I have a 1 year old son.  The other day, I was just sitting on my couch and watching him play.  I was thoroughly enjoying myself.  My heart was swelling up with joy... just watching him.  He wasn't doing anything special, he was just being him, playing, and figuring out new things.  Then, this thought ran through my mind: "I wonder if God enjoys watching us?"  I pondered it for a moment and then I remembered Psalm 139:

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.

I realized... God is thinking about me.  This was a cool revelation.  God not only thinks about me, he thinks about me (AND YOU) a lot.  Verse 18 basically says that God thinks about us so much that if we counted his thoughts it would be more than the number of grains of sand. ... I believe that includes the sands in the sea as well.

I thank God for that revelation.  I know He loves me more than I could ever love anyone... including my son... and I love my son more than words can express.... so if God enjoys me like I enjoy my son...  WOW!!!  God enjoys us! He truly wants relationship with us.  He enjoys watching us... even when we aren't doing anything special.  He likes to be with us.

In the fall/winter, we were so busy working on our new CD that I hadn't really gotten any new songs.  Fine tuning our existing songs was our focus.  However, at the end of the year, in my quiet time, I felt stirred by the Lord to really meditate on Psalm 24.  I was actually intrigued by it.  I know that the Psalms were originally sang and a lot of them tell the story of David's life... his struggles and his victories.  Psalms 24 felt kind of disjointed to me though... I was really pondering... how does all this fit together?  I started looking it up in Spurgeon's "Treasury of David" ... If you never checked that book out, you should.  It is a study/explanation of every single verse in the Psalms.  It is available on line in its entirity:  http://www.studylight.org/com/tod/

I'd like to highlight one verse:  Verse 7 -- "Lift up your heads oh ye gates, be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in."  We've all heard the saying "I do that 24/7"... Well as I was reading that, it struck me that that is Psalms 24 verse 7.  "24:7"  Our lives should cry out 24/7 for the gates of heaven to open and for His kingdom to come... on earth as it is in heaven.  My heart cries out for the King of Glory to come in.... I'd like for my life to be a testimony of that.  I want to see what the Father sees and bring that down to earth.

Anyway, studying Psalm 24 really gave me inspiration for a new song.... You'll never guess what its called? ... you got it... Its called "Psalm 24" -- I believe that some of the best songs ever written are inspired by or based on God's holy scriptures.  Its a good way to get the word of God in you.  Trying singing a verse some time.  It is very impactful.  God's word is powerful and it changes you.  Starting out 2008 meditating on God's word is a great way to start and continue the new year.  Getting a new song out of the deal was a blessing from God.

We just finished recording our debut CD called "Worthy"

It was recorded at Destiny Audio in Independence Missouri.  Check out www.destinyaudio.com -- Dave Storms is an incredible engineer and is a great guy to work with.

Here are the songs and a little about each of them.  Once the CD is released, we will post some songs here on myspace.  This CD will be released by the end of January 2008.

"Worthy" -- by Cheryl Davis -- This song is straight out of Revelation chapter 5.

"Behold the Lamb" -- by Cheryl Davis -- Behold the Lamb is about becoming like the Lord when we gaze at his beauty.  The more we keep our eyes on Him and gaze on Him, the more our lives will reflect Him.

"Jeremiah's Song" -- by Cheryl Davis -- Jeremiah's Song came about when we had an infant death in our family.  It is birthed out of the place of not understanding what God is doing, but knowing that He is still good and that we are in His hands. If you are hurting and you don't understand... find the place of trusting His unseen hand.

"I Will Worship You" -- by Neveda Wayland -- Another Revelation 5 song.  He is so worthy, we can't stop singing about it.  Like the Elders around the throne, we bow down and worship Him.

"Changed In An Instant" -- by Neveda Wayland -- This song is ballad. It is about how we can be changed in a single instant by the power of the man Christ Jesus... the Lamb.

"Psalm 62" -- by Cheryl Davis -- This psalm has always brought comfort.  It is a reminder that "our soul finds rest in God alone." When David wrote this psalm it was like he was giving himself a pep talk... he said "Find Rest O My Soul."  Sometimes we all need to stir ourselves up in faith and speak to our souls and tell ourselves to find rest in him alone. Verse 6 says "He is my rock and my salvation.  In Him I will Not be Shaken." No matter what you are going through, you can find rest in Him.

"Jesus I Love You Medly" -- by Neveda Wayland -- This is a medly of "Jesus I Love You" and the traditional hymm "My Jesus I Love You"

"Seasons" -- by Cheryl Davis -- Seasons is about how our lives may change, but the one thing that remains is that He is with us.

"Lion of Judah" -- by Cheryl Davis -- another song out of Revelation chapter 5.  This one is coupled with Psalm 97:2 --  "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne" -- The worthy one is seated on his throne of justice and we cry out for the Lion of Judah to roar and bring justice.
