Hello friends and fans, this is Cornelius A.K.A. Mr. Glow and owner of Southern Girl Modeling & SGM Photography LLC. First I would like to thank you for your love and support.

I would like to start of by saying, my dream is create a place where models, photographers, and agencies can network without the hassle of unnecessary fees. The Southern Girl Modeling network was created to support you, the Models.  Most of all, the Southern Girl Modeling network is here to help Models feature their portfolio to the world for free. Buy doing so we are helping those that are in need and seeking a helping hand in the difficult industry of modeling.  There are very few resources or companies in the Modeling industry that are willing to provide free services. I've receive countless emails from Models, Agencies, and Photographers expressing their thanks and gratitude for our services. But, we also receive a few negative responses from time to time as well and for those people I can only say love it or leave it. But, for those that appreciate our free services and that understand that we are trying to help them. Then I say, continue to network with us and even bigger and better things are to come.

With saying that, fans, friends, and models you can rest assure that Southern Girl Modeling & SGM Photography LLC is here to stay. We will continue to provide services to those who are in need of a helping hand in the Modeling industry.

There's one question that I always receive from young ladies thinking about becoming a Model. The famous question is "How much does it cost to get started in the modeling Business"?

Well there's not a right or wrong answer to this question. But there is good and bad news. Modeling is one of those things where you pretty much get what you pay for. One of the most important things when starting out is your portfolio. There are some photographers that offer TFP or TFCD services, which is a service where you exchange your modeling services for his photography services. In most cases photographers that offer these services tend to be amateurs or doing photography as a hobby. But, in some rare cases you can find a great photographer offering limited time TFP services while updating their portfolios.

Now for the bad news, most established photographers will not do TFP services. So be prepared to spend money to work with some of the more reputable photographers in your area. Before investing into any services, be sure to see examples and have a complete understanding of what they offer. If you know any of their clients ask them about the quality of their services. Be sure you read the release forms to ensure you are not signing something you are not willing to agree upon.

Our next Blog will go more into detail on this subject, until then stay tune.

Ladies it's important to have a good working relationship with the agency or the photographer helping you build your portfolio. By having a good working relationship, those who are working with you will be more prone to helping you.  Once again a positive attitude is the key to your success.  Last but not lease, REST makes a big difference in your mood doing a photo shoot. REST will also affect your ability to express your passion and emotions in your work.

Hello, once a again Mr.Glow has answers & helpful tips for you.  Todays tip is, if not the most important tip I can give anyone in the Modeling fill.  Practice!  Ladies practice, the more you practice the more creative you will be and the easier modeling will become to you.  Practice making seductive faces, posing, walking, voguing, and the list goes on.  Practice, practice, and practice some more.  Practicing may not make you perfect but, it will always make you better.

Hello Models, first thing first.  Being a web host, photographer, and graphic designer, I receive request from young ladies every day asking for information on how to become a model and the steps to take in achieving this goal.

1: First know what you want to do.  There are a variety of fields in the Modeling industry.  There are runway models, video models, clothing models, swimsuit models, and the list goes on.  Narrow down your selection and work on trying to achieve a specific target.  Reason being, is because there are several ways to gain access into a particular field of modeling and the process is not always the same.  Stay focus on your goals and remain consistent.  The biggest mistake that I see most model prospects do is, not being consistent.  Be on time for the photo shoot, come prepared, and most of all keep a positive attitude.  Your attitude could make the difference in an agent's decision, for making you the lead spot or the fill in position.  Follow the 5 P System, "Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance."

Attention all photographers!!!  I'm not one to down any one but, lately I've went to a lot of clubs and found out that some photographers are paying the club owner as much as $250 a night to come into club and provide their guest with their photography services. THAT'S JUST CRAZY! So before you make any profit you have to come out of a negative $250 dollars you just paid this jerk! I know it's hard to line up good venues but, don't let these guys take advantage of your work, supplies, and talent. Keep your head up guys and remember one thing, you're in this business to make money not loss it.  If there are no guarantees that you will make 2 or 3 times the money you just paid someone to bid on a job don't take it.
