I dont even know if I should post this here or on my new facebook profile. I am debating whether I should make the switch from myspace to facebook.

Here is a list of movies I would like to see:

Children of Men
Little Miss Sunshine (well, the second half anyway)
Pan's Labyrinth
The Departed
Babel
The Pursuit of Happiness
The Queen
An Inconvenient Truth
Jesus Camp

Not only do these films interest me but they have also all been nominated for Oscars.
Check out the entire list of nominees at:

A couple of summers ago I splurged and bought a pair of sweet sunglasses. Dragon Rakes. They cost about $175. I loved those sunglasses. One day some friends and I went to Canada's Wonderland. For lunch we decided to head over to the McDonald's across the highway because it would be cheaper than eating in the park. We ate our lunches, (I got a Big Mac combo) then took our garbage to the garbage cans and headed out. I usually make it a habit to remove my hat and/or sunglasses when I eat and I had done so on that occasion as well. As I got to our car, I remembered that I had left my glasses and hat on the ledge in front of the window. I went back inside the restaurant and my glasses and hat were not where I left them. I asked around and no-one saw them.
About three months ago, I found another pair of Rakes on eBay and decided to buy them, after all, there wasn't anything wrong with the glasses, I just wasn't careful enough with the first pair. I won the auction and got the glasses for about a hundred bucks. Good deal. The glasses arrived in mint condition and I wore them proudly. At least I did until three days ago...
I went to Safeway in Moose Jaw and put my glasses in my fleece pocket where they would be safe, did my shopping and made my way to the checkout. As I was unloading the groceries from the shopping cart, I leaned up against the conveyor and heard a "snap" in my pocket. I didn't lean against the counter with all my weight and the glasses had never suffered any neglect prior to this, but they snapped in half. Literally. Right in half across the bridge of the glasses. I am looking into whether this would be considered a manufacturer's defect and whether it is covered by warranty. I'm pretty sure it is covered, or at least it is if MJ Industries is an Authorized Dragon Retailer. I hope so.
Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
Here's a pic for your viewing pleasure.

I read an article in the Saskatchewan Edition of the Anglican Journal written by The Right Reverend Gregory Kerr-Wilson in which he shared his opinion that New Year's Resolutions are wrong. Basically, his problem with resolutions is the fact that if you succeed you could be prone to pride and if you don't succeed, you could be prone to depression. While that may be true, I don't think that there is anything wrong with resolutions. I think that the risks of being prideful or too hard on ourselves are present in so many things in daily life. Take studying for an exam, or cooking dinner for some guests, or sharing a sermon in church. In each of these one might be prone to pride if they do very well, or to depression if they fail. Life is full of opportunities to succeed and just as much full of opportunities to fail, so is it appropriate to just give up because we don't want to risk becoming prideful. I don't think so. There is a risk of getting hit by a car when I walk to work in the morning, but it would be wrong if I let that risk stop me from living my life. I think that letting the fear of becoming prideful or depressed stop one from living their life is just as sinful as being prideful or depressed (is being depressed even a sin?). I don't feel that we are sinning when we resolve to change ourselves in the coming year. With that being said, here is my list:

-Lose Weight: Probably the most common resolution and the most recurring of my own resolutions, I would like to lose 40 pounds within the next 365 days. The plan: No more soda (diet or regular), No fast food, Excercise 3 times a week, Smaller portions, Eat breakfast every day.

-Learn a language: I have never resolved anything like this before, but I would like to either learn a new language or at least refresh the french that I have neglected since grade 8. I have thought about brushing up on my french for a while now and I am going to do it in the next 365 days.

-Read the Bible in its entirety: There are 1189 chapters in the Bible and if I read four chapters per day, it will take me 297 days.

-Read at least six books other than the bible: I have a lot of books that I havn't read. Honestly, I think its a shame and I would like to read at least six of them this year. I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but I am not a very fast reader and I want to set a goal that is attainable.

-Tithe at least 10%: I need to make an effort to give at least ten percent of my monthly earnings to the church.

-Save at leat 25%: By the end of 2007, I would like to have at least 25% of my past year's earnings put away in savings.

-Be more romantic

I think that's it for now. Let me know what you think.

SUPPOSEDLY if you've seen over 85 movies, you have no life (though being able to get out to see a movie seems like more of a life than not being able to get out to see a movie!). Nevertheless, mark the movies you have seen. Have fun!

I am such a nerd.
Monday, December 11, 2006
I have been working (or going to class, which is very much work-related) for 14 days straight, each day being a minimum of 8 hours, maximum of 12. I will be working for 6 more before I get a day off. I need a beer...errr...I mean break.

Monica and I have had and are still having the opportunity to serve 1020 people Turkey dinner over this weekend. It has gone very well so far. Lots of good feedback. We've got 360 more people to go. Wish us luck!

If your life were a soundtrack, what would the music be?

Here..s how it works:

1. Open your library (iTunes, winamp, media player, iPod).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that..s playing.
5. New question.. press the next button.
6. Don..t lie and try to pretend you..re cool.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is absolutely undenialbly true...Winter is HERE! ARRGGHHHH!
I even bought myself a new scarf today in *cough* excitement. We already have four inches of snow and tomorrow's high is -17 degrees celcius. Boo!
The good news is that I took yesterday off of work because I had a nasty head cold. Seriously, I felt like I was going to die. Yes, I know, that doesn't sound like very good news but it means that I won't get another cold (at least not the same one) for another year or so.
I had my apprenticeship technical training in Regina today, so Monica and I drove in last night. The roads were pretty poor, but we made it safely. We had an exam this morning and I totally wasn't prepared. I got the exam and read the first question. It did not look promising. Its not that I didn't study, I just didn't know all that was to be on the exam. It was the toughest one so far, but I managed to walk away with an 85%. The guy who marked my exam was an easy marker.
The class has actually gotten a bit better. I found that I was able to participate more today. That is good.
Anyway, that is just an update.
Peace out.

Today is the 3rd Anniversary of the breaking up of the greatest band of all time: Five Iron Frenzy. Forgive me if I'm a little depressed today.

"Dear Father, I need you. Your strength my heart to mend. I want to fly higher every new day again."
