I don't want any negitive comments about him. I wasn't a fan but I was in the 80's ...anything negative keep it to yourself....
(CNN) --
Michael Jackson, the show-stopping singer whose best-selling albums --
including "Off the Wall," "Thriller" and "Bad" -- and electrifying
stage presence made him one of the most popular artists of all time,
died Thursday, CNN has confirmed. Michael Jackson, shown in 2008, was one of the biggest pop stars in history.
He was 50.
He
collapsed at his residence in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles,
California, about noon Pacific time, suffering cardiac arrest,
according to brother Randy Jackson. He died at UCLA Medical Center.
Jackson's
blazing rise to stardom -- and later fall from grace -- is among the
most startling of show business tales. The son of a steelworker, he
rose to fame as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, a band he formed with
his brothers in the late 1960s. By the late '70s, as a solo artist, he
was topping the charts with cuts from "Off the Wall," including "Rock
With You" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."
In 1982, he
released "Thriller," an album that eventually produced seven hit
singles. An appearance the next year on a Motown Records 25th-..anniversary special cemented his status as the biggest star in the country. Timeline: The life of Michael Jackson »
For
the rest of the 1980s, they came no bigger. "Thriller's" follow-up,
1987's "Bad," sold almost as many copies. A new Jackson album -- a new
Jackson appearance -- was a pop culture event. iReport: Share your
memories of Michael Jackson
The pop music landscape was
changing, however, opening up for rap, hip-hop and what came to be
called "alternative" -- and Jackson was seen as out of step.
His
next release, 1991's "Dangerous," debuted at No. 1 but "only" produced
one top-ranking single -- "Black or White" -- and that song earned
criticism for its inexplicably violent ending, in which Jackson was
seen smashing car windows and clutching his crotch. Don't Miss
* In Depth: Michael Jackson * Explainer: Cardiac arrest vs. heart attack
And
then "Dangerous" was knocked out of its No. 1 spot on the album charts
by Nirvana's "Nevermind," an occurrence noted for its symbolism by rock
critics.
After that, more attention was paid to Jackson's
private life than his music career, which faltered. A 1995 two-CD
greatest hits, "HIStory," sold relatively poorly, given the huge
expense of Jackson's recording contract: about 7 million copies,
according to Recording Industry of America certifications.
A 2001 album of new material, "Invincible," did even worse.
In 2005, he went to trial on child-..molestation charges. He was acquitted.
In
July 2008, after three years away from the spotlight, Jackson announced
a series of concerts at London's O2 Arena as his "curtain call." Some
of the shows, initially scheduled to begin in July, were eventually
postponed until 2010.
Rise to stardom
Michael Jackson was
born August 29, 1958, to Joe Jackson, a Gary, Indiana, steelworker, and
his wife, Katherine. By the time he was 6, he had joined his brothers
in a musical group organized by his father, and by the time he was 10,
the group -- the Jackson 5 -- had been signed to Motown.
He made his first television appearance at age 11.
Jackson,
a natural performer, soon became the group's front man. Music critic
Langdon Winner, reviewing the group's first album, "Diana Ross Presents
the Jackson 5," for Rolling Stone, praised Michael's versatile singing
and added, "Who is this 'Diana Ross,' anyway?"
The group's first
four singles -- "I Want You Back," "ABC," "The Love You Save" and "I'll
Be There" -- went to No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart, the first time
any group had pulled off that feat. There was even a Jackson 5 cartoon
series on ABC.
In 1972, he hit No. 1 as a solo artist with the song "Ben."
The
group's popularity waned as the '70s continued, and Michael eventually
went solo full time. He played the Scarecrow in the 1978 movie version
of "The Wiz," and released the album "Off the Wall" in 1979. Its
success paved the way for "Thriller," which eventually became the
best-selling album in history, with 50 million copies sold worldwide.
At that point, Michael Jackson became ubiquitous.
Seven
of "Thriller's" nine cuts were released as singles; all made the Top
Ten. The then-new cable channel MTV, criticized for its almost
exclusively white playlist, finally started playing Jackson's videos.
They aired incessantly, including a 14-minute minimovie of the title
cut. ("Weird Al" Yankovic cemented his own stardom by lampooning
Jackson's song "Beat It" with a letter-perfect parody video.)
On the Motown Records' 25th-..anniversary
special -- a May 1983 TV extravaganza with notable turns by the
Temptations, the Four Tops and Smokey Robinson -- it was Michael
Jackson who stopped the show.
Already he was the most popular
musician in America, riding high with "Thriller." But something about
his electrifying performance of "Billie Jean," complete with the
patented backward dance moves, boosted his stardom to a new level.
People copied his Jheri-curled hair and single-gloved, zippered-..jacket
look. Showbiz veterans such as Fred Astaire praised his chops. He posed
for photos with Ronald and Nancy Reagan at the White House. Paul
McCartney teamed with him on three duets, two of which -- "The Girl Is
Mine" and "Say Say Say" -- became top five hits. Jackson became a Pepsi
spokesman, and when his hair caught fire while making a commercial, it
was worldwide news.
It all happened very fast -- within a couple
years of the Motown special. But even at the time of the "Motown 25"
moonwalk, fame was old hat to Michael Jackson. He hadn't even turned 25
himself, but he'd been a star for more than half his life. He was given
the nickname the "King of Pop" -- a spin on Elvis Presley's status as
"the King of Rock 'n' Roll" -- and few questioned the moniker.
Relentless attention
But,
as the showbiz saying has it, when you're on top of the world, there's
nowhere to go but down. The relentless attention given Jackson started
focusing as much on his eccentricities -- some real, some rumored -- as
his music.
As the Web site Allmusic.com
notes, he was rumored to sleep in a hyperbaric chamber and to have
purchased the bones of John Merrick, the "Elephant Man." (Neither was
true.) He did have a pet chimpanzee, Bubbles; underwent a series of
increasingly drastic plastic surgeries; established an estate,
Neverland, filled with zoo animals and amusement park rides; and
managed to purchase the Beatles catalog from under Paul McCartney's
nose, which displeased the ex-Beatle immensely.
In 1990s and
2000s, Jackson found himself pasted across the media for his
short-lived marriages, the first to Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa
Marie; his 2002 claim that then Sony Records head Tommy Mottola was
racist; his behavior and statements during a 2003 interview with
British journalist Martin Bashir done for a documentary called "Living
With Michael Jackson;" his changing physical appearance; and, above
all, the accusations that he sexually molested young boys at Neverland.
The
first such accusation, in 1993, resulted in a settlement to the
13-year-old accuser (rumored to be as high as $20 million), though no
criminal charges were filed, Allmusic.com notes.
He
also fell deeply in debt and was forced to sell some of his assets.
Neverland was one of many holdings that went on the block. However, an
auction of material from Neverland, scheduled for April, was called off
and all items returned to Jackson.
Interest in Jackson never
faded, however, even if some of it was prurient. In 2008, when he
announced 10 comeback shows in London, beginning in July 2009, the
story made worldwide news. The number of concerts was later increased
to 50.
Seventy-five thousand tickets sold in four hours when they went on sale in March.
However,
when the shows were postponed until 2010, rumors swept the Internet
that Jackson was not physically prepared and possibly suffering from
skin cancer.
At the time, the president and CEO of AEG Live,
Randy Phillips, said, "He's as healthy as can be -- no health problems
whatsover." advertisement
Jackson held open auditions for dancers in April in Los Angeles.
He is survived by his three children, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince II

Current mood: drunk
To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine..and those who don't.
I Didn't write this but I figured I'd like to share....
As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom,
In beer there is freedom,
In water there i s bacteria.
In a number of carefully controlled trials,
Scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli,
(E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces.
In other words, we are consuming
1 kilo of poop.
However, we do NOT run that risk when
Drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whisky or other liquor), because alcohol has to go through a purification
Process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting..
Remember:
Water = Poop, Wine = Health .
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid,
Than to drink water and be full of shit.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:
I'm doing it as a public service in the interest of shitty logic by alcoholics

Ok I thought and thought about what I could write about my time at the lovely corrections center, and I def. have alot I could say about a lot of the people...ok fine 99 percent of the...no ...no... 99.99 percent of the people in there but decided that I wanted to keep the shit talking to a minimum, as I am afraid I will be in a dark alley alone one night and one of them will stick me with a used needle...and it won't even have drugs in it!!! lol well, It was probably the worst jail in New England, at least for woman, I'm sure the guys had it a tad bit easier as they could wander the halls and eat semi warm meals. I know it sounds crazy being that this jail is in Unity. a town with population 200 and 100 of them being inmates...but imagine like...50 middle aged hillbillies coming off the heroine all at one time. Even the woman at Nashua st. In Boston knew how to act like humans... A myspace friend of mine whom shall remain nameless (DAVE) asked me if I was talking about an loony bin or a jail...and ya know what I figured out...it wasn't a correction facility or a place to get sane...it was a MOTHER FUCKING ZOO imagine 14 Monkeys and Tigers mixed up together in one cage wait...UGLY monkeys and Tigers with anger management issues.. anyhow I say this because although monkeys are kinda smart, you can't give them much credit i mean come on...they eat lice off each others bodies (since they are actually human in jail I'll call it switching Hep C. with each other) they fuck off all day flapping their gums because they know the zoo keepers will come running with the pointy stick sticking it in the cage to keep the tigers from eating them alive... day and night the monkeys play laughing, crying, vomiting, acting a damn fool...and day and night the tigers, who are fierce creatures stay tame because they are no longer wild animals, they have been locked in a cage and rehabilitated to not kick the ass' of fuckin monkeys without the repurcusions of zoo keepers with really big fingers (inside story) coming and poking at them... although i was heavily medicated (those monkeys should be thankful) I can honestly say...i would have rather been stuck, naked in a room of ugly, horny, single butch lesbians.. then with a bunch of diseased inbred lice eating monkeys who are coming off the dope... and if any of these losers can afford a computer..and come across this when they get out...fuck you, get a damn job, get off the dope (have you heard of clean needle exchange) GET YOUR KIDS BACK and become a productive member of society....then come see me, cuz I'll still kick your ass!

A few years back, my brother Richard, was in a serious fire IN NH, they sent him to CT for treatment he was in a coma for almost 2 months.
well Last night, I got a call from a hospetle in Oregon telling me they found him drunk, unconscience, with a broken jaw and he still hasnt woken up, he is on life support.
I go to jail on Tuesday the 10th and when i get out on the 17th if he is still on life support, I will have to fly out to sign papers to end his life. He made me the one to make the decision because he told me if something like this happens again, to have his plug pulled,
I'm asking everyone who comes across this page to send a thought and prayer to him and pass this blog around to your friends the more prayers the better, i don't want to have to kill him I just want him to get better and wake up.
then when he does I'll have to give him the same speech I gave him when he got out of the hospetel in CT...
He's had a tough life, we grew up in an abusive home...I know he is a fighter, but I honestly am scared that I may have to pull the plus on my brother...he will be 30 at the end of May
I'd like to at least see him make that..
please send this blog to as many people as you can...
MY BROTHER WOKE UP! HE ONLY HAS A BREATHING TUBE AND HE SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO IN A WEEK!
THANK FREAKIN GOD I THOUGHT I LOST HIM!

This is take 2 of this blog I started to write, my lovely son decided to turn the computer off on me when I was almost done. I'm a die hard Patriots fan, next comes Pittsburg, NY, then Miami...I hate the cardinals, and I think the reason being is because the worst of the 3 high schools I went to had a Cardinal mascot. I miss the first half of the game due to i was busy blowing money i dont have at the mall a few hours away, but I made it back for half time put my son to bed, and reheated and ate the rest of my food I couldnt finish at Long Horn Steak House (they are great, if you havent been GO!) Anyways, I was a little disapointed with the game, too many penalties, not enough "run go, go, go" and too much falling. but the steelers won, Im happy, since last year when my home team (patriots) lost it was about time the team i was going for won since no one belived me that they would and I mean NO ONE. anyways I have a few favorite commercials I wanted to share and I want you to post (if your not to God Damn Lazy) in my comments section because I missed the first half of the game I also missed the first half of commercials. but before I do that I just wanted to say in the last 2 mins, when dude caught the ball but his feet were still in bounds, that was the most amazing part I saw anyways.. well heres a commercial, This commercial was my personal favorite because it reminds me of myself so much especially the chic in the car. So your thoughts on the game, did I miss anything in the first half that I shouldnt have missed and post your favorite commercial!

From: ♥Michelle♥ I SUPPORT BARACK OBAMA 08' Date: Oct 26, 2008 11:50 AM DESENDANTS OF JOHN MCCAIN WILL BE VOTING FOR BARACK OBAMA!!! WOW THIS IS SAD, HE DENIES HIS OWN FAMILY IN FEAR THAT HE MAY LOOSE WHITE VOTES. VERY SHAMEFUL MCCAIN. http://crooksandliars. com/david-neiwert/mccains-black-family-ties-touch-gops (Now This writer of the Ghetto Gospel will add my 2 cents) Obama is the only chance this country has to make a real change Have any of you McCain supporters noticed that he would rather crack jokes and bash on Obama instead of taking about the things that really need to change. It is because he has nothing to bring to the table. I value the friendship of all of my myspace friends, and respect you no matter who you vote for, I'm just trying to put a little light on the situation and maybe help you to change your minds. Politics isnt something that helps friendships, and if you must delete me because of our differences but I hope you wont because we all have a right to have our own opinions! See you all at the polls. Read up on Obama sometime this week and maybe this will help you change your mind about McCain. Comment who you will be voting for! and also your thoughts on both canidates!

The election is only a few days away. I thought I'd share with you who I will be voting for. I voted 4 years ago, and It WAS NOT for Bush This year I'm all for the "change" Placing Obama In the white house cannot cause any more of a ruckus then the ruckus that has been caused the last 8 years with monkey boy running our country. Voting for Mccain will not bring any change, things will only get worse...I guess thats change but it's negitive....I'm not going into too much. Before you decide who to vote for, Educate yourselves, go on Youtube and watch the debates, watch the news, anything to make you realize Obama is the best choice for the next 4-8 years. He is our only hope
