The Pineapple Thief are pleased to announce that The Pineapple Thief have signed a new four album deal with K-Scope. K-Scope are part of the Snapper Music Group and will offer the band access to a wider audience base, worldwide distribution and greater promotion. The first release will be the next studio album titled 'Tightly Unwound' due out on May 19th 2008.
After eight years and six albums, The Pineapple Thief, for the first time in their history, will no longer be signed to Cyclops Records. Malcolm and Cyclops have always said they would not stand in the way of the band if a bigger player came along. Malcolm is a fan of the music as well as a label boss. Bruce and Malcolm are good friends having worked with each other since 1994. Happily, there is absolutely no ill feeling between the two of them.
So, 2008 is set to be an exciting year for The Thief. Watch this space...

A new studio album is due out in September and we are taking pre-orders on the site. The album is a mixture of old and new stuff Bruce has pulled from the archives - but don't view this as a 'b-sides' album. It's been put through the TPT-2007 machine to create something a bit special before the next full studio release next spring. Title: What We Have Sown Track List: 1) All I need to know (4:13) 2) I think that*s what he said? (5.51) 3) Take me with you (5.02) 4) West Winds (4.50) 5) Another Day (4.25) 6) What have we sown? (26.32) Click here to pre-order

Current mood: artistic
Well 2006 has been and gone. Its been an interesting and eventful year both musically and personally. Some of it has been good. Some of it has been shit. I won't bore you with the details.
The last quarter of 2006 was manic in the studio mainly dealing with my main business Audiomaster. I love mastering but my main regret is that my own musical output suffered last year. My main new years resolution is to spend more studio time creating my own stuff, doing some more remixes and finding some interesting people to work with. Along side that I plan to get the label finally up and running plus a few other things I have up my sleeve. To end in a cheesy cliché - watch this space mutha fekers.

Today Bruce and myself appeared live on BBC Radio Somerset Sound. They have a rule that NOTHING electrical is allowed to be plugged into their electrics, so I had to source a dodgy battery powered ..thing.. (thanks Simon) that just about managed to play a honky tonk piano. We were literally playing and singing into a mic. No effects or gizmos, so it was pretty raw. We decided to play ..Boxing Day.. as it..s probably the most radio friendly and suits an acoustic rendition quite nicely. The very nice DJ Jo Phillips intervied us for a bit and played God Bless The Child from the new album.

The Simuck Excited Dub remix of Aaron's track 'Alien To Me' (co-written, produced and mixed by Steve Kitch) continues to get a regular playlisting as Nick Warren's set-opener. According to various forums (including IDM and Clubbersguide), Nick kicked off with Alien To Me on Kiss 100 when guest DJing on John Digweed's show on 11th June 2006. Since showcasing the track at this year's Miami WMC, both Nick and fellow member of Way Out West; Jody W. have been dropping the tune. The remix was also reported being played out at Space in Ibiza during various sets this summer.
