After a gruelling morning of work I made my way from the mean streets of Cardonald to Stefs flat via two trains and a taxi. We left to meet Ian at our old haunt Assembly (the best place for a munch in Edinburgh, wait, the ONLY!). Getting my usual Veg Thai Green Curry and obviously the perfect Veg Sharing Platter plus a pitcher of cocktail all to myself (its cool most of it ended up on the table due to my rubbish pouring skillz). We then helped Ian find a CDR unsuccessfully, so that he could do some dodgy bootlegs of the shows hes working on at Fringe before stepping on the Meadowbank bus to reach the theatre of dreams for gate opening time. Got in quite quickly and was well impressed by it, unimpressed though by drinks options....wine? no. tennents? spose itll have to do. Watched the Silversun Pickups, they were good, although werent loud enough for open air stuff. NIN were amazing...it was so cool seeing them, rather see them at the Barras right enough. There was a few folk in the crowd getting into it...more lager before Foos? YES.
Dave came on and sang us Everlong and then straight into Monkey Wrench. Highlights were:

Bringing Gus onstage for happy birthdayness....did I ever tell you that I met him in 99?! :p

We made it back to Stefs flat where he went to bed and I got a taxi to pleasance to meet Ian, Sophy and Lydia. We met 2 of Lydias mates and then 4 of us went back to girlies flat for Gomez, Ian guitar playing and dancing. Before heading to the C Club....I am in love with that place and the dancing to 5am....every song was a choon...! I ended up on a very unstable table and had to resort to the stage. When we left thats when the fun really started. Dont tell rastas that your name is Jesus, they sing hymns. Do impress them with petit flous hash tips. You KNOW they are going to try that shit out. We met a man and his mate, who were clearly out of it and told Ian not to pee in the racist street (!), one of them also had a pink handbag. There was a man "performing" in the Meadows by lying there. Ian gave him a quid. A whole quid! He did nothing! We met more interesting people in the meadows, wheer I gave them a detailed account of how good the gig was. Poor Sods.
And then we strolled home to our beds.
