it came to us a couple of days ago in a friendly email from the folks over at the ISC.
It's You is the first place winner in this year's international songwriting competition - performance category.

kind of a crazy coincidence.. we have been preparing to film a music video for it with the guys at Fearless Music come this May which i think starts today (yay!) took me a second. anyway, it will be interesting to see how they bring it to life with pictures..

can't wait!

after many moons, muffins, madness and cups of chocolate blueberry honey green tea, my EP is ready for play! it'll be up on iTunes, Amazon and you may even bump into it on Pandora or Rhapsody in the coming weeks.

there's so much to say about how it all makes me feel.. it's a mouth melting mind boggling paradigm shifting mixture of extreme gratitude, anticipation, creative stimulation and insanity. i'm really pleased with it and couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.

this is it.



a million thank you's go out to everyone who has dedicated so much love, time, sweat, tears, energy and cookies to this EP, a big round warm hug is waiting for you every morning when you wake up and before you start your day. i love you.

by the way, if you happen to be in the big apple this thursday, we're having a release party at one of my most favorite places to play, Rockwood. here's how to get there: take the F train to 2nd Ave, look for Allen street, then look for number 196 on Allen street. you'll find a lovely little venue called Rockwood and i'll be inside there with a big hug waiting for you. it all starts around 9:30pm this thursday, october 30th.

...and why?

i'm so curious..

just when i thought i was far from lying horizontally on a hospital bed while watching IV's being pierced into my arm, it happened..

at 4am saturday morning i was rushed to the ER to find out what the heck was wrong with me.. low blood pressure, dehydration, pain in the front and lower back, "we need to get her in for a Cat Scan" - i know i've heard this before but i couldn't help but think about a group of nurses and doctors releasing little kittens all over my hospital bed.



they couldn't figure out what was wrong so they released me (which felt like a week later) with a painkiller prescription, suggested "plenty of rest" (something i should probably really consider) and a follow up appointment.

three days and many studio hours later, i think i might be ready to get back into the groove. it's my favorite place in the world right now that studio.. but i can't wait to hit the road soon! october will be traveling time :) in fact, i think my album will be ready by then, or later (will keep you posted).

it's been quite an eventful few months since we began recording the album and although it's taken its toll on my little body, it hasn't kept us from making it the biggest part of our lives.

in the meantime, i've been spending my bed-ridden moments with my laptop in hand and the light box in sight (i forgot how much i missed it) - watching junk tv, reality tid-bits, globe trekker (my favorite), cnn, bbc, cspan, the election's obvious choice, History documentaries, discovery fun, did you know they're planning to re-enact The Big Bang? this is going to get interesting...

ps: i'm playing a show tomorrow (wednesday 9/10) night at Rockwood Music Hall, 9pm if you're in town ;)
