Hi!! It's mimi again!! I am back to report from behind the scenes of our latest Mandee photo shoot. we shot yesterday at Chelsea Piers in NYC. It was THE BEST SHOOT EVER! (Do I ever NOT think that?!!) We had three amazingly gorgeous models: Bree, Kat, and our new girl, Ashley. Our models arrived without a trace of makeup, just-out-of-the-shower hair, and their "model off-duty" uniform of cool t-shirt, perfect fit jeans, and the-best-boots- ever (all Mandee basics). they sipped their coffees and chatted with the crew and on their phones while our phenomenal (and famous) hair and makeup team worked their magic. A manicurist (to the stars) was brought in to give each girl a red (!!!) french manicure—red nails with white tips!!! How cool is that! Rock-star holiday nails! Meanwhile, my assistant, kate, and I sorted through racks and racks of the season's best clothes and accessories, assembled each look to be shot and decided who would wear what. The music was blasting, the photographer (one of the best in the biz) tested the lights, and the excitement was building as we finally dressed the models and began our shoot. Once again, my jaw dropped as I saw each outfit come to life on our Mandee girl models. My head was spinning! it was MAGIC!!! We have all—the whole team—translated the trends into wearable, glamorous, fabulous, reality. A Mandee girl reality!!! All the models, my assistant, and I can say is, "OH MY GOD! I NEED THAT! and that and that....!!!!! And now i'm sooooooooooooo excited to share these absolute must-haves from our shoot. What I can't wait to get my hands on and what I can't live without: the most lustworthy pieces of the season and everything that will complete my fall wardrobe and take me into the holidays. Thankfully, gray is still the new neutral. The gray destructed jeans will be my new "basic black jean." I can wear them under my new coats or jackets, dressed up with heels and the skinny jewel-encrusted tuxedo blazer, or even with my new fave stretchy black-lace minidress. It's all about layering and mixing and matching the unexpected. For my total indulgence, I am getting two coats. (Well, maybe three—one is really a jacket!) All three are amazingly perfect. And talk about the easiest way to transform a look: just throw on a different jacket or coat!!! The first is simply the perfect white military-inspired double- breasted coat. It is as sophisticated for work as it is cool with jeans, leggings, or a mini. And how cute with a beret and over- the-knee boots??? The black cropped wool bomber is equally irresistible. It will be my every-day-throw-it over-everything coat. It can go girly glam with liquid metallic or sequined leggings (my new obsession), or tomboy chic with my gray destructed jeans and a high bootie. My absolute favorite, of course, is the cropped, embellished biker jacket. Every girl needs one!!! Who doesn't want (or need) to feel like a bad girl sometimes. Or just look like one!!! And when you don't want to unleash your inner bad girl, you can always go girly-boho and channel Sienna Miller, as our Mandee model, Ashley did to perfection. Just throw on distressed jeans, a black bootie (with a killer heel), a Liberty of London-ish floral print button-down, and a thousand-watt smile! And how cute to go '80s party girl by pairing the biker jacket with the black lace strapless minidress or the flirty polka-dot bustier minidress. Can we talk about the sequin leggings and how much I LOOOOOVe them!!! ??? I am beyond obsessed! I will be wearing these day (yes! DAY) and night!! Kat rocked them on the runway with the season's best white shirt (another obsession!) and black pumps. I will wear them with the white shirt and add the black tuxedo jacket with the jewel-encrusted lapels ... I might even wear the latex studded bustier underneath, with or without the white shirt! Very YSL and Helmut Newton! And, like our models yesterday, I won't forget my red lipstick! For day, I can wear them with a metallic bustier (yes, I know it's daytime but wait! you'll see!... ) and turn it down a notch or two with one of my favorite sweaters of the season, the deep v-neck slouchy tunic. I will cinch the sweater at the waist with a wide black belt and add a ballet flat. Throw on the black cropped bomber and maybe a beret, and it is very daytime chic! ( and not at all too glam for day!) And back to my favorite sweaters.... the deep v-neck tunic works equally well over my new flirty polka-dot bustier dress as it does over the sequin leggings. But when I want to feel cozy, I will turn to the wrapped, striped long wrap sweater duster in, of course, my favorite neutral gray. I will wrap it, layer it, and belt it over a sparkly tee, bustier , jeans, and over- the-knee boots or let it fall open loosely over a minidress or leggings. And to maintain that Mandee girl edge, I will be wearing a few chunky, sparkly cocktail rings on my gorgeously polished fingers. (The new Mandee nail polish colors kill me, they are so gorgeous!!!) I can't stop picturing Bree in her metallic tube top with the faux leather jeans and Ashley in her floral bustier under a boyfriend oxford shirt!!! Two opposite looks that were equally, insanely, fabulous!! Now I am thinking how many bustiers does a girl need??? How many millions of ways can she wear them??? My answer is that I will get every bustier I can get a hold of and incorporate them into everyone of my outfits!!! I will layer one OVER or under almost every outfit. And even if you can barely see that I am wearing one, it will give me just the right attitude to carry me through the holiday season...... I hope you enjoy your holiday!! Until next time! XXXXXMIMI

Hi! I am soooo excited to be part of Mandee's new blog! My name is Mimi and I am a stylist based in NYC (and a total Mandee Girl) I work with many models, celebrities, musicians and designers, which takes me all over the world. My favorite client, of course, is Mandee, I have been styling their advertising and in-store images FOREVER (and now their Style Star Winner, too)!
And I’ve decided to take other Mandee Girls like you behind the scenes of a typical Mandee photo shoot and tell you what is happening in the world of fashion…

For our fall shoot, I was particularly excited to work with Lynsey, the Mandee's Fall 2009 Style Star Winner. Lynsey and I met at the Mandee store in Clifton, N.J. where a film crew followed us as I styled her entire look, transforming her into a true Mandee Girl. The next day she came to a NYC photo studio where we were shooting our fall looks and the ad campaign. Lynsey had her hair and makeup done by our famous artists and was shot by an even more famous photographer – and with the look that I had put together the day before, Lynsey looked INCREDIBLE!!!

Needless to say, the photo shoot was a blast! Three amazingly gorgeous models worked the runway (that was built just for this shoot!) while the photographer captured them in the fall looks. We covered all the trends from colored jeans to flashes of neon to textured hose and leggings. We had animal prints, metallic leather accessories, lots of lace and even a faux fur vest!! I was in total heaven. In just one day, my entire fall wardrobe was solved. Believe me, I wanted EVERYTHING, but I narrowed down my wish list. So here’s what I’ll be wearing next season. Don’t get me wrong – I am loving (and living in) a lot of my favorite clothes right now, but I soooo can't wait until the weather cools down so I can wear it all...

My absolute, total-favorite-of-all-time that I am rocking day and night in (and right now) are my virtual stretch jeans. They’re a really cool cross between a legging and a jean. They tuck me in at all the right places, and even give me a cute little butt. These jeans are my everyday base. I wear them with a chunky shoe (my black bootie with zippers or zip front open heels), a big belt and a tee (or two.) Or, I throw on a cute mini-dress on top (one with a bustier and cute little flirty skirt.) When I'm not feeling so girly, I rock the grunge plaid tunic with a metallic studded flat. The jeans make each style work without looking like I tried too hard. I throw my little tuxedo jacket on top and maybe my fedora and some killer sunglasses, and I have a total “thing” happening.

By the way, another favorite wear-with-everything-and-never-take-off piece is the just-mentioned little tux jacket. I have it in grey and in purple!!! Grey is THE new neutral for fall so I’ll wear it like a little black jacket (in other words, over everything). Purple is the color I am so after this year, so I had to have that too. And, trust me, the purple will go with everything too, even the pops of neon that I seem to work into almost every outfit. Most importantly, though, my little purple tux jacket brings out my purple Givenchy nail polish!

When I am not wearing one of my little tux jackets, I’ll be reaching for my shaggy faux fur vest, and begin my transformation into a rock star!

I’m throwing my neon pink lace tank top under everything, even if I only see an inch of it peeking out from under my colored leopard print top. This fall I am treating any animal print as a neutral so I stocked up from tops to leggings...

When I want to look classic (but with that Mandee twist) I’ll wear my royal blue trench-styled coat. All I need are my black textured hose and my black booties to feel totally put together. Throw on the fedora and some shades, and I'll feel even cooler.

My final wardrobe secret is that the bustier will be a staple and the real star of my wardrobe. I’ll be wearing it over a long sleeve tee, my virtual stretch jeans, or with one of my new favorite colored jeans (I'm loving the teal). If I’m feeling wild, I'll wear my neon lace tank under my bustier, and throw my fur vest on top. To dress things up I'll wear the bustier with my little tux jacket, my new high waisted mini skirt and grey zebra leggings. I can even go classic with it under my camel knit vest and grey corduroys, flats and maybe the fedora. The options are endless...

And now that I have gone through my fall wardrobe, I can't wait to see what's in store for Holiday!!!
