Here's an update from band member Michael Sherman.

"Hey everybody this is Michael Sherman, guitarist for A City Serene. I’m not too great with these updates so this will be short and sweet. I was released two days ago and have made it back to San Diego safe and sound. I’ve been resting up my terminator jaw and my weak left arm but I was the luckier one. I’ve never has been so grateful to be alive and grateful for my family and friends. And all you fans and people of San Diego have been awesome, your support and prayers have been so wonderful, thank you. I’m excited that Xander’s home and will hopefully be seeing him tomorrow. At this point I’m still thinking of Kris, Carly, Mike and Marc and hope that they come home soon. So please keep up the thoughts, prayers and support it really keeps us going.
Thank you."

On Sunday, September 13, San Diego based band A City Serene was involved in a major traffic accident resulting in all 6 members being air-lifted to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. The band, who had just released their Debut EP, The Art of Deceiving Perception, was on tour traveling north on Interstate 5 near Bakersfield when a truck traveling the opposite direction lost control, crossed the median, and hit their bus head on. The accident shut down the 5 freeway in both directions while crews cleared the accident and allowed life support to land.

All band members were sent to different hospitals, the closest being nearly three hours from San Diego. If they are lucky, they will be in the hospital for weeks instead of months, with lengthy rehabilition to follow. This will pose an enormous financial burden on all of the band's families, with expenses ranging from medical costs, to even the costs of having to stay away from home for such an extended period of time. Being the case, we have set up a link where anyone can donate to the families of the band to help in this time of need. Donations are accepted through Paypal, all major credit cards, and by e-check at:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8211669
(copy paste paypal link into your browser)

Furthermore, we are asking everyone to please visit the band's myspace page where they can stay updated on the status of the band, as well as spread the link to donate. The myspace page can be found at:

http://www.myspace.com/acityserene

If there is anything you can do to help spread the word about this tragic accident and get people on board to help out, you would be a hero to these kids, their families, as well as everyone involved in this experience. These kids were out living their dream, and doing a very good job at it too. Their entire EP can be streamed directly off of their myspace page and is currently onsale at:

http://acityserene.bigcartel.com

All major news stations in Bakersfield have been covering this accident. Any affiliates can contact them directly for any footage or information. You can watch the coverage of this story online at:

http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/59186907.html?video=YHI&t=a

All members of the band, who range in ages from 19-22, call San Diego home and had scheduled their homecoming show from tour at SOMA on October 3rd. The show will still go on, with all proceeds raised at the show going directly to the band's families. More information can be found on the SOMA website at www.somasd.com.

Thank you, and please keep the band and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
