rice smuggled in from texas
*steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce
-dumplings
*chinese broccoli
-tsing tao and tea

i think that was it... and that was only about 2/3 of what we originally planned to cook. don't worry, there were 10 others helping me eat. i'll cook the chow fun noodles tonight to have with the leftovers from last night.

*homemade by yours truly

-saw a mouse at work last week (ewwww)
-had to jump start my car 3x in the past week
-went ice skating on a pond for the first time

that's about it. or at least that's all i can remember for now.

today daisy is baking in providence competing for a spot on the USA team to bake at the coupe du monde de boulangerie in gay paris in 2008. i'm stuck in the armpit of america, so i can't be her personal photographer for the day, but hopefully we'll be celebrating tonight when i fly to rhode island.

i don't have cable at home, and since i've been living in hotel rooms for the past 2 weeks i'm trying to catch up on "modern" music. unfortunately the only music channel at my current hotel is vh1, and for the past few days i've caught weird al's "white and nerdy" video. it's pretty funny (or maybe it's just b/c i can relate), and i've got it stuck in my head now. crap.

good day, sir.
