There's a fun charity auction going on right now and one of the items to bid on is a day at Seventeen! Go behind the scenes to see how your fave mag is made. Depending on what day you visit you might sit in on a model casting, an editorial ideas meeting, watch the art department design the layouts...

I had such an amazing morning today! Dylan and Cole Sprouse came to the office and they are so hilarious. Last night I was trying to think of a fun game for them to play so I looked up questions from the Newlywed Game. I burst out laughing because a lot of the questions referred to a "spouse" and I noticed the play on words would work if I said "Sprouse." I told the boys the story and how I laughed for literally 10 minutes when I thought of it. Assuming they'd make fun of me (heck, I'd make fun of me!), I was surprised when they actually laughed and got really into the game! Check out the video. I was trying so hard not to laugh when I asked them the questions, but it was hard. Are you a fan of them or the show? Sound off below!
PS- Check back on seventeen.com next week for the whole interview!

You know how the "25 Random Things" note is going around Facebook and MySpace? Well, I thought I'd write one for Seventeen (obviously with 17 things instead)! Check it out and then copy yours into a comment below. The whole staff wants to know about you, too!
1. Seventeen is about to celebrate her 65th birthday! 2. Our office building is featured in the new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic (it's her office in the flick). 3. Celebs hang out at the office a lot! We have about 4-5 meet and greets a week. 4. Every Friday real girls come into the office for a modeling open call (come if you're in town!) 5. We have beauty sales for the staff when they clean out the beauty closet. It's madness! 6. There are only 4 guys on the editorial staff. 7. We have outings as a staff (like, we all saw the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana: Best of Both Worlds 3D movie together!) 8. We are constantly giving away free stuff to readers (enter to win!) 9. Seventeen's favorite color is pink- can you tell? 10. We always have food around the office. It's like cupcake central over here! 11. All the single ladies on staff give each other dating advice constantly! 12. There are 13 international editions of Seventeen: Argentina, Chile, Colombia/Venezuela, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey! 13. The fashion closet is AMAZING! 14. Most of the staff has a crush on Robert Pattinson. 15. We work really far in advance on issues. For instance, we already have the stories planned for August (back to school!) 16. A lot of editors were also interns for the magazine back in college. 17. We really do live by the motto, "It's fun to be Seventeen"!
OK, your turn! Give us 17 random things about you!
xoxo, julie

Hey girls! I wanted to tell you about a new community we just launched on seventeen.com! It's called "Get Advice" and it's my latest addiction.
Basically, you can ask any question and readers, editors and experts have the opportunity to help you with your problem by giving their personal advice. You could also technically use it for any other random questions (there have been lots of girls asking about music suggestions, for example!)
I'm literally in it all the time reading and responding to your questions! So, hurry to seventeen.com/getadvice and try it out. Let me know what you think!

jules

Attention ladies! Seventeen has this contest where we're giving away ten $1,000 scholarships for readers who have done an amazing job at volunteering. We're looking for girls who have made a powerful impact and are changing our world for the better! If you think this sounds like you or someone you know, go to seventeen.com/mission to enter!
And because this is an exclusive blog and I want to give you a little something extra(!!), I talked with the editor in charge of the contest to see exactly what they're looking for. Here's her tips for you:
1. ACT FAST: The deadline is February 2nd, so apply asap!
2. BE CLEAR: Tell us exactly what you do to help out, whether you founded a charity, started a website to help other people, or launched a chapter of an already-existing program.
3. DON’T BE HUMBLE: Be super-clear about YOUR role in whatever project/charity/program you’re telling us about. If you founded it, tell us that! If you raised tons of money, tell us the amount. If you received letters from the people you helped, or made a splash in the local news, we want to know about that, too. This is one time when modesty doesn’t matter—tell us everything we need to know about your hard work
4. SHARE YOUR INSPIRATION: Tell us WHY you got started with your charity/project/plans in the first place. Did you have a personal experience that made you want to make a difference? Did you read about a need in the world, and want to pitch in? The more details you can give us about why you’re so passionate, the better!
5. SPREAD THE WORD: If you know other girls who would be great candidates for the scholarship, let them know. Tell the girls in your classes, clubs, teams, and organizations. Send them the link to seventeen.com/mission today, or post the URL on your myspace or Facebook. The more girls who apply, the better!
We are so excited to read all the applications, and we can’t wait to read all about how YOU are making a difference!
Good Luck!
xo, julie

Hi girls!
I know a lot of you are gearing up for your holiday breaks from school (I have next week off, too, so I know how excited you are!)
Looking for some fun things to do over the break? Check these things out!
Workout with Seventeen- we have lots of fun exercise videos designed specifically for YOU! And they work! (I've done a few on my own.)
Twilight Chat Room- Talk with other Seventeen readers about whether you're on Team Edward or Team Jacob!
Quizzes- Take tons of quizzes like "Which High School Musical Character are You?" to "Are You A Good Girlfriend?"
Games- My favorite is Editor's Assistant, but there are so many more including Gumballz and Shopdoku!
So, I know you're not going to be bored during your break whether you're on seventeen.com or out and about. Let me know what your plans are for the vacation!
xo, julie

Hey! How's it going? I wanted to tell you about a fun event that Seventeen is having on Monday that YOU should attend! We're throwing a (virtual) party with Virtual MTV (vmtv.com) to celebrate the December/January issue of our magazine! (Have you gotten your copy yet? It's on newsstands now!)
Whitney Port from The Hills (and one of Seventeen's Style Stars of 2008) will be hanging out (with you!) at our party. She'll be talking to readers at 5:30 pm ET at Club Vinyl (Mark your calendar!).
All you have to do to is go to seventeen.com/vmtv and create your avatar, then come hang out and chat with Whitney and other readers. Plus Desi, Seventeen's beauty editor, and Marissa, Seventeen's fashion editor, will be answering your questions!
Hope you can make it! Oh, and I have a question for you. Have you ever been in a virtual world? If so, what are your thoughts? And if you haven't, will you give it a try on Monday? Let me know!
xoxo, julie

Do you have your tickets to see Twilight yet? We all do over at Seventeen! Twilight mania is happening at the office right now and we're counting down the days until Nov. 21 with exclusive cast interviews, blogs and video. Check out the 17 Buzz every day for new stuff!
And, in celebration of the big day, a few other editors and I got to hang out with Robert Pattinson! (Yes, we are still giddy!) Julie H., Elisa and I were thisclose to him in a tiny room for 30 minutes. We talked about everything from how he's handling fame (um, he doesn't even think he's that big of a deal- so humble!) to if he would date a fan (the answer is yes! In fact, he might prefer it!)
We also had him do a video shout-out for us to introduce the Seventeen Twilight countdown. We asked him to say, "Hey it's Robert Pattinson and you're counting down the days until Twilight!" I don't know what happened, but Mr. Hottie couldn't get the words right and it ended up being absolutely hilarious. Check out the best outtakes here:

Why are you a fan of Twilight? Let me know in a comment below!
xoxo, julie
