On Tuesday, January 12th, the Caribbean region of Haiti was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake. Over 100,000 are expected to have died in this disaster. Haiti is already known as being one of the most poverty-stricken areas in the World, and will need desperate help in their relief efforts.

About 3 million people, one-third of Haiti's population, were affected by the quake, which tore down buildings, power lines, and utility channels. The scope of this tragedy is immense, and it's time to take immediate action. You can play a role in this relief effort by donating clothes, food, clothing, and supplies.

Local Birmingham, AL parish, Saint Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, is collecting monetary donations. As you can imagine, the local clinics that survived the damage in Haiti will be overwhelmed. If you are able, we encourage you to send donations to this local parish in Birmingham. No donation is too small.

Josh Smith, who many of you have seen touring with Taylor as lead guitarist, has released his 6th studio album - titled "Inception." "Inception" is an all instrumental guitar record featuring a range of styles from Rock to Jazz, Soul and Blues. The album features 11 original compositions by Josh, along with covers of the old Monk standard "Bemsha Swing," and the Ray Charles gem, "Drown in My Own Tears."

Josh has years of experience playing with some incredible musicians and artists. At an early age, he began sitting in with such greats as Jimmy Thackery, Tinsley Ellis, Kenny Neal, Lucky Peterson, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, Double Trouble, Joanna Connor and Kim Simmonds, among others. Jimmy Thackery said of the 14-year-old, “Josh is three heartbreaks away from being a true blues guitar genius.” At just 14, Josh released his first CD, Born Under a Blue Sign. With now over fifteen years of professional experience, Josh continues to successfully challenge himself musically, as it shows in this well-crafted project.

Recorded in May, 2007 at the legendary Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, Taylor and his band perform a number of his favorites in front of an enthusiastic "Soul Patrol" audience. The DVD is available in stores TODAY (January 5th), and you can your copy Today!

While in town for Grease, Taylor will perform the National Anthem at the Carolina Panthers game this Sunday, December 6th!  The game will be aired on FOX, so depending on your region, you can catch the performance on TV.  Check you local listings.

We have a little holiday treat for you! We will be giving away ten (10) tickets for Taylor's show in Madison, WI via Twitter to five random lucky winners.

Here's the deal - Starting Friday, November 13th, all you have to do to enter is retweet (RT) Taylor's message regarding the contest and include @taylorrhicks in your tweet.

Contest rules:
1. Eligibility. Participation open only to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Void outside of the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, and where prohibited, taxed or restricted by law.
