Current mood: curious
Seasons change, and I have a strange feeling at times, that there are more than 4 seasons. Or rather, that the 4 seasons have a timetable of their own and are not held accountable to our calendars.
That's why it's been awhile since I have been on MySpace blogging. A pretty long while! Truth is, I just got tired of talking, thinking thoughts, and reasoning the how's, why's and wherefor's of blog style conversation. I started getting really tired of other people's opinions and even my own. My brain was really tired! haha, not kidding!
So... For a season I have been playing mindless games instead (a little place called Farm Town... I got my mansion! yea!), (lol) and also doing some creative projects on my house and nurturing relationships with local friends. I think it was a time for me to separate myself, and get a new perspective on things. I think that's what seasons are good for.
Anyway, I thought it would be good to write this and let my friends know that you are not forgotten and you are all valueable to me... very much so. I do value your opinions and am interested in what you have to say, and in your lives and troubles and well being. Oh! And I may have a thing of my own to say again once in a while!
That said... Ecclesiastes 3A Time for Everything 1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
So... How've you been? I really want to know! :)

The Good Pleasure of God January 13, 2009 "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power." (2 Thessalonians 1:11) God's good pleasure withholds judgment! "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness" ( Lamentations 3:22-23). "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works" ( Psalm 145:8-9). God's good pleasure is to do good to His people! "The LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly" ( Psalm 84:11). " Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart" ( Psalm 37:3-4). God's good pleasure forgives us! "Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea" ( Micah 7:18-19). God's good pleasure is to bring about His will! "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. . . . So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" ( Isaiah 55:9-11). "The Lord . . . is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" ( 2 Peter 3:9). When we live in God's good pleasure, we are able to "delight" in Him. HMM III

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances]. (Proverbs 15:15 Amp) 15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast. (King James & American Standard)
15 A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song. (The Message)
15The poor have a hard life, but being content is as good as an endless feast. (Contemporary English Version)
15 For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast. (New Living Translation)
My thoughts are this... We have a choice in how we respond to the pressures and circumstances of life. We can choose to be "desponding", (as the Amplified version states), or we can choose contentment, happiness, cheerfulness and a "merry" heart, regardless of situations through trusting in our God and His infallible Word! Trusting Him is what has saved us, now why not live it out through Faith in our daily lives?!
We are certainly living in stressful times, and fears of the unknown can shake us or we can trust in what we believe. The ROCK will not be moved! We are on solid ground even if the world we live in has sand traps everywhere. Where the attitude goes first... the man will follow! Don't let your days be "desponding"! Choose to sing in the face of your fears and doubts. "Our God is an Awesome God, He Reigns, from heaven above with wisdom, power and Love, Our God is an Awesome God!
Here's to a better "TODAY"!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Be Encouraged : )

Category: Life
Hi Everyone. :) Wow, I don't know about you, but it's time to slow down before I fall down! Doing too much at too fast a pace is wearying, and is beginning to make the important things BLURRY! It can be destructive!
If you're like me and live in a state where there is a seasonal change in the weather that abruptly changes your daily routine... and add to that being a gardener ( mmm.. hmmm :-) which triples your work load at the Fall/Winter transition... you have just been through a flurry of activities, plans and changes in the last 2 months that have your head spinning ...now that Christmas is over.
-I thought- I could stay on top of everything and for a while it was working... but then work and life begins to suffer when I am too tired to perform at 100% anymore! I can only push myself for so long! Lets face it-- It's extreemly difficult to do everything simultaneously on a continuous basis! Sooo, I basically had a melt down, breakdown... what ever you want to call it, this morning. I feel as though I am letting people down, friends, family etc... Part of it is that I have procrastinated a bit too much at different times, and have let myself get behind... then the holidays come and I go into overdrive to catch up!... then burn out! Not good! :-(
Well, I sobbed to the Lord this morning, after getting irritable with family beyond my ability to restrain.... (yeah, I shudder to think of the display if schedules didn't come to the rescue!). So left here alone at my home, I rent the heavens for some help... with ME! Of course you know how GOOD the Lord is... He was right there with the answer I needed! Exactly what I asked Him for.... His presence. (In case you don't know it... everything you need is RIGHT THERE, in His presence!)
Now... everyone is coming out with their blogs about the New Year.... and I'm thinking a lot about that too, of Course! I am certainly making my resolutions and plans, for sure, but that is not what this blog is about tonight. It's about the Answer for TODAY.
Today, I was reminded that the Lord has said to us, "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."-Matt 11:28 I love the word studies of the original Greek words, and I needed to know this piece of scripture better this morning, so here's what I found...
"Come unto Me..." from the Greek word deute, a greeting that literally means, "Come-- come now! I am inviting you to come!" ...a joyful welcomeing! (FROM JESUS!)
The word "labour" is the Greek word kopiao, which describes a person who has become completely exhausted due to non-stop, continous work. This is obviously referring to a person who is doing his best to do everything that is on his/her plate who is required to work hard all the time. That's why Jesus beckons this person to come to Him!
He also calls for the "heavy laden"... these words are from the word phortidzo, depicting a person who is carrying a heavy load on his back... whether it is Work, Family, Financial Stresses, or some Personal Burdens. Jesus "pleads" for this person to come to Him!
Jesus promises "rest". This word is from anapauo, a word that means refresh, rejuvinate, reinvigorate, or to revitalize. The Lord is the source of energy... LIFE (you know... the ETERNAL kind, as in He NEVER grows weary, never needs sleep?)
The only way... we can remain continually effective is to make sure we spend time with Him. But (!), to think we can just run into His presence and get all we need in 5 minutes of time, stolen from our own schedules and plans and haphazard lifestyles is a wayward and unfruitful path! Not realistic at all! We need to schedule time to -really- be alone with Him, -really- talk to Him, -really- pour out all our stressers and needs to Him. We need to go into His presence with the determination that we are going to stay until we receive what we are seeking. No cutting our time with Him short! We need a full charge, don't we? I know I do. I just can't quit until He blesses me. Just call me Israel ...or Jacob, I guess, ...but I do wrestle with God!
Anyway, this morning I told the Lord that I was preparing to come to Him and open His Word, and I told Him that I needed a refreshing (and I wasn't being quiet or cute about it!) and He met me with this word study, that really BLESSED me and charged me up ;)
I really believe that the ONE biggest thing that the Chirch needs today is to learn how to rest in His presence. Notice that Jesus doesn't say that He will come to you... but that you are to come to Him. We have to choose to come to Him and make a deliberate choice to wait upon Him, and He promises that we WILL find rest. I believe this is the key for Christians today to remain steadfast in our life to the Lord. Spending time with the Lord is not a OPTION.... it's the ANSWER!
My Prayer: Lord, where would I be without you? You are Life, and all life is from You and connected to You! I know that You have been calling to me, beckoning me to COME to You. I am so thankful that today when I called to You, You faithfully met me, no matter how many times I have ignored my need for You! I pray for myself and for the Body of Christ, that we will make seeking You the top priority for each day. May we daily confess before You that the only way we can be continually effective is to spend precious TIME withYou.
I pray for myself, and the Body of Christ, that we will quiet ourselves from the commotion of life and get into Your presence long enough to get everything we need from You to stay on schedule and on track with everything You have called us to do, and You will fill us with your LIFE, and we will be strengthened, refreshed, recharged and empowered to be Your Children and a light in this world for Your Name sake.
In the precious Name of my Lord Jesus, Amen
Well, my friends... I hope you have been blessed as I was with this that the Lord gave me this morning. I waited all day to share it, because of other obligations. I have to say that it was just as powerful to me tonight as it was this morning :) God is so good that way!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I had to say... It means so much to me, ...especially if I can share some encouragement :-) Always be Encouraged ...in Him Much Love ~Rainie

You know there is a movie that came out recently called 'Four Christmases'. I have seen it, and it can be funny, or it can be stressful, as an overall effect. (if you know what I mean!)
Now, this movie demonstrates, that everyone tends to have their own idea of how they want to spend Christmas. What Christmas day means to each of us is differently expressed. Some people are very traditional (but traditions differ from family to family!), and others like to mix it up, do something different each year.
The reason I am taking this poll, is because for many years now, I have been stretched and pulled by my husbands, and my, two families, (not to mention our grown kids have their ideas...) and there is always a debate and a struggle to please everyone. 'Whose house, what day, which grandparents.' (I'm not even talking about the gift giving, or no gift-giving dilemma!) OK I admit, I am venting --I'm pretty sure some of you can relate
I know what -I- would like to do, and that is to just -stay home with my kids and husband on Christmas day, and settle in to some RARE family time together. Intimate family time, where we can be who WE are... Christians who want to love on Jesus the way WE do... (our extended families do not) , on this day that is set aside to Honor and Thank Him, for coming as a flesh and blood child to become One of Us! ...and walk among us, and suffer for us, and BLESS us! And, (have you ever noticed), Christmas is the ONE day of this season where if you stop and stand still for one moment, you can actually hear and feel the PEACE -that He brings. So! I personally, don't like interrupting that day with scrambling around, and packing into the car and traveling to get-togethers. I just, for once in my life, would LOVE to stay HOME ...and enjoy my Lord and my family. ...please, don't get me wrong... I LOVE, love, LOVE getting together with extended family and friends for Christmas celebrating, dinners, and reunions, etc! ...but on another day, another evening, ...just on another day other than Christmas Day.
So, there's my story, (minus the drama) and I would love to hear yours! Really! Where and how do YOU dream of spending your time on Christmas day... and with whom? before I forget...
Merry Christmas! :)

The following is a news letter I got from Milwaukee Teen Challenge. It is the testimony of a woman who suffered with an addiction to alcohol, and lost everything, but then the Lord intervened. It brought me to tears.
Please read Libby's story...
I grew up in a loving home. My parents wanted the best for me but demanded a lot. For our family, church was a social event and fashion show. I battled with bulemia and was promiscuous.
For the eleven years, my life was dominated by secret drinking. I had a successful career and a husband my parents approved of, a perfect daughter, and a perfect house. But, I was a miserable alcoholic.
Eight secular treatment centers, several stays in jail for alcohol related offences, battery, disorderly conduct, and 3 OUI's, and my first marriage ended in divorce and I lost (custody of) my daughter when she was 5.
My life began crumbling in June 2007 when my husband totaled our car. I moved in with some people I barely knew, so that I could walk to work. Our home was burglarized while my husband was in jail and my mew roommates kicked me out suddenly because I secluded myself and drank alone in my room every day.
After 2 nights in a shelter, I was forced to give up my bed to a woman in greater need. I went to a filthy motel. When my daughter changed her mind about visiting me, I fell apart and started drinking round the clock, ending up in the hospital with internal bleeding.
I intended to return to work after I was released from the hospital. What happened next can only be explained by God. I picked up the phone without concious thought and called information for the number for Teen Challenge in Milwaukee. That call started an avalanche of surrender!
Jesus is not only my Savior, but my Lord. God has a plan for my life, not me. When I came to Teen Challenge, my parents softened toward me and I got respect, support, and encouragement! :)
The scripture I stand on is: Lamentations 3:55-58, "I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit. You came near when I called you and you said, 'Do not fear.' O Lord, you took up my case; you redeemed my life."
*from Teen Challenge staff: "Libby worked in the office throughout her time at Milwaukee Teen Challenge and was a blessing to us helping in the many areas in which she was amazingly good. She is now back with her family."
Libby's story brought me to tears, because I remember what my brother and sister went through in their addictions. It is the desire of my heart to be a hand up to anyone I can that has this life controlling problem. I lost my brother and my sister to the damage of their alcohol consumption, even though they went to Teen Challenge. They both LOVED the program, and both of them even stayed on as a staff member after graduation. Sometimes people do go back to what's familiar, even if it means death, but I still have hope for others who want to change their lives.
I hope this touches someone's life today. There is hope in Christ, and through Teen Challenge there is TIME, and opportunity and support for those who have no place else to turn, and living on 'borrowed time'. They need our prayers and support, both the addicts and Teen Challenge Ministries. Thanks for reading this. :)
God Bless you richly... ~Rainie

Remarks With Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni Secretary Condoleezza Rice Tel Aviv, Israel November 6, 2008
FOREIGN MINISTER LIVNI: Hello. I would like to welcome my friend and colleague, Secretary Rice, in the region once again. You come at a time when the election process in the United States has ended, while here it is just beginning.
Let me first express my personal admiration and congratulations for the wonderful example of a democratic process that the elections in the United States represent. This is a source of inspiration to millions around the world. I would of course like to congratulate President-elect Barack Obama on his historic victory, a man who has impressed Israelis during his visits here and throughout the campaign by what he represents. I would like also to express our appreciation to Senator John McCain for his leadership and his longstanding friendship, which we never take for granted.
Israel and the United States have a unique strategic relationship which enjoys bipartisan support and is based on common interest, but more importantly on shared values. We look forward to working with the new U.S. administration when it comes into office in order to enhance the unique and unshakable U.S.-Israel partnership, a partnership which has truly been strengthened in the last eight years under the leadership and vision of President Bush, which is based on deep and uncompromising values. His contribution will never be forgotten.
Secretary Rice and I will discuss today regional issues, including Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian track. We remain committed to the Annapolis process and to the solution of two states for two peoples. I know that there are doubts about this process. I think we need to remember that Annapolis came after seven years of intifada and terror, and after Hamas took control in Gaza. It created, after years, a framework of continuing dialogue and developing basis – and developed basic trust between the parties. It is important that we preserve the process within the structure that we have created. We are realistic enough to recognize the reality we face, but we are also determined enough to change it.
I believe deeply that stagnation is not in Israel's interest, and it cannot be our policy. The Israeli people do not need slogans; they need solutions. And any solution must provide an answer to Israel's interest: first and foremost, security and Annapolis and the process, preserve it.
We are committed to negotiations with the Palestinians not as a favor to anyone, but in order to ensure a peaceful and secure future for Israel and for the Israelis. We also expect the continued process to be made on the ground to ensure that we have a peaceful and responsible neighbor, rather than a terror state or a failed state on our borders.
The comprehensive approach of the Annapolis process, which combines negotiations with steps on the ground and a firm stand against extremism, has made the recent progress we have seen on the ground possible; to take one example, such – a place such as Jenin that was once the capitol of terror and is now a source of hope.
Finally, I want to make clear that we can never compromise on confronting terrorism and extremism, whether it be from Iran, Hamas, or Hezbollah, so that we guarantee that the moderates and not the extremists of this region dictate the agenda.
I am looking forward to the opportunity next week to brief the Quartet together with our Palestinian partners. While the negotiations themselves are bilateral and confidential, the unique quartet meeting will be an opportunity for the parties to express their commitment to negotiations and the Annapolis process, to share their assessments of the serious of this talk and the challenges ahead, and to maintain and enhance international support for the process in accordance with the guiding principles that the parties themselves have agreed between them. Thank you.
SECRETARY RICE: Well, thank you very much, Tzipi, for welcoming here to the region. Let me welcome you also to the residence of our Ambassador here. I look forward to our discussions, but I first want to thank you for the very kind and moving words that you've just expressed about the American elections, because this is something that Americans feel very deeply.
I think that what we saw yesterday -- or is it the day before now – on Tuesday, November 4th is evidence that democracy is not something that is born and then you're done with it. It is something that you have to continue to work, you have to continue to perfect. You build it brick-by-brick, day-by-day, but it is a process in which human dignity can overcome old wounds and old differences. And particularly as an African American, as I've said, it was an historic day, but it shows why democracy, a value that Israel and the United States share, is really only the answer – the only answer for human beings worldwide. And I know that that is something that we deeply believe, the two of us.
We will have a discussion of the negotiations between you and the Palestinians, as well as regional issues. I just want to note that the Annapolis conference launched the first serious negotiating between Israel and the Palestinians in nearly a decade. Over the last year, the parties have really bravely demonstrated their commitment to substantive negotiations in an effort to reach a comprehensive peace covering all of the core issues. I want to thank you for your leadership as the chief negotiator for Israel and as Foreign Minister, and to assure you that the United States will continue to support and facilitate the efforts of the parties to reach a lasting peace.
We have a national interest – the United States has a national interest in sustaining that progress. We believe that it is essential for the security of Israel, to which the United States is deeply committed.
President Bush's vision of a Palestinian state at peace with Israel doesn't come and will not come in a single, dramatic moment, but as the result of methodical, sustained, sincere initiative to conclude a final agreement that benefits both Israelis and Palestinians. And such an initiative is now underway with the Annapolis process, and it should be carried forward.
It is critical that we continue to advance the pillars established at the Annapolis conference, and those pillars were bilateral negotiations, improvements in the situation on the ground, and institution building for the future Palestinian state, as well as marshaling international and especially regional support for the process.
We will have an unprecedented meeting of the Quartet in a few days to hear directly from Israeli and Palestinian participants in the negotiations. The Quartet expects to hear about the parties' commitment to the Annapolis process, their views on the progress that has been made on the key pillars, and their desire for international support in continuing their efforts.
We expect that the parties will reaffirm their commitment to a two-state solution, to negotiations toward that goal, and to a process that builds on the important progress that has been achieved in previous agreements and understandings.
Let me just close by saying that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one that should be resolved and should be ended because it will be so important to Palestinians to live in their own state and for Israel to live alongside a democratic neighbor who can help to secure the peace.
The United States is fully committed to that goal, and I remain committed to that goal until the day that we leave office. But I want to say that I am very grateful that in the last almost eight years now we have been able to move a situation which, at the time when President Bush came to office, was the second intifada, with hundreds of Israelis under siege, with Palestinians dying in large numbers, a situation in which the thought of peace between Israelis and Palestinians was one that was quite distant with the undeniably important, but ultimately unsuccessful, attempt to reach peace at Camp David.
President Bush has been devoted since then to bringing about a two-state solution on the right basis, through strong support for Israel's security, for a belief that no Palestinian state could ever be born of terror, for a belief that democratic institutions would be important to the future of the Palestinian people, as they would be important to the future of the Israeli people, and a belief that the Arab neighbors would need to come to terms, finally, with Israel's permanent existence in this neighborhood, and with an international community that would support efforts by the parties themselves to finally resolve their conflict. And I believe that those principles remain the basis and the foundation on which this conflict will finally end.
Thank you very much.
FOREIGN MINISTER LIVNI: Thank you.
MODERATOR: (Inaudible) got time (inaudible).
SECRETARY RICE: (Inaudible) questions. Yeah.
QUESTION: Madame Secretary, do you think that your service as Secretary of State, one of the highest jobs in the United States, as Secretary Powell's job, was one of the elements that led to a change of hearts in the American people and led to the election of Barak Obama as the first African American president? And what you will recommend him to do? You know that he is for engagement. Will you recommend him to engage on the Syrian track or to neglect it totally, ignore it, as you did?
And if I can ask a question for our Foreign Minister, Foreign Minister Livni, what you will recommend Madame Secretary to do until the practical change of governments, and what do you think –
FOREIGN MINISTER LIVNI: (Inaudible) advice. (Laughter.)
QUESTION: What do you think in that regard about the idea of American interests section in Iran?
SECRETARY RICE: Let me just say that I will give my advice and assessment to my successor when that person is named, and I'll do so privately, and then I will happily return to California and comment no further on the matter.
It's in the great American tradition that when there is an election and when a new president is installed and inaugurated, it then becomes the – that government that is responsible for American foreign policy. But there are some perennials, some constants in American foreign policy, and the friendship for Israel is a constant. It has been since Harry Truman recognized the state of Israel in 1948, and I don't think that that's going to change.
As to the question about the road that paved the way for President-elect Obama, he was an extraordinary candidate, he is an inspirational leader, and I think that that is the first thing to say. I do think that America has been on a long journey to overcome what I have personally called its birth defect of slavery, a birth defect that was not fully overcome, because when I was a child in Birmingham, Alabama there were still laws that kept the races separate. And it's been a journey. It's been a journey of the civil rights movement, of great civil rights leaders. I think of Colin Powell as the first black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which I think was a landmark for the United States. I think it was a landmark to have then the Secretary of State and National Security Advisor both be black at the same time, and then back-to-back black Secretaries of State. So I think there has been a process of overcoming this, but let's not take anything away from the enormous leap that Tuesday, November 4th was, from whatever basis we were on November 3rd.
FOREIGN MINISTER LIVNI: Thanks. Well, it's not for me to advise Secretary Rice, even though you said that you are going to be devoted to the process until the last day in the office. I'm sure that you are going to be devoted even later because this is something that need to be to understand. In the last eight years, in different positions of – for both of us, I discovered that in our talks that Secretary Rice really is devoted to make a change in the region, in an understanding that peace and security is not only an American interest, but this is an Israeli interest and a Palestinian interest as well. And during these years, Secretary Rice will meet with others, try to see what are the gaps, where we stand, what are the interest of the parties, what are the interest of Israel, what are the concerns of Israel, in terms of security, in terms of the fear and maybe the need to create a state that -- which is not a terror state.
So there's a need to fight terrorism on the other side of the future borders within the Palestinian Authority. And this comes from a determination and understanding and something that I believe goes beyond the duty. And it is something that – and this is the reason why I believe that I'm sure that it's not part of the job, but this is something that's part of you as a person.
And this is part of the determination and this is part of our determination because of the interest of the state of Israel, not as a favor to anyone; as I said, not even to the United States of America, but because this is something that the Israelis deserve to live in peace and security. And I do believe that the continuousness of the process is crucial for us Israelis, for the Palestinians as well. And I do believe that in doing it in the right way, we can have the to support of the international community.
So the idea is to continue the process in a manner in which we decided between us before, Israelis and Palestinians, in accordance. And it was agreed also by the United States of America and others. It is bilateral. We need to continue it. We need to find the way to continue it regardless to the question of timelines or timetables or changes of administration in the United States of America. This is crucial for both sides to understand that this is what we need to address. And I'm sure that during the next few months, this is what we are going to continue to do.
And I know that Secretary Rice, as other leaders within the international community, know where Israel stands. And when Israel sent a message, and not only a message, a oral message, but something that is being done during this process, saying that a process is part of our interest, we want to continue this process as long as it preserve our own interest, especially when it comes to security. The world can support this process without pressuring Israel to do something which is against its interest. And I believe that this is a change that Israel during the last eight years, have done within the international community, because there was -- there was sometimes old perceptions and images of Israel. And I think that now, it is clear to the international community that Israel is serious, that stagnation is not our policy, and we are determined to continue the peace process as long as it preserve our needs and interest.
When it comes to other topics on the agenda, this Administration -- I was talking about President Bush and also Secretary Rice -- represent the understanding that we need to fight extremism. Iran is an example of a state that represent this kind of extreme ideology. We need to continue the pressure on Iran. And I believe that the idea of continuing the pressure comes with more intense and effective sanctions on the Iranian -- and I think that this gives an answer to your second question as well.
MR. MCCORMACK: Last questioner, Matt Lee.
QUESTION: I'm sorry. You spoke earlier about how you wanted to lay a firm foundation of solid groundwork for the next administrations, both the United States and Israel. Well, what exactly do you mean by that? Are you talking about a document that goes beyond just a simple reaffirmation of the Annapolis goals? Are you looking for something more where the parties will say exactly how far they've gotten and that that will be a starting point? I think the question is: What are you hoping to present to the Obama Administration as: Here's where you can begin?
SECRETARY RICE: Look, I am not going to try to judge what the parties will want to do during this process and as it unfolds. As I understand it, they are going to – before the Quartet and I'm sure throughout the – this next several months – affirm that the Annapolis process and the framework that it establishes is indeed the basis on which they believe they can come to a resolution of their conflict regardless of timetable, regardless of anyone's timetable. And I think what's extremely important in this is there's a lot of focus on the political negotiations. And that is rightly so, because one has to have an answer to the core issues in order to establish a Palestinian state. That is quite clear. And I have been impressed at the seriousness of the parties in discussing how a Palestinian state might come into being.
But it is also the case that the pillars of the creation of reliable Palestinian institutions that can deliver for the Palestinian people and can be a stabilizing factor in this region when a Palestinian State is born, that that is an extremely important pillar. And to my knowledge, this is really the first time that a peace process has tried to build from both the ground up and from the top down. And I believe that that is one of the other elements that Annapolis brings.
And there has not been very much attention to the hard work that the Palestinians, under Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, has been doing to build those institutions of the future Palestinian state. And so that's another piece that I think has to be passed on. It is also the case that there are Roadmap obligations that the parties undertook some time ago. And the Annapolis process envisions that an agreement is really not going to be feasible unless those Roadmap obligations are met, and that's when we talked about it being subject to Roadmap obligations. That's another piece of this process. And finally, that there needed to be a framework of international and regional support for the parties to conclude. So I don't want to try to prejudge how this might all be, in a sense, passed on.
But I do want to emphasize again that in 2001, when President Bush came into office, we had a raging intifada, we had Israel under siege. There were still people who talked about, well, there are freedom fighters and then there are terrorists. The President laid that aside for all time. When we came into office, I do not think that you had the breadth of opinion in Israel in support of the two-state solution. I would cite, for instance, Prime Minister Sharon's Herzylia speech which established new ground.
And so a lot has happened to change the environment. There is a very serious negotiation going on. I know that because I've sat with the parties. There is other serious work going on. How we express that and turn it over to those who will have to -- in any case, even when an agreement is signed, there will be a lot of work to do to implement it and to make sure that it works. And so how we do that, I think, is still an open question. But I am so confident that the Annapolis process that was launched, now less than a year ago, is an extraordinary breakthrough in the history of this conflict.
Thank you.

Tomorrow could be a very sad day in America's history.
Pray and Vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin!
The Night Before Elections
'Twas the night before elections And all through the town Tempers were flaring Emotions all up and down! I, in my bathrobe With a cat in my lap Had cut off the TV Tired of political crap. When all of a sudden There arose such a noise I peered out of my window Saw Obama and his boys They had come for my wallet They wanted my pay To give to the others Who had not worked a day! He snatched up my money And quick as a wink Jumped back on his bandwagon As I gagged from the stink He then rallied his henchmen Who were pulling his cart I could tell they were out To tear my country apart! ' On Fannie, on Freddie, On Biden and Ayers! On Acorn, On Pelosi' He screamed at the pairs! They took off for his cause And as he flew out of sight I heard him laugh at the nation Who wouldn't stand up and fight! So I leave you to think On this one final note- IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Yup, this is my 3rd, 3-day fast in 3 weeks. I don't really remember why I dropped the ball in the blog dept on day 3 of week One of fasting... I just haven't really had much time to be on MySpace all Summer, and things haven't slowed down yet.
Sooo, I'll cover what I remember of week one....
The 3rd day was spent in a hospital waitingroom for my Mom, who was getting an elective surgery... (which helped keep me busy away from home). I got a lot of reading done in the waiting room... found some AWSOME Recipes!!! LOL! When I went home that night, I was getting uncomfortable sensations in my legs mostly... but also in all my muscles... It was like I was on speed or at least Benedryl (which I never take unless I HAVE to, because I HATE the feeling). I was desperate to quit the fast because of that. ( but you know there will be toxins being cleansed and some uncomfortable feelings in any fast!)
I found out that I was probably drinking too much water! I had washed out my electrolytes and potassium, was having restless leg syndrome all over my body! I managed to sleep through the night pretty well. No headache! :) So I added a potassium supplement to my regime, and continued drinking at least 3 quarts of water a day.
It actually felt great the day I broke my fast the first week ...with my first meal the next morning of grits, english muffin with butter and coffee... I was in heaven! I had so much energy and a very positive and twinkly (lol) attitude. I dove into some paper work that had been piling up and got a lot accomplished. I felt like a big heavy, wet blanket had been lifted off my spirit and body! I wish I had written about it at the time, but oh well... I know my brain fog had greatly cleared! That ment soooo much!
Ahead to today... week 3 day 3
At week 3, day 3 I am feeling so much more clear headed. The fog is vanishing by degrees. I feel lighter in so many ways... I want to try to explain what these 3 weeks have done for me... (9 days total fasting over 3 week period)
I had really been feeling oppressed, stuck in a rut I couldn't describe, sad, but almost emotionless, unable to show emotion of joy or happiness. Just felt totally stressed out (and this had been a struggle all through this summer). I was praying about my state to the Lord and He gave me an image- like a video.
Visuals always speak a thousand words you know! I saw myself, in a 'hole'... of sorts, and over the course of time, fine debris began to silt in around me. I could see the years replaying in my mind (maybe the last 10, definately the last THREE), and as the silt built up around me I became more and more immobilized... crowded and 'packed in' with all the debris of life, into my little 'hole'. I saw my self going through all the phases of stress that the last several years had brought into my life.. ( and trust me there was QUITE a bit of real-life stress) and in this visual the Lord gave me, I was seeing how the -effects- of that stress had packed me into a tight place where I truely felt immobilized.
Yesterday I was talking to a friend about my fasting experience and what it was doing for me. I told her that I was being washed from the inside out, and that the debris, like sand, that was so heavy was being washed away and I was being freed up, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Like I said... it's like a giant wet blanket has been lifted off of me. Each fast just improves my state more and more :)
I am so Glad that our God knows that we need to fast, and that He gives us so many examples to follow. He is the source of my inspiration and my success. Every time I get myself into a hole like this,,, hopefully before the need ever gets this bad again, I am going to take the time to let Him clean me out. Not eating is really a BREEZE compared to being immobilized and weighted down with the debris of life crowding out all your spiritual and mental AND physical freedoms.
I am more spiritally exhilerated after week 3 of fasting than the previous 2 fasts. The first week really helped me mentally get sharper, week 2... I lost 6 lbs (that always feels good! :), and this week it's a return of a greater desire to follow Him more closely... once again. (plus 4 more lbs! :) He is the cat's meow people! I have such an incredible insatiable desire for more of Him right now :) I can hardly contain it! I still have the rest of the day today, before I break fast tomorrow morning, so I am hoping for some good fruit as I pray for each of you who are reading this to be blessed. Thanks for joining me, and for your prayers. You are a blessing to me... BIG time! :)
Be Blessed and Encouraged In Christ,
Peace, and Much LOVE!!! :)

Well, I really had to bite the bullet today... The day started out headache free, but with seeming brain fog, that made me want to sleep. BUT... I had to work so there was a struggle. I just got busy with the work at hand and made it through. A little gardening outdoors helped.
The fact that I have a new puppy, who needs to learn to walk on a leash helped. I got out and took her for the trial walk and ran into a friend who walks her dog 4 or 5 times a day. Another female dog... and she, Bailey-the dog, didn't take to my Sarah very kindly. But we each kept our pets at our sides and they were polite enough to sit, while we humans talked. Then, I found out that I had to walk faster than Sarah, to get her to follow me, instead of trip me or tangle up my feet :).
I had a huge desire to eat today, I could actually smell and taste food... and the thought of just having some coffee was really berating me... like "caaaam aan, you want a cup of coffee.. just get a cup of coffee!". I had moments where I could have called the whole thing off... but I didn't. (yea!)
Today I will have drank a gallon of water. On my way to my Mom's to help her plant a tree, I bought a 1 liter bottle of Smart Water. It was the first cold water I had drank, and it was good. Gave me some electrolytes too. So I got some book work done, ran to the bank, and mailed a letter to Koree. She is ALSO fasting up in Teen Challenge! :) GO KOREE!!!! So it's me, Des and Koreena, all fasting together.
Thankfully I haven't had to cook for "Mr" yet. He has been eating late and/or coming home and having cereal. After today I think I will be able to cook or prepare food without temptation, (hopefully- i hate temptation!)
So, now I shall read the Bible and prepare for tomorrow mornings prayer gathering. (slight headache coming on, and some weakness in my legs, a bit sleepy, but otherwise, doing pretty well--normal)

I've been wanting to fast for the last month. Feeling a 'need' to fast, but too many things going on, from A-Z, including visiting Family from Texas. Now it seems that the Lord has cleared a space of time, and with much prayer and pressing need, I entered into a fasting state of mind this morning, ... or maybe last night after my last bowl of Special K with strawberries and soy milk.
Today has been a heart wrenching day. (there are other reasons for this, not the abstinance from coffee, or food). Truth is I don't really know any specific reason why I feel so crushed in my spirit. I just know I need to edit my life, and I am starting out by fully focusing on the Lord.
I was reading Hosea last night. What an amazing book. I think I will begin this fast with a study of this book. I have questions, a Bible and a notebook. I am hoping this gets real interesting.
Another thought, ...the Lord told me several months ago that He has heard all my prayers for my kids and family, and loved ones... and He wanted me to focus on myself. I wish I could see what He sees, but then again, that is probably what has me so crushed in spirit, inside I know He wants more from me, for me.
Pastor D, you mentioned a week ago in church that there was someone who had a perpetual spirit of sorrow. Well, with all the loss in my family, I thought there was no other way to feel. But I won't have it any more. It's time for a new way to live, and I am really ready. This has to break. Time to press in.
5:00 PM, and no hunger! That's helpful! :) Actually the thought of coffee this morning (because I automatically think of that) was not attractive because I didn't want the chemical rush... I was concerned that I would not enter a true fasting state if I have caffeine.
My headache is slight, but very tolerable. I have drunk about 2 quarts of water... I have a 3 liter jug that I am filling in the morning and drinking through the day. God had to answer my prayers for help with this, because the water tastes real good, and nothing else sounds interesting. I even just gave my Mom all my leftover spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage, and my leftover tortellini. She was thrilled! :) It was really good sauce! I can make more ...later.
Well, that's about it. I had a rough morning, but the afternoon has seen my state improve. I am relieved, thanks for the prayers that some of you said and sent me! They are much appreciated.

Receive And Keep Divine Health For Yourself
Live A Long and Full Life
Get Delivered From Bad Habits
Have God Reveal Deep Spiritual Concepts To You
Become A "Chosen Vessel" For God
Do The Normal Work Of 10 Years In One Year
WOULD YOU DO IT?
If you answered yes, then you need to FAST.
All of these things are reported to have happened to people who fasted and prayed and waited on God.
WHAT IS FASTING?
Webster: "To abstain from food; period of such abstention."
Adding to Mr. Webster's definition: To fast means to abstain from receiving into the body anything, in the way, that has any "food value".
You must only drink water.
Any other way is not fasting…but starving, or dieting.
SPIRITUAL FASTING IS FASTING WITH PRAYER
This is the most powerful agent known to man, FASTING AND PRAYER. Jesus said that there would be some things possible only by fasting and prayer:
Matt. 17:21 "howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."
This Spiritual power is within the grasp of all followers of Christ. It is not taught and used in very many instances. We live in an age when the world is concerned with POWER. Great and vast amounts of POWER are being conserved and sought after.
BUT…What about SPIRITUAL POWER?
Fasting and Praying is a Means to Accelerate Our Spitirtual Progress and POWER.
A ten day fast could give us such a deep and wonderful experience with God that ten days in fasting and prayer could last us a life time. Remember the day of Pentecost.
THINGS YOU CAN EXPECT IN A FAST The first three days are the hardest.
All you will think about is food.
It is possible to have visions during this time.
Three days is just starting your fast.
Hunger starts to leave you after 3 days, if you are truly fasting.
Taking anything into your body but water will only keep you hungry.
A true "fast" is going into a "state of fasting," not just doing without food.
Your fast is over when your hunger returns. That may be three days, two weeks, or a month. If you don't start eating then, you will starve to death.
During a long fast the built-up toxins, poisons, and fat tissue will be burned up. The body actually "burns up" old decayed food particles. The skin is cleansed, and the kidneys are flushed out. This is why much water must be taken during a fast (at least 8 glasses a day). The lungs unload all the accumulated poisons.
A person fasting will some times smell bad, it is the poisons and dead matter coming out of their skin and breath.
TAKE CARE IN BREAKING YOUR FAST

2 Thessalonians 3:5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God's Love and Christ's perseverance.

When I want to define an idea, like Love, and to understand what it means... I go to the 'source'. Everything I believe, know and proclaim, is filtered through the Word of God. This is my source. The Bible, the infallible Word of God.
Let's talk about : Love has come to be a very misunderstood concept. We often mistake many feelings, emotions and interpretations to the word, Love that confuse the TRUTH about what God calls "Love".
There is no greater Love than the Love of God. He is the source of Love. Love comes from Him, or we would never experience it... ever. Because He is, we Love.
Because He is Eternal... and He is Love... Love Never Fails!
God forms of Love: koinonia - Christian fellowship or communion with God or with fellow Christians; said in particular of the early Christian community. fellowship, family - an association of people who share common beliefs or activities; "the message was addressed not just to employees but to every member of the company family"; "the church *welcomed new members into its fellowship" Agape - 1.the love of God or Christ for humankind. 2.the love of Christians for other persons, corresponding to the love of God for humankind. 3.unselfish love of one person for another without sexual implications; brotherly love.
What about "Tough Love" ???
Hebrews 12: 6-8 ...because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
...as an emotion, has the power to lead you! And, where your heart is, your mind and life will follow. This is a CAUTION to us! The Bible wisely warns us that "the Love of money" is a root of all evil"! ....now would that be "Love" in Your eyes? I would call it Idolatry.
It needs to be explained that there are some 'things' that some of us use the term "Love" to describe, that are cloaked in the shadows of the definitions that play word games in our minds and lives. LOVE as a guise? Hmmm...

One that makes me sad :(, because it misleads undiscerning minds, is a common statement that has become a banner for illicit Love, and is a misleading and inappropriate statement, "Love is Love". I'm sure that everyone knows that this is an obvious attempt to validate practicing a form of affection that attempts to cause us to... accept being illicit with Love. I am not trying to attack anyone here, just trying to get to the defination of true Love:
What we need, in order to embrace what is the highest truth about Love, to enable a greater freedom, and eliminate the ideologies that steal from what is perfect... is to see what perfect Love is.
This is a scripture definition of the Love of God, which is the Highest form of Love. It's beginning and ending are with God and in Him, and come from the heart, mind and will of God. His Love is extended to this world, without repentance or grievous expectations, through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.
Another thing about God's Love is it is so amazing... that even when He knows we have turned our affections elsewhere... He comes after us! His Love is jealous for us! See the following verse from Hosea: Hosea 3:1 The LORD said to me, "Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes."
Do you know the Love of God? The Love of God is perfect. Perfect Love cast out all fear... 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
If you haven't experienced it yet... You don't know what you are missing! Seek the Love of God in your life today... Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior... His Love for you- put Him on a cross, and you can trust that kind of Love. "For God... so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him". John 3:16-17
To the rest of us who know Him... here are a few scriptures to refresh your Loving spirits:) Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. 1 John 2: 4-6 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 4:7 [ God's Love and Ours ] Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
