But I also started a thread about the Indie Music Sale over on my newest website, http://www.solobasssteve.com - it's replacing my old forum as the place for discussion, chat, ideas, nonsense - things that don't really fit onto my main blog at http://www.stevelawson.net

Hi all

It's been a busy weekend of bassing, still getting ideas together for the new project (which may well see some kind of lovely concept mashup with an amazing painter friend if mine... watch this space!)

But for now, here are three more videos of ideas that are unfolding and ongoing. The first is a big sprawling ambient number:

The 2nd is the first one of this set of explorations to have a title. It's called 'The Slow Descent Into Madness':

Been on a bit of a creative roll of late, finding all kind of fun stuff to play.

Let's start with an older tune, that you may know cos it was up on my profile here for quite a while - The Kindness Of Strangers. This one on youtube is a medley, into another v. well known song... see how long it takes you to guess :)





At the same gig, I played a live version of my new tune that I posted here the other day. Here's the video of that:





And since then, I've been experimenting with some new features on the Looperlative - that the looping device that I use, and there are some amazing new 'replace' things you can do, replacing bits of whatever's in the loop - these three AudioBoo posts were about experimenting with those functions:

Hello :)

Anyone still here?

It may look like I've been really quiet of late... truth is it's only on myspace that things have been silent. On the rest of the web, I've been rather busy - best place to go for that is over to my website - www.stevelawson.net

But, I did think it was worth an update here to post a new bit of music that came up the other day - it was just recorded onto an iPod touch via a lovely podcasting app called AudioBoo... I was just playing, still trying to find some kind of direction for the new album, and this happened. It's not much, but I like it :)




hopefully there'll be more where that comes from soon...

I've just uploaded two new videos, recorded at a house concert in London in December:

Both of these were recorded on my Nokia N95 phone, using the built in mic as well. Amazing what you can do with a mobile phone these days! Enjoy!
