Current mood:  thoughtful

Well, I didn't think I would ever live to see the day that I made it to the BIG     4-0!! All this week will be a countdown, you know, like the space shuttle! ha I am looking back and WOW my 30's did ROCK!  The 20's were pretty hard because you are trying to find your way out of college and getting established (heck, I am still trying that one).

I have gotten many pieces of advice since last week. "Oh, you won't feel any different", "You look great" (How else was I supposed to look?ha), "You will feel so much more confident", you know, all the wise words that I am supposed to think--"Gee, maybe they are right". Although when I take a look back I still can't believe that time has gone so fast. It really does ( now that IS wisdom, ha). I remember having crushes on Scott Baio, John Stamos and having Duran Duran posters all over my walls. Graduating high school and leaving for college at 17. All those nights at EKU, staggering back to the dorm, getting my first job and crying everynight when I got home (taught HS art), buying my first car (feeling like I was going to puke), getting my heart broke and swearing it will NEVER happen again. Moving 3 hours away from home, gaining friends along the way, losing touch with some, and still trying to find out why on earth am I on this earth!

I had a get together at a local restaurant/bar on Sat. we all had a great time. This weekend is Bardstown's Bourbon Festival, which just so happens to be ACROSS the street from my apt....oh, how ironic, a landmark festival on my landmark b-day. Karma? Fate? Call it what you will, but in my little past 39 brain it will be MY party! hahaha

If anyone else has words of wisdom for me this week, please let me hear you. I swear, I can still remember going to Rick Springfield's concert in Louisville in 1982, but can't remember if I turned off my flat iron! Crazy, huh?

I will let you know about my life altering week and hopefully I will remember to turn off my flat iron!

Current mood:  cheerful

I am so thankful summer is finally here! It is getting pretty hot in Kentucky.

School was busy, as usual, and I am taking night classes two times a week.

I will be heading to Panama City, Florida with my family in a couple of weeks. I wish I could be a beach bum for the rest of my life! ha If anyone knows how, please send me info!!!!

Then off to Nashville for the second Reality Convention. It doesn't look like there is too many of us from Starting Over coming to the convention. I tried to email Hailey and Lynnell about it, oh well, maybe they will pop on over from Cali! ha

Then 4th of July will be here, hopefully I will be going to Lexington's Red White and Boom celebration. Gary Allan and other country music singers will be there. August will then bring wonderful school again, YUK...This year will be my 15th year in education,,,another YUK! I can't believe how time does just fly...

I hope everyone has a great and safe summer!!

Wow, can you believe how time flies?? I am sorry I haven't written in awhile, again I can't believe it's actually 2007!  I remember as if were yesterday 2005--hahaha. I hope everyone is doing well.

I just finished my taxes yesterday,,,whoopppeee! Snow is falling right now. In Kentucky, our weather has been COLD!  I am counting the hours until spring. Thank goodness Feb. is a short month.

I was supposed to go to the Reality4Diabetes function, but a school situation came up and then I got the stomach bug that was going around, just my luck. I got the email this week that the 2nd Reality Convention will be in Nashville during the 1st weekend in July. I hope to see you there!  Go to the Reality Convention website for more info.

I had a great Valentine's Day--Dinner was made for me!! Yes, I am NOT kidding! My boy, Johnny, made dinner for me. AAWWWW! I know, I know, I won't brag, but I was very impressed. During March will be my favorite time of the year--March Madness!  I love basketball and watching all the competition. Although, my Kentucky Wildcats haven't been doing so hot lately. I still believe in miracles!! hahha

Again, take care and I will write in between snow storms!! haha

Current mood:  hungry

OH my goodness! It is October already!! EEEKKK!!!

Let's see..In July, I had my 20th class reunion and partied a little too much. I dirty danced way too much that night because my leg muscles hurt for days!! It is hell getting old.

I am sad that StartingOver didn't come back this tv season. I heard from so many people that did write, call or send something online to NBC. I am still hopeful that some other company or person (Oprah) will pick it up. It helped me and soooo many people on and off the show. Keep the faith!

I had a birthday in September (thirtysomething), thanks for all of your messages. I went back to school in August (I cried more than the kids,,ha)so far the school year has been good. I have written a little more in my mini book and I need to get my stuff together to get into Reality Speaking (you can check out their website RealitySpeaking.com).

My stepdad and stepmom (Mel and Faye) came to meet me for lunch. They brought my nephew with them. If you remember from Starting Over, my stepbrother Brett was getting married. He and his wife, Kristin,  had a little boy last year in September. Sam is his name, he is one year old and a cutie pie.

I just had fall break. I took my grandparents to Paducah, Kentucky and I worked for my landlord...yep, I am one crazy gal. Eastern Kentucky  University had homecoming in October, but I couldn't make it. The Breeder's Cup is going to be in Louisville, Kentucky this year (Nov. 4) and I will try to be there to put up some BIG money ($2 to show, haha).

Tasha from Reality4Diabetes contacted me and will hopefully have a the first weekend in December for the event. If you can, look on her website Reality4Diabetes.com for information. This event will be inthe Cin. OH area. This is a great cause, so if you can join us--come on!

I will try to have more exciting news next time. Thanks to all my new friends on myspace-- ya'll are great!

Talk to ya'll later,

Susan

EXTRA, EXTRA! YOU can help save Starting Over tv!!!

Go to www.myspace.com/sheriamour and she has created a starting over fan's dream. An official club membership, discussion groups and the link for the project: The Save Starting Over Petition. She has almost 8,000 signatures!!! Tell people, email your parents, shout it from the roof tops! WE have to save SO!!

I have to say that SO changed my life and so many other people. It inspires, motivates and gives people a real understanding of if you really want to start some part of your life over how YOU can. This show doesn't give contestants millions of dollars as the prize, but it does give others hope and encouragement to change their lives for the better.

Please get on her myspace and help to save Starting Over!

talk to you soon,

Susan
