Hello to all of you who are kindly still coming around to our page. I (Paul) just wanted to take a minute and tell you that we miss all of you, and in one way or another, we are living well and still pursuing musical interests.

You can check out my new band Rosiere @ www.myspace.com/rosieremusic. We playing a lighter style of progessive rock and you might recognize us from some other local bands (EIV, Piano Black). New things should be happening in 2009 so stay tuned.

Matt is playing bass and doing back up vocals for The Apathy Eulogy, www.myspace.com/theapathyeulogy who have new music and a real solid show. They have established themselves all over the east coast and should be headed for big things.

Auggie is working on a project with ex members of Arcacia and xLookingForwardx playing melodic punk/hardcore and he is getting married in June of 2009. So please congratulate him, and we wish him the best of luck as always.

Cory has been playing with the drumline @ University of Maryland and is working on a rock/jazz project with some close friends.

You can help support our music endeavors by keeping in touch and purchasing any Saravain tunes you might enjoy online. Thanks for your continuous support and I hope you check out some of our new stuff and come out to see us again sometime in the new year. Take care everyone.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------

After a year of ups and down, our final release entitled "On Foundations" is finished and set to release on June 14th 2008. Both the CD and the show will include our original vocalist/bassist Matt. On that note, we would like to thank both Nick (on vocals) and Will (on bass) for their dedication to the band these past few months.

The show will include some of our close friends from far and near. We are only pressing 100 copies of the CD for the occasion so there is a chance they will sell out. All remaining merch will be very cheap and everyone will receieve a free copy of our first self titled album (just ask). You will be able to stream the new cd one week prior to the show and from then on it will be available online through a number of vendors.

With that said, this will be it. The four of us set out last summer to record an album that was 3 years in the making and is something we are extremely proud of. Since then we have experience several changes in our personal lives and goals as musicians. While it won't be easy, we have officially decided to end Saravain on a note that we can all be proud of. You can have no doubt that music is in our hearts and most of us will continue to pursue what we love and get back to rocking out as soon as possible.

Thank you all. It has been an incredible ride and we have achieved and experienced things that will never forget. We hope to see you all at the final show and anywhere else music takes us.

The Winter Killed the Velocirap-Tour / Bro-down Tour '08 Blog
with Saravain, Ready theWay, and the Comeback Tour

Day one of tour, which we were really excited for, was cancelled due to family problems within RTW and food poisoning in Grey Lines.  We left with RTW on day 2 to southern Jersey. Salem, NJ. was a friendly church venue where we met our newest friends The Comeback Tour for the first time and rocked out for a good crowd. All 3 bands headed back to MD to stay the night and we left on day 3 to Frederick, MD.

The Mudd Puddle was a sweet 'indie' coffee shop in a clean and quiet town in Frederick where a ton of kids showed up, squeezed in a small room, and watched a handful of bands rock out on the floor. It was extremely intimate, hot, and fun. At this point our newest shirt came. In too, and we were very excited. A 3 hour drive into the South lead us to Richmond, VA. where 8 of us stayed with Brandon of RTW.

Day 4 was a day off due to previous problems within RTW so we hung in Richmond @ Sam Ash, Guitar Center, malls, and fast food. The night ended with movies and Brandon's mother's cheesy meat casserole.

Day 5 in Burlington we arrived early and hung out in an epic Wal-mart and then rocked out with Aniston and Love and Reverie from VA. The Raven was a cool (Ottobar-esque) bar venue where rocked out for a handful of kids on a Tuesday night. We missed the Comeback Tour that night but met up with them again the next night.

In NC we stayed crammed into small rooms with Aaron from My Epic, his 5 roommates, and dog Thor. Aaron is great guy (and has an amazing band) and we did a lot of talking and went to another 'indie' deli in Charlotte. Finally we headed out to Greenville, SC. and arrived at The Unknown after suffering a half hour of RTW van stalling out, and questioning whether it would work the next day. We had a great time with the bands and continued to grow closer to each other, making the best of every situation. And Divide the Sea topped off the night with one of the most brutal southern rock shows ever witnessed.

Day 7 we drove back North, into the night, through windy mountain roads, and 4.5 hours towards Nashville, leaving our bros RTW behind to figure things out with their van. We left a nice clean hotel room @ 11am and made our way to Nashville in lots of rain and fog. We arrived at the city 5 hours early (we were excited to explore) and were caught in a downpour while trying to walk to find food. We got into the venue early and ended up drying all our clothes with a hair dryer while waiting out the storm and potential tornado watch. A ton of kids showed up as well as Haley from Paramore to hang with friends in Conditions. It was a great venue and night. We topped it off with a 24 hour diner and some sleep at Jessi's house nearby.

Day 8 we drove 5 hours to Indiana where we lost an hour and passed through Kentucky, Dinosaur Land, Caverns, Caves, and Adult stores galore. We paid $2.85 for gas and ended up at The Gear just in time. Another great crowd came and we made a couple new friends. We left @ 12:30am without watching the last band and still ended up at Auggie's uncle's house at 2:30 and fell right asleep.

We had a great rest and clean showers while spending the afternoon in this huge house playing rock band and call of duty on a big screen. It was well deserved relaxation. Our show was an hour away from Cincinnati at The Warehouse. We drained our battery with the GPS overnight so we spent a while fixing the car and finally made it to the venue on time. The crowd slowly piled in and kids where running around, skateboarding, and rocking out. It was a crazy fun show and a great way to top off the last days of tour. We proceeded to make the 8 hour drive from OH to VA through the night, stopping only for gas. This was crazy and tiring.

After watching the sun come up we finally made it to VA for the last day of tour and 14 of us crashed in the dorm rooms at Liberty in Lynchburg. We slept all the day up until diner time where we ate at Sonic for the first time and they were incredibly rude. On the 10 minute drive to the venue our carrier top lid flew off on the highway, but no one was hurt. Funny. Ready the Way packed a small venue in their hometown with a bunch of kids and we had another great show to end on. We took some video and said some goodbyes before we made our 5 hour trip back home through the night.

Saravain would like to thank each and every kid who came to see us whether or not they had heard of us or even liked our music. We would like to thank all the venues who where incredibly friendly and hospitable. Thanks to Aaron, Jessi, the Whitt's, and the Plitt's for giving us a place to sleep. Most of all, thanks to Ready the Way and The Comeback Tour for being incredible people, musicians, and friends. We were extremely lucky to experience this with you guys and we will never forget it.

Hope to see every one of you again. You've all been great.

Saturday, November 17, 2007

Hello all. First off, thanks so much for checking us out, and sticking by us through recent changes. Here is an update on Saravain.

Our newest CD was recorded this summer and soon thereafter our long-time singer and bass player Matt (now with Emilia) had decided to part ways with the band. We began a search for new members and about that time our good friends in Sorry for the Silence had decided to disband… no way were we about to do the same. We invited their bassist/vocalist Will to join the band so we could get back on our feet and re-think the CD. More recently, Will brought to our attention the musical stylings of ex-SFTS singer Nick. Nick and Will have brought a lot of new perspective to the band and it's been a great match for the three of us. We've decided that we couldn't have found some cooler dudes and we would love to have them be a part of Saravain. This is where we're at today.

We are set to go back to recording in December, and we hope to finally press our CD by the time Winter Tour rolls around. (Also note: our current songs are from the upcoming cd, but include our old singer). The recent events have forced us all to work harder as a group and individually; seeing things in a new and exciting way. We are EXTREMEMLY EXCITED for the future and we can't wait for everyone to hear the new and improved sound. We will continue to work hard and play for new people who will hopefully enjoy our new music as much as we do.

Again, thank you all for being incredible and showing support during these last few months. We're thrilled to be able to keep Saravain together and bring the rock once again (:

OFFICIAL SARAVAIN TIMELINE

November 2003
Auggie joined us (Paul, Cory and Matt) to play bass in our pop-punk band, Redfield. Over the next year, we wrote new songs and changed our style.

July 2004
By this time, Auggie had moved to guitar and Matt was back on bass, still singing. Our style had become a mixture of pop-punk, emo and hardcore. We were the first band to be signed to Bury Your Hero Records, a local label who offered to release our debut album.

September 2004
We finished writing ten new songs and took six days to record our first album at Claycreek Studios in Delaware.

November, 2004
We released the album under a new band name—Saravain.

August 2005
We got to play the D.C. date of Vans Warped Tour.

June 2007
After years of shows and writing, we recorded ten new tracks with Paul Leavitt of Valencia Studios for our sophomore album.

July 2007
Matt decided to leave the band due to various personal reasons. This forced us to put the CD release on hold, and we went in search of a new bassist and singer.

September 2007
Will Green joined us as our new bassist.

November 2007
Nick Nadeau made Saravain a five piece, coming in as lead vocalist.

Now and the Future
We have been revamping our songs lyrically and plan to re-record the vocals by the end of January. From January 4th through 14th, we are going on tour with Ready the Way and The Comeback Tour. The CD will be released in a few months. . . we promise.

New CD Music and Lyrics

Here are the lyrics to a couple of our new songs you might know. Enjoy (:

"Phantoms of the Dance Floor"
I am aware, fully aware, of how hard it must be for you. No sounds composed. Only signs left of your presence. This is the feeling within that makes me tremble. Honest, I can't face this one fear. Open my mouth and tell you how you came to be. I guess this goes to show how we've become. We played it off so easily. These last few nights, reflection-less. Reflect on thoughts I've grown to miss and try and understand myself. Last night I thought I saw the eyes that haunted me so seductively. What I see never bothered me. Show yourself and I'll prove to them this is real. Apparition, you don't know what your missing. You are here with me. Hidden in the air that I breath. Your a ghost, and it's cold inside. Waiting patiently and staring through the glass back at me. This timing is perfect. I couldn't ask for anything more for you to present to me. But this is new to me. A gift that I had asked for since the day you went and buried your sorry self in my backyard. Coeincidentally I have planned this for awhile.

"War Cry"
In over my head. What am I fighting for? This job demands a callous heart. This is something I've debated for so long. We mobilize into the horizon. All is fair in love and war, so I'm armed and ready. Medication will keep you still. Hesitation will get you killed. You go first, I'll watch your back. Throw all your feelings aside-by side we bare the weight of friends in pain. The flares will lead us home safely. War cry! I can't believe my eyes.

"In Recent Headlines"
Waiting patiently for silence while her makeup is applied. Descending from her bedroom window with the sheets securely tied. Something deep down is telling her that this could be the night. Arriving at the front door she is met by two blue eyes. They waste away for one too many hours and now his vision is blurred. She never heard her conscience warning her. Crack the bedroom door they find an open window and nothing more. Filled with anger, but mostly fear. They grab their coats and pray shes safe. Breathe in. The night air is sedative. She peers at his unconsciousness. She has never been so frightened. She braces for impact. She braces for a crash. Step back! I think I see her breathing... despite that fact that she's broken from head to toe. Slow pulse. Shaking. She's too unstable now. Will she make it? It's way too soon to tell. Glass tears their lungs. Will they wake up? Memories of life flashing before her eyes. Hemoraged inside. It's too late to save here life. Flatlines and headlights. They'll sleep forever tonight. Lying in their beds, next to her, was the family. Little did she know they were driving on that same street. Her appologies weren't heard; they came just way to late. And she'll never know they were part of this tragic fate.

"The Moon is a Catalyst"
I said it every time, how I wish that you were right. I've never had the priveledge or the benefit of doubt. I notice changes. The moon embraces all the instincts that are destined to be apart of me. Lingering subconsciously. Chain me down. Hold me back. Back away slowly.  I fear that I'm turning into something I can't love anymore. A secret that I've worked to conceal from everyone. Now I know there's a killer in me. It's about time to look away. No one should have to be afraid of who they are inside. Eyes are wider, teeth are sharper, moving faster, keep me far from you. Let's just hope you saved some silver from the last creature you knew. Please fend for yourself. I can't stop this now. I feel that I'm turning into something I can't love anymore. I'm not the man I used to be. I'll try my best to make up for this after sunrise.

"Architects"
We laid this foundation with something more stable, a new situation that if used correctly would only show off our craftsmanship to a new dedication to what we have grown to love. Originality won't be our last resort because you could say that finally we are content with this fort. The door is always open, we'll guard it with simple precaution. Choosing carefully who we let in. It seems like our allies are few and far. Let's start this off the right way. We'll take them by suprise.  We won't give in so easily. This frame will take on anything. It's not designed to fall.

This winter break has helped us complete a lot of writing, finalizing, and planning for our second full length CD which will be released this year. We would like to be in the studio and recording early this summer. As of now we are set for early June and are very excited to be working with our top choice for local recording and production: Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Senses Fail). We've recently decided on the CD title - "On Foundations" - and some related artwork ideas. Nothing is set in stone, but these are the details as of now.  Hopefully you all can come out to some shows and get a feel for the new material. We are extremely proud of the music we've created and we're confident this CD will be smarter, heavier, and better produced than the last, as well as embody everything we enjoy about making music.
