THE HEARTS AND CRAFTS AFFAIR…IT'S A HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR

Greenpoint, Brooklyn-Sunday, December 2nd, 2007
The Hearts and Crafts Affair, a network of young, bright and promising craft creators, will offer a selection of their latest work at Café Grumpy's Greenpoint location (193 Meserole Avenue at Diamond Street) from noon to six pm.

Back for a fifth time due to its unwavering popularity, The Hearts and Crafts Affair has become an opportunity that can't be missed for the Brooklyn DIY set. Hostess Kira Birney curates a diverse and talented selection of local artists that promise a myriad of original styles. This winter the craft fair will showcase jewelry, paper goods, knit ware, confections, clothing, candles, journals, ceramics and drawings by 18 local independent artists and crafters.

The event will also feature musical entertainment throughout the day by Mannequin Circus and friends.

Café Grumpy is located near the Nassau G stop as well as the B48, 43 and 61 bus routes.

I'm DIY'er of the week over on Newsday's Cheap Thrills blog.

It was nice to do a show that I could walk to from my house! And it was great to meet all of the other Etsy Artist's there, and put a face with a name. I was really good and held back buying anything but think I have to go back and buy a dress from Better Than Jam, I was staring at them all day and they were so beautiful and unique. I think you can see one of them in this photo it is turquoise and navy on the left.

Dan came with me early to set up and had to tell me to relax because one hour was not enough time to get all of the tee shirts out labelled and priced as well as all of the jewelry. I was being a basket case, but I think it worked out in the end.


This was the first show where I wasn't splitting a table of having a friend with me keeping comany or selling their own thing, so Kara came and perused my wares

Well, I must say, the Atlantic Antic was really SUPER FANTASTIC!
So many people and such cool stuff! So much art and unique items on display it was really very cool.
Once I get my pics back, I will post some follow ups of the booth, which I shared with Vivi Sun and LAYERS. We had a great balance of items, and I think good fun was had by all.
My faithful and devoted sister stayed with me all day, helping field customers questions and helping me run the daunting credit card machine - THANKS KARA! You are the best!

It was a real spur of the moment decision, but should be tons of fun. If any one is around, do stroll by, there should be lots to see.

Well, I have been working quite a bit all summer on some new designs to introduce in October for Fall, and I just couldn't wait any more, so I've begun uploading some of the new collections. Here is a SNEAK PEAK at new Necklaces for Fall. Lots of turquoise, crystals, and sterling silver, dangley pendants.
