Got a salvage car today its a POS but for $1200 it was the better one on the lot, it needs alot of work but should get me around.
Going to blow my budget getting it to optimal running, so summer plans are probably shot in the ass.

Got another copy of that OGO propaganda rag last night and noticed a small article from JR himself entitled "Neovention Reborn moved to 2010".
Ok first off...I'm not suprised it seems he's unwilling to dive in and take the risk and I totally see why...this guy has horrible organizational and business skills, take for instance his numerous fetish shows around Akron & Cleveland. His lack of forethought, planning and shady business practices has lead to him burning the bridges to every contact and friend in this area.

His excuses as to why the con is postponed is... well he really doesn't explain why, in true doublespeak and "sleight of hand" he changes the subject and says "we wanted to make sure the real story was out there ahead of time" and to "make sure there are no rumor mongering as to the reasons".
But he does go on to say that new "opportunities" have presented themselves so that they can pull off (lol kinda like a heist?) "an even better convention".

So it seems to me they are having problems getting the convention off the cold slab it was interred upon it also seem that the staff in pulling off such an event might be sparse because hes still running that help wanted ad I saw last year and the year before that.
So heres some advice its never going to happen if you continue to treat it as a business and alienate friends, you need to increase your own value with the poeple around you, ask for advice from those who are actually doing what you want to do...(I'm one e-mail away from 2 of the 3 past Neovention organizers, whats your excuse?...Oh thats right you burnt them like all your other "business dealings").
Work with other convention organizers...swollow your pride and actually work on their staff for the weekend of their events you might learn something and gain the confiednce to actually run your con.

I'm posting this blog because in your article you mention that you are reviving a con that "many people cared for and loved" and I am one of those people, but you also go on to say that you dont want the first year back to be "small"...talking to those who have been to way more Neovetions than I, the one "big" they did was almost a fiasco and they pulled back to make it a convention for friends, the other 2 cons in the area are not "big" cons, Neovention was best when it was small and a gathering of friends and thats the way it should be...where are your firends?

Watchmen is quite possibly the best Superhero movie ever...better than Spiderman series, Batman Begins & Ironman.
It has a solid story, good characters & has definitely raised the bar for all other future hero movies.
Now lets hope if there is any prequels/sequels they don't screw them up
