Hi everyone,
Our Australian tour after 12 years went very well. So many people came to the show. Thank you very much! I updated some photos at our official web
www.shonenknife.net
By the way, our Beijing show at Modern Sky Festival was cancelled. All foreign bands' performance was cancelled including us. It's Chinese government matter and no one can help. I just want to say sorry for our fans who was waiting for the show in Beijing.

Hi!
2 shows in Chiba prefecture and Tokyo went very well. Everybody was ROCKed. It was long drive from Tokyo to Osaka. I got tired. I didn't drive, though. Actually, I have a poor sense of direction. That's why I can't drive. Europetan tour will come soon. We'll play in Paris, France on June 28th. It is the first time for Shonen Knife to play in France. I've played in more than 10 countries in Europe but I've never playe in France before. I hope many people will come to our shows. We had a T-shirts company to print new Shonen Knife shirts in Germany. I designed it and it's cute.
Cheers,
Naoko

I'll have 2 shows in Tokyo area and drive to Tokyo tomorrow. It may take about 8 hours by car from Osaka to Tokyo. It is the first time to go to Tokyo after this March. I'm very excited.!
I'm preparing for European tour, too. I'm wondering the weather in UK and Germany now. I think it's a little colder than Osaka. I may need jacket.
Rock!
Naoko

Hello!! We've recorded a new song in Osaka, Japan last week. The song is about my favorite sweets. The title is ... secret now. We have only Japanese lyrics so far, though. I'll try to make English version soon. By the way, I like tennis a lot. I have tennis lessons once a week. My tennis skill improve slowly but I like to play. Roland Garros, French Open Tennis tournament has started. It's fun to watch. My favorite player is Rafael Nadal. Cheers, Naoko Shonen Knife

Thank you for your comments. I always enjoy reading.
I've been to Tokyo for press interviews, a show and video shooting. As you know, I'm living in Osaka. The distance between Osaka and Tokyo is 8 hours by car and 2 hours and 30 minutes by bullet train. For this time, we took a bullet train. It's very fast but we had to carry heavy luggage by ourself. Osaka is a big city but Tokyo is a mega big city. Everywhere in Tokyo was crowded.
We played in Kichijoji, Tokyo on October 11th. It was Saturday and so many people gathered to the club. At first, there was a fashion show. Then two Japanese all female bands played. After that, Riff Randells from Cargary, Canada played. We played at the end. I like all females bands. Every band is fun. Kichijoji is 30 minutes by train from the down town of Tokyo but threre were so many people around the station where is a shopping area.
After sound check, I went to a game arcade and tried to crane games. I took nothing. It was difficult.
Two days after the show, we took video. It went well. The video director is a genius. I can't wait to watch it.
ROCK!

Hi!
I have great news!
We accepted a new bassist as an official member. Her name is Ritsuko. Yes! Shonen Knife became 3 piece band.
Shonen Knife was started as a 3 piece band then, original bassist left the band in 1999. Since then, the original drummer Atsuko switched to the bassist and played with support drummers. Two years ago, the drummer Etsuko became our official member. Just at that time, Atsuko moved to Los Angeles and it became difficult to play regularly. She graduated Shonen Knife rock school. Then Etsuko and I was playing with some support bassists. Ritsuko is one of them. She is a good musician and a big Shonen Knife fan.
Now, Shonen Knife is Naoko - vocal & guitar, Etsuko - drums and Ritsuko - bass and backing vocals.
We will release our new album "Super Group" on November 7th in Japan. We'll have Japan tour in December. As soon as possible, we'd like to go to play in overseas, too. I hope to see you guys at our show soon!!!
Lots of love,
Naoko
