Current mood:  disgusted

Figured I'd share some of the wonderful things I get to look at when dealing with my car

First, I'd like to share the beautiful lights I get to look at when it's wet out. The one on the left is "ETS OFF" which means I don't have traction control. The one on the right is "ABS" which means I don't have anti-lock breaks either. The cool thing is that it only does then when it's wet & that's when I'd prefer to have the both of them The odometer is 8,000 miles short since replacing the guages a few years ago, so disreguard what it says, I really have just over 96,000 miles. Yeah... this is how I roll...

Photobucket

And my BEAUTIFUL paint! Not only do I have flaking clear coat on 3 out of 4 fenders, but now my roof joined in the fun! Check 'er out! Two spots, each about the size of my hand with fingers spread. They've officially shed their paint as of this morning.

I guess with a slipping transmission, this really shouldn't matter, right?

February 14, 2009 - Saturday

On my way home from doing some things today, I was the first car waiting to make a right from President Ave. onto Columbia Ave. when this guy came walking by. I scrambled to get my camera out of my purse, happy that I was at a "NO TURN ON RED" light so I had more time to snap pics! Wish I could have got more pics, clear ones, he was decked out! This guy was great! He reminds me of the guys seen when they're having an encampment at the corner of President Ave. & Marietta, which was easily within walking disance - but there isn't one now & he came from a different direction. Cupid in disguise?

Current mood:  okay

Car 1 - '01 Sunfire
It had a bad ignition coil cover a few weeks back. Got it towed off York Road & fixed. Days after getting it back, the check engine light was on. Then it would misfire at low RPMs. It went back to be fixed again & it turns out they had a bad batch of ignition coil covers. Finally got a new good one, but the dumped fuel heated and ruined the catalytic converter. That's a GM repair that costs just under $1,000 for parts/labor, so the car came home while we figured out what to do. My dad was able to pick one up at cost from his work, but the same day he dropped it off, the check engine light went out haha... same day, a headlight went out! But, now the headlight is replaced & the check engine light is back on. It got a fresh serp belt yesterday after the fools at Autozone gave the wrong one & a trip to the dealership was required to get the right one. The new cat may go on this Sunday.

Car 2 - '99 Sunfire
While the '01 Sunfire was in the shop, I was driving my '99 in the snow because I left the Outback for Jonathan to drive. On the way to work one snowy morning, just after leaving the neighborhood, the ABS and ETS OFF lights came on. Who needs ABS and traction control in the snow anyway?! I looked in the book & it said lights for those two that stay on need service. It says to turn the car off ASAP to reset the system. Well driving home that day, they were fine. In fact, they didn't light up for another 2-3 weeks until just the other day when it was raining. I had lights on going to and from work, as well as to and from the gym that day. I had lights on the next morning, but not in the afternoon - when it was much more dry. We're thinking it's a moisture problem with a speed sensor. Apparently if it's one of the rear sensors, the whole hub assembly has to be replaced. Awesome! Still looking into this.

The transmission slips daily now. I've got a little over 96,000 miles, consider me very let down. I thought it was going to at least make it to 100,000 without any major problems. I've put under 15,000 miles on in the past 3 years, this car doesn't see much more than to & from work, 12 miles a day. Stupid.

Car #3 - '02 Trans AM WS6
This car has been making a slight knocking sound since the lower end was rebuilt. It was listened to by the guy that rebuilt the bottom end and he didn't think it was major, something maybe in the tranny. It was dropped off last night with another guy who thinks it may be piston slap, which apparently would be a good thing in this case.

Car #4 - '99 Outback
This car is about to roll over 136,000 miles. I still love it to death. It's got a bit of a burning oil smell at times, but it's still running fine & checking the dipstick shows a clean and full oil status, so we're not sure what's doing just yet. It has had a slight oil leak since we got it, but never caused an issue.

We went to the Philly International Auto show this past Saturday as we do nearly every year. I've got an entire album of pictures, although small, here. I was pretty impressed with the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Do yourself a favor and click on the link provided to learn about this beast! It's beautiful, and from sitting in it, I can tell you it's got a pretty nice interior as well! I sat in a bunch of stuff, but nothing much really special enough to mention.

Except... there's this car I fell in love with! It's only a concept at this point, but the spokesmodel guy said it's a representation of the direction Subaru is moving in. Surprised I said Subaru? Hope not! This car is the 2010 Legacy Concept. Yum. Linked are some pictures on some page, but below are some pictures I took at the show. Yummy! I should save my pennies and pick this puppy up when it truely is time to move on.

...on a quick side note, the Legacy in Alexandria that I was watching for weeks is finally gone It was online Tuesday, but gone Wednesday. Someone got a beautiful car!

Now, onto the concept!

Current mood:  drained

A friend from high school on my Facebook just picked up her '07 Legacy today.
I've gotta shake this urge!

Jonathan's Sunfire is crapping out on us anyway, so I REALLY don't need to buy another car now, although the tranny slips daily now. I was waiting to get pics off the cam, to post about what happened last Saturday (1/17), but it seems I'm not going to get those pics off soon. They're really spiffy pics of his car on the tow truck on the shoulder of York Road between Oregon Pike & Lititz Pike. That was in ignition coil & it's been fixed, but now there's something else plaguing. Maybe an o2 sensor, maybe a cat - probably related to the unburned fuel when the coil went. Stuff that happens when your entry level GM product gets up around 125,000 miles & wants to fall apart

Fun things.

Good news! I hit the gym Saturday & today. I've got to get some weight off again, especially before Ocean City at the end of June. We've got a place lined up on the boardwalk at Talbot Street. It's a 4 bedroom, plenty of space hopefully! It doesn't have a balcony or patio on the boardwalk or anything like that, which is kind of a waste of a boardwalk front spot! We figure we'll sit on the boards instead

Bad news, Jonathan's best friend's grandmother passed yesterday. Every summer for the past 6 years we'd go to the lake in NY and have a bunch of fun with his friends - it was her camp that we were going to. She was a firecracker! I'm not looking forward to our trip to NY next week Anywho, here are a few pics from camp that I've got, including the recreation of Linda's favorite pic of Jonathan curling up by my feet!

I can't help it. I must shop for cars whether I'm going/able to buy or not. There's been a car I've kept my eye on for weeks now, figured I'd share it. It originally was listed at $11,999. I figured out that if I could talk them down to $11,000 and get $2,000 for my trade, I could afford it. Less than  week later, they lowered the price to $10,691. It's been this price for about 2 weeks now. If it wasn't for the 2.5 hour distance, I would have been behind the wheel of this car already.

So have a peek at her for as long as this listing will last.
The listing is here
This is what I want. Tranny, color, options. Mileage. Exactly it. *sigh*

This is the first blog I'm typing from my own fancy pc! Jonathan grew tired of me always being on his, so he picked this up for me today. My old G3 blue/white tower and OS9 weren't taking me where I wanted to be on the interwebz, so I was always on his computer, or waiting for him to get off of it so I could use it. It's been over 6 years of this, I suppose he's got room to get sick of it

So here I am, I've got some Dell in front of me that I know next to nothing about. It was $80 on Craigslist and the dock is blue & green. Probably sounds pretty funny to you people out there who have always been on a PC, but here I am a noob.

My first computer experience was probably an old Apple II back in the early 80's, then onto the first family computer we had running on DOS sometime in maybe the early 90's. The next step was my webTV back in '98, to which I moved onto my G3 tower. And here I am learning something totally new. Give me a little time and I may figure this thing out!

So far I have managed to bookmark MySpace

This past Saturday, I went to pick up some diamond plate with Jonathan & my brother at a scrap metal place & took the camera along. Of course the camera was along, it's usually in my purse! Anyhow, here's a picture of me with the metal (Jonathan thought it was SO stupid to take my pic with the metal) and then a few pics of what I found interesting. Available in high res if anyone wants a desktop picture

Here's the score of the day - Trex decking! It's a composite, something we never thought we could afford. We have talked about putting a deck on the house, this may be the time to buy! These are 16' boards for $24 each, which seems high until you realize they are $37 each at Lowes! Switching from a brick patio to a composite deck will be one of the most valuable things we can do when it comes to resale. Researching today I read that for the price you invest, decks will raise the value of your home the most. Score! Can you smell a 16x20? haha

Monday was my birthday & what a surprise it was that Jonathan actually took me to Melting Pot! I've wanted to go for a long time, but he kept saying he didn't want to drive so far & spend a fortune to dip some bread in some cheese haha! As for the distance, we went to Towson (Maryland), which is about an hour & a half away. Turns out they've got a new one in Harrisburg (PA), which is only about 45 minutes away, but it was booked solid that night.

The menu is really confusing, but our waitress was helpful in explaining everything. You've got to pick the grouping of meat, then the cheese, a salad & a cooking style. You can't just pick something off the menu, it's all customized & there are lots of choices! I found this website which will give you an idea of what you get to pick from!

We ordered the entree for two, which started off with apples, veggies (broccoli, culliflower, carot & celery) & assorted bread chunks to dip into the cheese we chose - Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue which was Creamy Fontina and Butterkäse, as well as Buttermilk Bleu Cheese with white wine, fresh scallions and a hint of sherry. Yum!

We both opted for the Caesar salad, which was delicious!

For our meat,  we got the Signature Selection , which was choice tenderloin, shrimp, teriyaki-marinated choice sirloin, boneless breast of chicken and fresh fish fillet. Since I'm not into seafood, we swapped out the fresh fish for double tenderloin & Jonathan was okay keeping the shrimp. Along with the meat, they bring out chunks of red skinned potatoes, broccoli & mushroom caps.

For the cooking style, we went with Coq au Vin Fondue. "Our interpretation of the cooking style favored in the French countryside. It combines the flavors of fresh herbs, mushrooms, garlic, imported spices and a burgundy wine." This was INCREDIBLE! The meat comes out raw & you place it on a skewer to stick in the pot of this stuff to cook it, about 2 minutes for the meat & much longer for the veggies.

Unfortunatley, we were way too full for dessert. If we were, I wanted to get "Chocolate S'mores - Milk chocolate topped with marshmallow cream, flambéed and garnished with crushed graham crackers. Also includes graham crackers for dipping." What do you get to dip in this? Fresh strawberries, bananas, pineapple, cheesecake, tasty marshmallows, pound cake and brownies! Oh my! Seriously, though, I was soooo full! Although you don't eat much really, especially compared to a "regular" dinner, you eat it so slowly that it's really filling. We were there for about 2 hours, so you can imagine how long it would take to eat all 4 courses!

Melting Pot was so awesome & a lot of fun! I'm glad Jonathan decided to take me there & he admitted that he really enjoyed it as well. I'd recommend it to anyone with some time, money & no small children

I've got the next 10 days of work off! Much needed too... and then 1 day of work, followed by a weekend. Damn that one day of work for being there! The other 2 art directors already scheduled off, so I have to be there

Our plans include cleaning the house & visiting with family. Maybe some of you out there would like to get together? I'm horrible about making plans, so shoot me an email or something if you'd like to meet up!

As always, an entire album of this trip is available here.

A little background, last year I took him on a surprise trip to Virginia to check out 2 caves. There's a little blog about it here.

This year we decided that we'd go cheaper, no overnight trips and nothing too expensive. I kept thinking about a show we watched on ice cream that mentioned one of the best places to get it in the country is in Penn State. I also remembered that Melissa told me last year that there's a cave outside of Penn State. So bingo, that was our trip.

We made it pretty far before he figured out where we were going. He figured towards Penn State, kind of hard to ignore all of the signs when you travel north along the Susquehanna River. In fact, of the 2.5 hour drive, I'd say the first 2 hours was still a surprise. We got off the highway and there was a big stupid sign with an arrow for the cave & he figured it out. We were headed to Penn's Cave.

Photobucket

After that, he was grumpy telling me that I ruined his whole day with another trip to a hole in the ground. He eventually said he was joking, but I'm not exactly convinced. He tried to keep the grumpy thing going & I got a few pictures of it, like when we first got there.

Photobucket

And grumpy again when we were sitting in the little cafe waiting for the tour to start.

Photobucket

He did manage a cheese smile next to the giant bear. Who doesn't like a bear with a fake fish on fake water?

Photobucket

Eventually our tour time came and we went down a walkway to a long set of steps down to the water where our boat would be waiting. There were 3 other people on our tour, they didn't speak English & they were already in line.

Photobucket

So we got in this tiny icy boat & headed out in the cave water. It was wet, a very active cave. My left leg got pretty wet and my hood went up quickly after a wet drip to the back of the neck! Must be a pretty big treat in the summer! But this was winter & we think the claims of mild temperature on their website are a lie. Jonathan only had a hoodie, I had my winter jacket over the other million layers thanks to the nice ticket guy warning us of how cold it is. Jonathan put his arms in his hoodie & dealt with it while checking out the cave.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

We went out the other end of the cave through a narrow passageway, clipping an icicle like the titanic and around a little pond full of ducks, geese & an angry pair of swans.

Tiny passage:

The iceberg:
Photobucket

Jonathan checked out the swans while they still seemed innocent, just before they chased us back into the cave

Photobucket

And I put on a cheese with my million layers of warmth. I've discovered that multiple hoods is really one of the most uncomfortable parts of staying warm when it comes down to it.

Photobucket

Since we fled the swan, we had to navigate the cave backwards. This meant the dude had to shine his spotlight up through the middle of the boat to navigate back. It looked a little something like this....

Photobucket

We were warned not to make shadow puppets & it truely was hard to resist. So instead I got to enjoy the close encounters we had with the walls like this one:

Photobucket

Obviously the voyage ended well, so we headed into Penn State to get some lunch at a place I found on the interweb called Baby's, 50's themed diner kinda place. Jonathan was playing grumpy again, I think it was playing anyway... but the food was tasty! The menu was cute too!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And at the end of the meal, you get some Bazooka! It's been FOREVER since I had Bazooka & a comic! As usual, it tasted good for about 4 minutes.

Photobucket

From there we went to get ice cream on the Penn State campus! We're ice cream nuts, but I still find it funny to see people walking outside when it's 22 degrees, eating an ice cream cone! We chose to eat inside. Jonathan had chocolate chip cookie dough (with a side of grumpy) and I had peanut butter swirl. It was soooooo good! I think we both managed to eat half before tossing the rest, it's just too much after a meal.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Happy ice cream peoples!

Photobucket

So then we walked down a block or two to get a glimpse of the stadium. I mean I'm not a fan or anything, but it's HUGE and we're in Happy Valley, the team is in a bowl game, we've GOT to look at the stadium while we're there!

Photobucket

We went back to the car & drove to go pick up the puppies, we had put them in day camp As we expected, Bear started a fight early on and wasn't allowed to play with the other dogs anymore. Aspen was a sweetheart and made friends with a very fat yellow lab named Emma.

Another birthday down, another year to figure out what to do next year!

While out today, we decided to swing by some dealerships to look at cars. Why not? Now I wish I wouldn't have even done it.

At LCM's Kia lot, in the used area, I found a 2006 Legacy Outback Sedan 3.0R L.L. Bean Edition with just over 33,000 miles.  This car was beautiful, leather interior with a REAL wood dash. Tons of options like a moonroof, 6 disc changer, steering wheel controls, heated mirrors and whatever other frill you'd want. Back in 2006 when this was new, it retailed for just about $32,000. LCM is asking just a hair over $20,000 for this thing. I saw it in person, it's flawless. It bothers me that I can't have this beauty at a steal! Makes me wonder why it's so cheap.

On a bright note, I took a look at the 2005 silver Impreza that they had on their website & decided it's not for me. It's so.... blah. So boring, so entry level. I need an upgrade, something nice, something more fancy with a nice dash and a bunch of options.

Oh, and we stopped by the Scion dealer to check out my latest obsession and xD. They had a nice dark grey one there for a little over $15,000, very cute and a great interior, great crash rating and awesome gas mileage. Oh, and the engine has a 12-year, 400,000 mile warranty! This is on my list to check out closer at the Philly car show in January.

But yeah, had I never seen that Outback Sedan, I wouldn't want it so badly! This has made me think that if the oil analysis is bad, the car needs to go to stock ASAP so that when the right replacement comes along, I can get on it fast.

Current mood:  contemplative
Enough guessing about the Sunfire's condition, we're testing her oil.

Last week one day, I was driving down Lititz Pike behind a woman who decided to come nearly to a complete stop before turning into a parking area somewhere around Boston Market - without using her turn signal, right in front of me. Pet peeve of mine, how can you NOT use a turn signal, during rush hour, on a very busy stretch of road, while barely able to complete a turn in a timely manner? UGH!

So I gave the Sunfire gas a little more rapidly than normal & I felt something through the pedal. It was a bit of vibration mixed with a sluggishness to accelerate. In the past, I've felt this before while giving a bit more agressive acceleration, like when I'm coming out of a sharp turn if I want to get back up to speed quickly. Hmmm... so this may be a tranny problem.

While dealing with the intake garbage the past few weeks, which by the way is resolved now, Jonathan thinks he saw some head gasket seepage

The Sunfire is a '99 with about 95,000 miles, this makes me sad. I've always been on top of maintenance & loved this car for over 8 years now, but I'm watching it fall apart now both visually and mechanically. I've heard the argument that getting this car back in shape can be more wallet-friendly than buying a new car, but at this point I may be facing a head gasket, transmission & paint job to achieve that goal - which on a car worth:

Trade In - $1,600
Private Sale - $2,705
Retail (if in excellent shape) - $4,355

That's for "good" shape, which I'm not sure it fits anymore. Knock another $500 value off if it's downgraded to "fair" condition, which it may fit into. Fair means it requires repairs by a professional, which at this point it doesn't need to keep running and driving.

The Sunfire also doesn't have good crash ratings, and I'm so paranoid that it would feel better to drive something safer. It's a GT model, but has only the upgraded engine & power windows/locks, nothing else. No cruise, no sun roof, no frills. I can get something with more options, even my Outback has a TON more options and I love and use them!

So Jonathan ordered an oil test kit which should be here in the next week. The results will take a few weeks, but they will tell us of any fluids or metals in the oil. That should help us get a better picture of what's going on and help make a decision from there.

In the meantime, I've played with payment calculators and think I may be able to afford about $10,000 if it comes down to it. I found a beautiful 2002 Legacy GT Limited in Jersey that brought a smile to my face! The GT Limited has a sport suspension & the cold weather package that gets you heated seats/mirrors/wipers like I've got on the Outback - YUM! This one also had a leather interior & wood grain dash, which I'm not sure if it's a standard GT Limited thing. I read online that the GT Limited was a limited production & kind of hard to find, and this one was going for just under $8,000.

She's back on stock wheels for winter now, but here's a look back to this past summer when I finally completed the look I wanted for her.

This Thanksgiving we traveled to my inlaws, staying in Saratoga Springs, New York & also Rutland, Vermont. And as always, there is an entire album of this trip available here on Photopoint for your viewing pleasure!

We left Tuesday the 25th and stopped for lunch at Yocco's in Allentown, they specialize in hot dogs!

Photobucket

This place has been somewhat of a joke, I love the billboards & I work with a guy that grew up near there and said they're the best! They were alright, the overall restaurant kinda turned me off with their ordering style of making you yell to the kitchen

After Yocco's, we went straight to Red Lobster in Latham, New York, to meet family to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday! Quick fact: Jonathan's dad & my dad have the same birthday! Being a seafood hater, I had the NY strip with smashed taters & it was DELICIOUS! This was the first time we got to meet our new nephew, Ryder David-John. Here's uncle Jonathan holding him!

Photobucket

Photobucket

We slept at my mother-in-law's place that night, then Wednesday we headed up north to check out the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury, Vermont. Every time we go to Vermont we just go to see family, which is fine, but I wanted to see MORE of Vermont! We're so far from home, I think it would be fun to explore more!

So we hit 87 and went north....

Photobucket

Photobucket

And we ended up in this town called Essex, New York, where we made a left in what I can only guess is the "center of town."

Photobucket

We went a little ways & the TomTom said, "Ahead turn right. Then, take the ferry." HUH? We drove past the dock area & pulled over. To my right was lake Champlain.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Jonathan tried other options on the GPS, but the ferry seemed the best fit. So we drove back, paid the lady in the booth & waited for the boat.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The ferry arrived, unloaded & we drove on. It was kinda funny to look over & see life preservers, look back and see water, and look to the right and not be able to actually see close land! It took a half hour to get to the other side, which was a lot of fun!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Once on the Vermont side of the lake, we saw stereotypical Vermont things like people riding horses down the road & signs warning of moose.  I'm also now fully convinced that Vermont is the main reason Subaru is in business! We pulled up to the first major intersection just outside of Shelburne & I swear there were at least 8 Subarus right there!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Eventually we reached the Ben & Jerry's factory where even the handicapped sign has an ice cream cone! We took a tour that consisted mostly of videos, fun non the less though! Plus, we got to try out a flavor that you can't buy in stores called Chocolate Therapy. Yummy! We got cones, checked out some signage & a gift shop, then headed to Rutland to meet up with the grandparents & settle in for the night. We passed by Killington on the way to Rutland, so I attempted to snap a shot of that too. Check out my pictures through my profile for more fun Ben & Jerry's pics!

At gram & gramps, I teased the cat of course! We got to sleep in the house next to theirs, it was Jonathan's great-grandfather's place & they've fixed it up real nice. It was great to have our own little place to stay.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Thursday morning, Thanksgiving, more family arrived before we made our way to go eat. More pictures of baby Ryder! And yes, I held him

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Thanksgiving in Vermont was awesome as usual, tons of people & an amazing amount of delicious food! After the meal, we left to head back to New York again. And of course being a tourist, I wanted to stop again in front of Sirlion Saloon to have my pic taken with the bears, who were dressed as hunters at this time of year! Since I had on an orange sweater, I had to take off my jacket & blend in

Photobucket

This is where the picture taking stopped. Thursday & Friday nights we slept at my mother-in-law's house. We got to try Moe's Southwest Grill on Friday when a bunch of us want out to eat. Also got an awesome Ihop breakfast with the Gray's on black Friday! We got to visit with the Gray's a lot, which is always awesome! Saturday morning we had some hot chocolate with Jason & Heather Gray, then went to my father-in-law's where we picked up a tv he was giving us. Once back near home, we had to stop at my brothers place to pick him up & drop me off so he could help Jonathan get the tv in the house & the new tv unit set up. I finally got home around 10:45pm, it was a very long day! I woke up sick Saturday, so my body was taking a beating! So glad that the rest of the trip wasn't spoiled by sickness, we had an awesome time!

Found this bad boy between the doors when I got home. And by between the doors, I mean behind the storm door, which was standing wide open, with my inside door & wreath exposed to rain.

Photobucket

Bear & I opened it up

Photobucket

And inside was my shiny red new AEM intake!

Photobucket

The wait is over, she should go back on the car soon. Although I thought they were sending me a new elbow as well since the current one is cracked & they received pictures of it that way. Hmm....

November 14, 2008 - Friday
The last I blogged about cars, the Subaru was misfiring. Since then, Jonathan addressed the month-old plug & wire for cylinder 2 after checking out the code it threw. Upon removal of the wire, some of the wire was actually stuck onto the plug. AH HA! After much struggle (and and a few days) to pry this piece off the deep-set plug in a tight spot, success! However, this did not fix the misfire. Luckily there's an interweb & after much more research, it was discovered that Subaru likes Subaru parts, not those from AutoZone that claim to work the same. Luckily there was a warranty on the wires, which were returned for a refund. Dealership plugs & wires went in & she runs great again  Lesson learned - quality cars want quality parts!

The Sunfire at the time of the last blog still had a broken intake sitting in it and we were going to email more pictures to AEM per their request. AEM did get the pictures & then asked if we could send them  the broken intake, postage paid, so their research/development department could check it out. There was some delay in having another red short ram in stock, so as of now I am still waiting on it. However, we made a trip to mom's one day to get my air box & junk to put back in. The actual box doesn't fit with my hood, so there's a ghetto cone on the end of the tube. But hey, it works & I've been driving it ever since without any intake or air issues.

I specified intake or air issues because, as any of your car people know, if you fix one thing, another breaks. My alarm went silent this week. Monday Jonathan called Tweeter to see if I could take 'er in right after work & wouldn't you know it I must have missed the article in the paper - Tweeter is bankrupt & closing all of their stores. All installers were let go at the Lancaster location, there is no auto department & in fact most of the store is empty. So bye-bye to my Tweeter lifetime warranty that's been much-used in the past 5 years! The economy has officially kicked me in the wallet beyond gas & food prices Tweeter suggested Wee-Bee & $26 later, she's fixed. Considering they charge $50/hour, I'm okay with that.

One last thing, and a positive one at that! We've wanted to tint the Subaru for a while now because the puppies are back their often. In the summer it gets so hot & the air conditioning doesn't cool back there, plus the sun beats in on them from 3 sides. My eyes are really light sensitive & tint helps with night driving, plus I simply prefer the look of a tinted vehicle. Last night we dropped it off with a guy Jonathan works with, it should be ready to pick up tonight. This isn't just any guy, he used to work at a shop in Manheim as well as Revron (Manor & King), so he's put in his time. His own car looks perfect, so I'm confident it'll turn out well. His price is right since he's just renting a little barn, so if all goes well, maybe some of my OT money will go to retint the Sunfire. I've never been happy with the crappy job Lancaster Auto Detail did, so fixing that would be great. Pictures of the Subaru will be posted as soon as I can get some If anyone reading this is interested in tint, I'll let you know where to get it done!
