 * Next week I'll be performing over two nights at the Science Museum, London, alongside the premier of a new arrangement of Brian Eno's Apollo, introduced by Brian Eno himself on both nights. Iris Garrelfs is also performing. My set will be alongside the actual Apollo X capsule, and this event is part of the celebration of 40 years since the moon landings. Highlights will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 6. This event is half sold out so booking advised now I'm told. My piano-based music set-up at Cafe Oto, from late last year. * The [60] Project CD album was recently released on the Canadian DIGTALes label. Compiled by Matt Atkins, the album was constructed out of audio contributions from 60 artists including myself (in Si-cut.db guise), Christian Fennesz, David Toop, Terre Thaemlitz, Janek Schaefer, Steve Roden, Lawrence English, Vladislav Delay, Iris Garrelfs, Scanner and many others; a complete list is at http://www.60project.com/#contributors. * If you want to hear my [60] Project contribution, in its original state, you'll find it HERE, with a host of other FREE SI-CUT.DB DOWNLOADS. [some previously released obscurities, some unreleased]. *The March issue of the Wire magazine contains a free CD by Philippe Petit and friends - subscribers only, but its also given away to anyone mail-ordering a release directly from BiP_Hop - with a track by me and Mr Petit, alongside contributions from Simon Fisher Turner, Jason Forrest and lots more artists collaborating with Philippe. This celebrates 10 years of the Bip_Hop label. * In Sprawl news, our next event at Cafe Oto, which I will be playing with Iris Garrelfs, next to sets by Philippe Petit, AGF and Simon Fisher Turner, is on 25th March with full details and tickets now available HERE. February's Sprawl was fantastic, photos by Max Nathan HERE. Also, this year's SonicRecycler on May 9th, will feature Steve Beresford and James Blackshaw amongst others; more news soon on that via http://www.myspace.com/sonicrecycler and the Sprawl website* In other interweb news, some kind fans - and not me, I can assure you - have written two Wikipedia pages on me, a Douglas Benford one and a seperate si-cut.db one. Spot the deliberate, unnecessary and maybe inaccurate fact (which I am loathe to change, as it is funny; bless 'em). You can also become a fan - or a friend (I think you can see which one I am on this list!) - on Facebook. Meanwhile, my Twitter feed is actually my Facebook update too... (I can't remember how I even managed to set that up). recent music listening * The Books - Lost And Safe (Tomlab, CD) * The Necks - Chemist (ReR, CD) * The Necks - Mosquito (ReR, CD) * The Necks - See Through (Fish Of Milk, CD) * 7HG - Document 1 (Minimal Resource Manipulation, CD) * Rufus Wainwright - Want Two (Dreamworks, CD) * Tom Heasley & Toss Panos - Passages (Full Bleed, CD) * Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 6 in A Minor: Finale (BBC Radio 3, CD) * For Barry Ray - Gabriella Says (3" CD) * Various - That Fuzzy Feeling (Loaf, CD) * Various - Blood, Muscle & Air; The Intimate Voice (Sonic Arts Network, CD) * Various - TriMix (Innova, CD) * Jasper Leyland - Carbon Series Volume 5 (12x50, CD) * Whitehouse - Quality Time. * Its very unusual for me to get involved with pop music nowadays, but I was commissioned to work with Rod Thomas - a talented and very hard working young songsmith - to create some works, for performance and a release, at the end of last year. I ’stepped outside my comfort zone’ as my brother put it, and actually sat down at some acoustic instruments with Rod to write these songs, so they don’t really sound like, er, what I’m known for - but i did add some laptop processing too, for texture. We now have four of these tracks release on Itunes (3 songs and one instrumental). * Rod Thomas & Si-cut.db: ’Playroom’ ep, tracklisting: 1) Hope 2) Two Parter Part Two 3) Plastic Lullaby 4) Summer End * The rather radio-friendly documentary podcasts linked to the recording and live show are here: PODCAST ONE: click HEREPODCAST TWO ; click HERE ("henrytentpodcast.2") (Both appx 40 mins. They are slick sounding. I mean, Paul MacCartneys even on ’em! Entertaining at least. ) The original small movie, with our music, for last year’s ICA gig, by Matt Collett: * RECOMENDATIONS: This week, two gigs I am going to are CHRIS CUTLER/DAAN VANDEWALLE/SCANNER at the Luminaire, weds 12th and the Arctic Circle’s COLLEEN performance at Union Chapel, sun 16th. * ON MY NON-MUSIC BLOG: some rainbows, Merlin Mann@MacWorld, Michael bloody Crichton, and more Mars.
