Just to let you all know. Shaggy Wonda is now on Twitter. Yes. yes. We broke down and gave into peer pressure and now we will be tweeting (wow that is odd to type) with the best of them. As awkward as it sounds however, it is a pretty simple way of us letting you know our upcoming shows and other special announcements that arise. We promise we will keep tweets like 'Steve farted in the van again' to a minimum, which is good, cuz it happens....a lot, but at least he is getting his vegetables. Anyway the link is below so click on it and become a follower (not in a wierd cult way). As always thanks for your support. The Wonda

What is happening!! Happy New Year everyone, Colby here to give the low down on whats been goin down in the world of Shaggy Wonda. First off to close the door on '08 we played three fantastic shows at three of our favorite spots the weekend before Christmas, Uncle Fester's in Bloomington, Deerhead in Evansville, and Mousetrap in Indy. Then we clocked in some family time for Xmas, but then on the afternoon of the 26th we loaded up and headed down to Nashville, Tn for the fourth annual Nashville recording sessions. We did four days in studio A at Sound Emporium studios. This room has seen such acts as Robert Plant, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, and Bob Dylan just in the last year...no big deal. Our producer/engineer extrodinaire Taylor Pollert dialed up what is without a doubt the best Shaggy Wonda recordings to date. We tracked 10 songs in four days. We really wanted to capture the energy of our live shows in the studio setting so most of the tracks are full live takes. I was pretty proud of how well all four of us longhair's played together, the recordings really jump out and grab your attention. So stay tuned for these tracks to come out over the next year, in fact a couple teaser rough cuts will probably find their way to Myspace in the near future.
With the new recordings in hand now begins the process of using the new material to gain more exposure for the group within the music industry. We have begun to work through a laundry list of clubs, festivals, booking agents, and labels to submit to. The show schedule is filling in daily with shows confirmed into June at our usual spots as well as new towns and clubs. We are very excited and honored to gain some attention from Relix Magazine in their upcoming Feb/Mar issue as a winner in their JAM-OFF contest so pick yourself up a copy of that. Stay tuned as we will bring you updates as we get them. Its an exciting time around the Wonda camp as we build off a successful '08 and bear down for the mountain of work ahead in '09. We have many surprises coming for all the Shaggy Heads including videos, a podcast, and much more still to be dreamed up. Thanks everyone for your support and we look fowrad to seeing you at a show in a town near you very soon. Take Care,Colby

Yo ShaggyHeads... It is my sad duty to inform you (if u dont Know) of the passing of George Carlin. My favorite Comedian and probably one of the best OF ALL TIME!! I saw him live once at the IU Auditorium when i was a freshman. I was sitting between my mom and dad, and the very first words out of his mouth were "PUSSYFART". My mom is a very cool lady but she is from the old school, i couldnt say "butt" growing up. No one has ever been able to make me feel so uncomfortable, then 5 minutes later crying from laughing. That cocksucker Carlin better be laughing and drinking a beer with the devil or ill find him in hell and kick the shit out of him. I think Carlin and the devil will get along tho cuz Carlin will teach ol' Satan a few new cuss words that will make the red one blush. This is not to say that he was a bad person but i dont think Carlin 1) would want to go to heaven, B) God prolly dont want him there anyway, and D) the devil has got to have better Drugs!!! ANyway George Carlin will be sorely missed especially in this day and age when everyone takes things too seriously. George one was of the few who gave shit where shit was due and wasnt afraid to piss people off even tho they deserve it. GEORGE, THIS IS FOR U: SHIT PISS FUCK CUNT COCKSUCKER MOTHERFUCKER TITS. R.I.P.

Current mood:how you doin’?
Yoooooooooooooo ShaggyHeads, wassup wassup, its huffy again here to bore u all to death. So, if you havent heard the story of our trip back to Indiana( for the stable studios music fest) from virginia, or are so totally out of the loop u dont know about massive flooding throughout southern IN, i will now rectify that. We left faifax, VA (about 15 miles west of D.C.) at midnight, sat morning, cruising along gravytrain until about half an hour into oHIo, when bambi's mom decides to play chicken with our rig and lost. :( Now i love animals just as much as the next person, so please dont think i am making light of the deer's fate, its just i forgot to pick up all that free venison we just had feshly made. So the van and everyone are fine (with the exception of the deer) and we commence to jigglin', ok i mean we got back on the road. smooth sailing across the indiana line. we get to 465 and start south on 37, and its rainin and we can feel something aint right. about 15 miles north of martinsville we are stopped by road blocks, DO NOT PASS GO, U DO NOT GET TO GO TO UR BEDS NOW, thats what the sheriff was sayin im pretty sure. anyway we turn around and head back north just in time because 37 is now starting to flood in many places. (oh yeah lets recap, we know this: 37 closed; 67 closed, mudslides trees u name it;) so... up to 65 we go to try to get south at least to columbus. there is a line in this sand and across it you do not-- also dude flood is not the preferred nomenclature, its torrential downpours causing massive areas of drainage challenged land, please. so 65 south is out. ok...so lets just pretend we r long-haulers and go hang at the flying J. 55 pushups later we decide to try to go south again. The radio has been keeping us informed, solid advice from concerned citizens and please sir can u tell me if my daughters cats got evacuated???????? they r very special cats who sleep all day, have u ever heard of such a thing? they must be saved!!!!!! anyway, 135, which we heard is open turns out to NOT be open about .6 miles from where we were gonna get on 45, but that is washed out anyway so... lets play moonshine runners and go try out the gravel roads runnin thru Brown County. hmmmm no go joe. well with the help of a magellan, a trusty road atlas(THANKS HUFFY), and our superior wits and sense of humor, we made it to the safe house deep in the woods of columbus, get fed and loved and decide we r gonna get to bloomington and then to spencer even if huffy has to swim dragging the van and trailer( he could definately do it I think)! well turns out 46 is now open again and we can just drive like its a normal saturday. One little roundabout to pass a washed out bridge in spencer later and we roll in to stable studios, set up, and rock out! whew i typed all that holding my breath are u shocked??! That is the story and im sticking to it. Sooo... if ur thinking about having a festival, and we would love to play it if u r, please coordinate with mother nature and set up a dry weekend, however, please know that we will get to it even if torrential downpours causing massive areas of drainage challenged land, or any other natural occurences occur!!!!!! Thanks for listening.... hey man wake up!!!! we love u guys . LATER. HUFFY BEAR aka put ur shirt back on dude aka Road dawg. OUT

Current mood: optimistic
Well, the Shaggy crew made it back to Bloomington. After 5 days of hard work the guys laid down 5 songs that are absolutely amazing. I don't even know how to begin to tell you all how great they sound. Their talent, creativity, and work ethic is inspiring, and their determination to accept nothing less then 120% is apparent in every note and beat. Any Way You Know, Only Like This, Nuthin' Boy, Backline, and Light and Peace are completely finished and only awaiting the final vocal tracks and then the mixing and mastering. This next album is going to be off the hook so start getting excited now!! If any of you are interested in the actual process of studio recording, check out our photo blog on the web page. Vince took some great pictures and then explained what's going on in them. It's a great way to get a feel for what the guy's have been doing for the last week.

Current mood: rockin
Let's just start at the beginning. . . we left yesterday, and in typical Shaggy Wonda fashion we were hours late in our departure time from C-bus. Believe it or not, all bodies were accounted for, it was our trusty steed White Lightening we were waiting on. Finally, after months and months of working on the van, she's running like a champ. It was a smooth ride to Cashville. When we arrived at the studio the next several hours were spent setting up gear, equipment, and mics, and getting all the technical bs out of the way so that the guys could hit the ground running today. The upgrade to Studio A is sweet! We're definitely enjoying all the extra space and couches as we are basically calling this place home this week. And Colby has a Hula lamp with a chick wearing a thong. Could one ask for anything more? We were at the studio until almost 2:00 and then retired to Taylor's house for some much needed sleep! After covering the floor of Taylor's house with air mattresses, we all passed out quickly. Abe didn't get much sleep since he spent the night whoring around trying out everyone's sleeping arrangement to see which one he liked best. Lucky for us we're not expecting much out of him in the next few days! We arrived at the studio around 11:30 today and they got started shortly after. The recording session kicked off with Any Way You Know. So far things have gone really smoothly. They were able to lay down all the tracks without many hang ups at all. We just finished celebrating its completion and now they are moving onto Light and Peace. We'll probably stick around for a few more hours and then call it quits on day 1. Huffy's up next. . . we'll be back tomorrow! Peace - Jenn
