Unfortunately I've had to postpone my show this weekend in Budapest. The reason is I had my bag stolen in Barcelona last weekend. The bag had all my stuff in it. Records, phone, laptop, wallet and most importantly my passport. Took me four days to get home with help from the british embassy. If there was some way to make the show I would but for now I'm grounded in the UK until I get a new passport. We've set another date for next month tho so hold tight. peace. Simon Bonobo

Just wanted to clear up any confusion over my upcoming tour of Canada and US. All these shows are DJ sets. None are live with the band as advertised at numerous venues. We hope to bring the live show out to north America some time in the near future but for now it's just me spinning records. Hope that's cool.
peace

Thought it time to give a belated hello and thankyou to everyone who came out to see a live or dj show over 2007. Thanks for making it such a good year. I'm gonna put a few photos up by way of blurry eyed retrospective montage. There's still touring to be done this year but it's time to get my head down into the next record. There's some dj dates in north America in Feb and as well as live shows throughout the year at various cosmopolitan locations. It also seems like this myspace account has become conscious and is approving friends on it's own. No bad thing. Hopefully it'll start taking care of my taxes too. In the meantime, please enjoy this.....

Barakas is a side project of Simon (bonobo) Green. An alter ego if you will, an evil twin if you must. It started with the single "Bungee Jump Against Rasicm", a collaboration with Tru Thoughts head honcho Rob (nirobi) Luis. The story goes thus.. "they both discussed making some tracks as DJ specials to play out in their sets. The only remit being the tracks have to rock the dancefloor! A few weeks later they recorded the tracks, and having both been inundated with people asking what the tracks were whenever they played them out, Mr Luis took a leaf out of Puff Daddy's book and decided to release them himself!" Now stepping out solo, Green has been working to this formula to bring some low end wobbly goodness to a dancefloor near you...

Days To Come has won the Giles Peterson Worldwide award for Album of the year!
Massive thanks to everyone who voted for the record. I genuinely didn't see this coming. The ceremony/knees up happened on sat in London. What a good night. Some great performances and Dj sets (Mark Mac smashed it) We put on a short acoustic set too. Big up to Andreya Triana for stepping up at the last minute to sing two of the tunes from the album.
