I just finished off my Golden Girls DVDs finally and am sitting here crying because of how sweet and simple the stupid show was... Sigh, I highly recommend taking a look back at this one, the storylines are so silly and always trying to tackle "big issues" but it's so sweet and freaking funny it's hard not to love it... The ending was great too! That is all for now hoes!

Sigh... so I FINALLY remembered to pick up a copy of Catcher in the Rye for myself to read... the used bookstore didn't have one, so I went to Coles to get it... I'm excited to read it, but I need to stop being so tired first :S...

I've been working my practicum at Shaw TV out here in Chilliwack and it's a lot of fun! I get to type up those Local Events things that scroll along the bottom of the screen on Channel 4 AND I get to read the Newspaper and online and tell my boss about upcoming events/stories that might make good pieces for them to go out and shoot! I might even get to do it over the entire summer and get paid to do it :) Which is really cool, cause I love researching shit! It's really cool when my boss is like "I need a list of all the sporting places and teams and their phone numbers by next week..." and I get it done for the next day! I love over achieving I pride myself on it! Which is what I'm supposed to do according to my birthday:

Your Birthdate: March 28
You have a Type A personality so big it makes other Type A's shrink away in shame.
You never shy away from adversity - and you love to tackle impossible problems.
Failure is not an option for you, and more than a few people are put off by your ego.
You tend to be controlling, and you hate leaving anything up to chance.

Your strength: Your bold approach to life

Your weakness: You don't accept help

Your power color: Bronze

Your power symbol: Pyramid

Your power month: October

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

I downloaded some of the Smiths music (I know... and you have the emo cut to go with those slits appearing on your arms!) and I actually really like it :S How typical, but really I think "How Soon is Now?" and "This Charming Man" are so gorgeous! They really make me think about sexual confusion, not sure if that's what they're meant to do, but never-the-less that's what I think of... Morrisey's voice is cool too!

I was able to switch my shift with Gail so I work tomorrow night instead of Friday :) Now I can go see 42nd Street Friday night in New West! YEAH! I'm also going to go to Playland on Saturday with Terrill and Angela! We're buying Season Passes and hopefully going a bunch of times...

Everyone's abandoned me from school :( Sarah and Beric went back home on Tuesday and Sonya was slated to leave today :( Upsetting... The other day I was driving home and Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper came on my ipod and I was immediately transported back to my grad night... I remember I was doing fine until the last 2 songs at prom came on... Graduation by Vitamin C, I had fun dancing to that and started feeling the nostalgia, but then Time of Your Life by Green Day came on and I started crying... I had to sit down it was too much... Vanessa Foggitt came over to me and gave me a hug and told me it was okay and pulled me back onto the dance floor... they played one more song and the two of us danced...

I still haven't been able to let go of high school. Degrassi keeps me there, but what am I to do when Degrassi ends for good? Will our hero have grown up enough by then? He's finished his first year of college and still can't let go of his grad year of high school? This worries us, the audience... but only time will tell!

I can see aspects of those "symptoms"... But overal I'd put them at medium levels because there are parts of those disorders that I don't think I fit into... mainly "lack of empathy" and "exagerates friendships", I'm normally over-emphatic (if that's the word) and I dull down my friendships... also the "takes advantage of others" and "lying to self and others", I jokingly "lie" but always laugh or reveal the truth and I don't THINK I take advantage of others... hmmmm... I think I should work on that one, if it's a skill of mine I may as well use it!

THE DUMB FUCK OF THE WEEK IS...

AARON FROM FULL HOUSE!

I fucking hate this shit faced asshole... Everytime I see his shit-eating-grin I want to scratch my god-damn eyes out! I bought myself Season 6 on DVD and have been watching them lately... The episode where DJ forgets Kimmy's Birthday is actually pretty sad...

Kimmy is a pretty tragic character always playing 3rd wheel to Deej and Steve, being the but of everyone's jokes, and dating only the dumbest of dumb... But wait, wasn't that guy Duane who always said "Whatever..." kind of cute? I can't find any pictures for proof... but I think I used to have a crush on him... we'll see!

EDIT:

Was I right? or Was I right??? Especially now! Hot! Even if he does kinda look skinhead-esque!

EDIT EDIT! Oh yeah... he was Wayne's friend on the Wonder Years also... the one that went off to war... that was a really sad episode. Poor Wayne... He was also the voice of Kevin French on Mission Hill! Cool stuff!

Random quotes of the day:

"Let's just put it this way... if I decided not to come back [to the film program] next year... [the coordinator's of the class] wouldn't let me not come back!"

"The reason why other people in the class didn't get an A is probably because their ideas are stale..."

I was finally starting to get along with someone I had recently been going out of my way to avoid in our class. I was able to talk with him without him going crazy and yelling at me or others around me. I was even able to joke and share a smoke with him every so often. That was until he didn't do all the work that was required for the final project and again was able to pull off an A. It wasn't that though... I wasn't mad at him for that, I was mad at the coordinators of our program for not seeing their faults in a lot of their marking systems (it wasn't only him that got higher marks then they should have) it was when I heard the two above arrogant shit-for-brains quotes were said by him. Well fuck him and his "stale idea"... and it was stale!

I'm excited for this one! But at the same time, I love the stage show so much that I'm kinda scared for this one too! John Travolta's actually got me worried the most... He betta bring it!

I'm going to see Aida in a few hours in Langley with some chums! That's exciting! Terrill just let me know he couldn't watch all of the movie because he didn't like watching himself! SIGH! I think he did an awesome job in it, but at the same time I feel that way sometimes when I watch myself too! But that's usually cause I screwed up! He did great!

Grindhouse opens this Friday! EXCITED??? I am too!

I've already decided on the Dumb Fuck of the Week:

I mentioned him last week in Lincoln's DFOW! And Joey is the dumb fuck for sort of the same reason! Joey screwed shit up for everyone on Friends! I especially hate that he turned Chandler and Monica's wedding into something FUNNY when it should have been sweet! The asshole also had a crush on Rachel! FUCK YOU JOEY! I still kinda like his character, but for those reasons he's the Dumb Fuck of the Week! OH and he got his own show which was ridiculous! THERE!

On another note... I spent all of last night 7pm til 5:50am at the school working on my movie. I have a rough cut put together... Just need to choose some music, record a couple of sound effects, color correct it and I'm done! I MIGHT upload the rough edit later today and post it as a sort of preview... MIGHT!

Tomorrow's my b'day (beyonce style)! I don't think I'm doing anything, probably working on my movie and maybe I'll go out for dinner... I'm going to try and get out to Langley to see Aida... it's being put on by Walnut Grove Secondary School and I still haven't seen it so... yeah!

I watched the last episode of Rome today... It was good, I liked how most of it ended. I'm upset that there won't be any more. I'm especially going to miss Polly Walker's character Atia, she was a royal bitch, but I love her and feel bad for her. She looks a lot like Melinda Clarke who played an equal bitch Julie Cooper on The O.C. and again, I love Julie Cooper and feel bad for her. She's the only character on The O.C. that made me cry and that was when she decided not to kill her husband and he had a heart attack...

At the moment I'm watching last night's episode of Prison Break... Let me start out by saying I HATE LINCOLN BURROWS!

I've been meaning to start this tradition up for a long time and begin it with Lincoln Burrows... The new thing will be Dumb Fuck of the Week. The reason Lincoln is first is because I hate him. Even though I like his character and often feel sympathy for him I overall hate the guy... Now don't start thinking it's Dominic Purcell that I hate, it's his character. Lincoln is the reason for all the shitty things that happen on the show Prison Break. He's a whiney little bitch. First his brother incarcerates himself and tatooes the perfect escape plan over his entire body and as soon as there's the slightest problem he bitches about it. The dumb fuck acts as if Michael owes it to him to get him out... but it wasn't Michael who made Lincoln a low-life loser that was an easy target to lay an assassinatination on, it was Linc... Linc also impregnated a woman with the second shit fuck, LJ (Lincoln Junior!) God, this kid is a dumb shit fuck as well... You'd think I would be hating the asian guy more than both these two combined, but no, I FUCKING HATE LINCOLN! He's like Joey on friends, I like the character and he's entertaining at times, but overall he's the cause of all the trouble... Lincoln always questions Michaels perfect plans and doesn't go along with them which screws everything up and digs another hole poor Michael has to fill... Anyways, enough ranting though... I'll just say this... FUCK LINCOLN BURROWS!

I wish that Jem and the Holograms had had an actual album that was like full length songs... I love the songs from the show, but unfortunately they're only like 58 seconds long ... I am still kinda sick, but feeling A LOT better... I didn't go into work last night  which REALLY sucks money-wise, but I think I'd probably have passed out anyways...

Last night Angela and I (after I slept the whole day) went to the school at like 11:30 to go edit our movies... The building was locked so we went down to security who got mad at us for coming after 11pm which is apparently the cut off time... We said we were sorry that we didn't know so he said he'd let us in late this one time. So we stayed there working on our movies til like 4:30am... It was fun, I like going late at night cause no stupid assholes are there ... We going to do the same thing tonight, but we're going to get there earlier this time so we don't piss off security.

Anyways, I kinda like how my movies coming along right now. I have a very rough edit put together and it runs for 11 mins 36 secs right now without any credits/titles. I think I might get in trouble for it being over 7 mins long, but I'm going to fight it if they try and take off marks because I worked hard on this movie and I'm tired of their technicalities that aren't stated before the projects are done... This class is very disorganized and they slack out on so much, so if they try and ding me marks for this, then I'm going to have a list prepared for them of their hipocricies and ask them to either NOT take my marks off for this OR go back and change a shit load of marks from the past... I'm such a bitch, but seriously... it really gets me down how much I tried first semester to get a lower mark than some others that were very slack with their work...

Anyways! I DO like what I'm seeing so far from my movie, except for the ending  what seemed so poignant when I wrote it doesn't seem to be translating the way I'd have liked it to... I'm also having trouble picking music for the movie too... I have to kind of create my own using either soundtrack or garage band but I really don't know what style I even want... There's a bit more coverage I would have liked too, but it's definately not necessary for what I wanted...

I attempted to watch TMNT because a screener was released online and it's really high quality, but I really don't like it... I don't like the changes in the turtles and I don't like the shitty storyline they came up with. I hate it when nostalgia is ruined... I think it would be cool if someone were to do a really good Jem movie in live action, but keep it set in the 80s and still use the classic songs, but extend them... It'd never work out though, someone would find some cute kitsch to ride out in the movie that they thought everyone would love and find SO funny, but in the end it ruins what the original was... I think it'd be cool if the people who did the Brady Bunch Movie (I think it was Bonnie and Terry Turner but I'm too lazy to confirm right now) wrote it up. I think they have the right idea. It's fun to play around with ideas, but in the end always make sure it's an homage to the original...

Here I am rambling... ANYWAYS the reason I brought up Jem was... I was going through my cd stacks from FOREVER ago and I came across my Jem and the Holograms CDs (Every MP3 song of theirs AND all 65 episodes) so I put on some of their music and let some nostalgia set in... Have a good day everyone! I'm off to sleep some. 2 days til I'm 21 and I think I look older all of a sudden... I don't know what looks older about me, but I think I look different somehow...

HO HO HO! I call this TyJem! Cause it's hot!

EDIT! The L Word Season 4 ended last night (it has been picked up for a fifth season) and it was meh... I like it when they go out on a shocker, even if the shocker ends up being nothing much... But it was okay. ROME ended for good last night too, I'm still awaiting the episode download to be done and am VERY excited but also scared... I love this show to death, but understand it's extremely expensive to make... I'm just glad we got a second season! If you have yet to see ROME WATCH IT! It's amazing!

I am sick! I have a sinus cold or something which I'm blaming on 7-Eleven and it's stupid cooler that I had to recieve orders in for the past 2 nights. It's probably ACTUALLY due to the fact that I haven't been eating well for the past while. I've been slightly annorexic I guess. I've been sleeping all day and going to work at night and only having like 1 meal a day, but making sure it's junk like McDonalds so that I have a ton of calories from it to use as energy, but not so much that I don't lose weight... All was going well until I started feeling a cold coming on and realized that my body has no nutrients in it and that I wouldn't be able to fight this off... Oh well. As soon as it starts getting warmer at night I'm going to start jogging again... I think Surrey will be kinda nice to jog in actually, I see people doing it all the time.

Yesterday I went to see the movie Fido with Terrill in Abby. The film is a satire on the movies of the 1950s (mainly the TV show Lassie actually) and the zombie movie genre. Earth gets covered in "space dust" that resurrects corpses which roam the earth looking for humans. A man creates a collar device that controls the zombies and makes them people's slaves. The device has a light that goes out when the zombie has the desire to eat humans in which case the humans kill the zombie and buy a new one. A young boy, Timmy (obvious homage to Timmy from Lassie), and his family buy a zombie which Timmy names Fido. Fido kills Timmy's neighbor but Timmy loves Fido so he tries to cover it up. The movie had it's moments, but overall I think it tried way too hard to be funny. It was over the top to the point where I felt they were stopping the movie going "You see what we're doing here? We're parodying the old Lassie TV show... You know! Where they go "What's the matter girl?" (bark bark) "Timmy fell down a well?"" If it had played those scenes cool and it didn't seem so forced it might have been humorous, but really... the premise is pretty weak for a feature-length film... I think it would have been a cute funny short film and that it's length is what made is seem forced...

Tonight, after I finished my tasks I drew a picture of Gail (my co-worker and good friend) I'll post it soon... Right now I'm feeling the effects of Nyquil and am going to pass out... hopefully I'll be feeling better. I hate working when I'm sick!

PS! I recently read Blankets by Craig Thompson. It's a graphic novel about first love. It was a bit long and the christianity of it made me a bit uncomfortable at times, but overall it was an awesome read! I LOVED the ending!
