Hi everyone, we've been back from our summer tour now for about a month and are lying low from playing any shows right now because we have been focusing on writing new material for our next album "Love Is Not Control".
We are really excited about the new stuff we have been writing and just finished another new song last night called "You Are A Beacon".
Our hope is to be finished writing by the end of the year and recording early 2010. Keep posted and maybe we'll have some rough demos of some of the new stuff soon.
Cheers!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a little update about how things have been going on the road for us this summer. BEST TOUR YET! We have had an amazing time so far. Of course there have been some awesome shows, and some terrible ones. But overall things have been a lot of fun, and we have met some wonderful people and excellent bands. Tonight we're in Wichita and tomorrow we'll be in Lincoln, Ne. only a few more days until Cornerstone, and then after that we'll start our way back home. We still have a few open dates on our way home so if there is anything you could do to help us out, or know of someone who could, Please let us know that would be awesome. Thanks for everything. Love. TBL

Hey Everyone, Over the past few weeks we have been talking to people, making new friends and jamming with rad musicians. It has definitely been interesting and fun to explore all the options that we have been presented. It has been strange to think about a lot of stuff that you wouldn't normally have to think about when meeting new people like: "hmm I wonder how this person will deal with stressful situations or if they can show up on time or will they be able to handle being couped up in a van with Silas and me with no sleep, showers or food?" You know it's just not the average stuff you ask yourself about someone you've just met. But overall it has been a great time and a lot of fun.
With all that being said we are super excited to let you know about our new bass player, Brendan. He is an awesome dude and we felt like he just "fit" with us from the get go. And after spending some time hanging out and jamming together we knew he would definitely be the right guy for the job. We are really excited to have him join us and can't wait to start playing some shows again. get stoked.

Hello everyone, Once again The Blue Letter is on the quest for a new bass player. Our good friend Blake is going to be leaving the band.
Having Blake in the band for the last 10 months has been awesome. He definitely added to the sound and energy of the band. His parting of ways with the band is not because of some falling out or disruption or anything like that. But it is more of a matter of space and distance. Blake moved back to Atlanta just before Christmas, and we had planned to give the long distance thing a whirl. But 8 hour drives for shows and practices turned out to be too much to ask of anyone.
So now we are on the quest to find someone to fill his shoes. It feels weird to type a list of qualities you're looking for in a person, but to make this work, I guess it is something that is unavoidable so here we go. We're looking for someone: -who lives in Richmond, VA or would be willing to move here. -who can play the bass well, and preferably help with vocals. - be able to play shows, tour and practice on a regular basis. -who is commited and willing to make finacial contributions toward "band stuff" like the rent of our rehersal space and such. -who can be flexible yet punctual, dependable and easy going. -who can be professionally minded. -who is tolerant, open minded and forgiving. -as an already established band, we're not looking for someone who is going to be arguing over creative control or anything, but will be willing to work together to create new music in the direction we're already headed. -we are a loud and heavy band and have lots of gear. Even if you don't have a lot of stuff, the equipment you do have should be high quaility. But just remember stacks not combos.
There is probably more stuff to figure out too, but we can work through that as it comes. If you are interested, or know of anyone that might be and can recommend them that would be awesome so please let us know.
Blake's last show with us is going to be on February 3rd at Rumors, here in Richmond, with Now Sleepyhead, La Dispute and Asleep at the Bottom of the Sea. So definitely don't miss it.

Hey everyone, we have recently come across tons of old video footage from past shows and we will be uploading some of these to youtube over the next couple weeks as well as posting some of them on the myspace site! Be sure to check them out. In the meantime here is a short clip of us playing March of the Romans at someones house in Reno, Nevada sometime in the beginning of 2007. If you look closely you will notice that Blake is the only one watching. lol

Greetings from The Blue Letter headquarters here in Richmond, VA! The news items have been accumulating steadily since we last updated you, and we can hardly blame you for waiting breathlessly next to the computer for any signs of life.
-- First off, and most importantly: haircuts have been on our horizons lately. Check our new pics for proof of our new, clean-cut identities. -- We’ve relocated to beautiful downtown Richmond, VA, and we’re nestled snugly between the raging James River and a very large cemetery. That’s right; the force that is The Blue Letter now hails from the right coast. We’re really excited about touring with greater ease, and making new connections here in Virginia. If it’s good enough for GWAR, it’s good enough for us. -- We are delighted to announce that our good friend Blake from meandhimcallitus has joined the band playing bass. His move here from Atlanta, GA in February made the triforce complete, and so far our practices together have displayed a level of cohesion that not even The Blue Letter has ever experienced before. -- Blood & Ink records is preparing to release a digital collection for The Blue Letter that will include songs previously only available on vinyl, along with some TBL classics that have yet to be released digitally. Titled "With Every Breath Like a Sunset," the collection will be available on iTunes soon. -- With frequent practices in our new, tricked-out practice space paying off, we’re in the process of scheduling some shows for the near future. We should be playing out on the east coast by June, so stay tuned for tour date announcements. -- Writing a new 7" will be our pet project for this summer, and we anticipate that the 7" will be released by the end of the year.
If you would like to see us tear up the stage in your town sometime soon, message us and we’ll work with you to book a show. Thanks for sharing our excitement in this most illustrious of moments in The Blue Letter history.
-- TBL
