I had a chance to meet up with Mr. Ced-Boogie CEO and Co – CEO of Music Mania Television Ms. Felicia Sabree at the New England Urban Music Awards show in Boston, MA. This past spring 2009. They have a style that is hard to match and definitely can’t be copied easily. They are both dedicated to working hard to bring the public exclusive footage and pushing creative initiatives that brings a different style of music television and shows the real style and individuals behind the mania.

I’m always amazed at the way entrepreneurs take on new projects I asked Ced what made him become motivated to take on all the responsibility for yourself and start Music Mania Television? Ced answered, “The motivation came from my love of Hip Hop – It was not money – It was that I came to Mass and did not have any Hip-Hop –So I had a sort of background in music – carrying speakers and crates of records (before CD’s) for King Tribes International –(reggae sound set – RIP Nokey D Big Up – General O, Stryker and Linden) – so I missed it where I was at (Fitchburg – Big Up Green Street Cats) - so I just grinded it out – going to seminars, festivals, shows – talking to people – getting a connect here and there – it took a while – but now – I got a pretty decent rolodex.”

Ms. Sabree is a natural handling the on slot of back to back interviews and I was wondering since joining Music Mania Television what has been the most inspirational experience you have had working with Ced? Ms. Sabree answered, “Definitely the first Interview I conducted with Ced I was nervous and new to the scene. To see Ced maneuver, set up the equipment, talk with the artist people, I was like WOW, Ced is serious and dedicated. I admired him and his work ethic that day.”

Being around all these stars and performers all the time really had me questioning are the performers really buddy buddy with media professionals all the time, or do you sometimes encounter an artist who is hard to interview and has demands that are so outrageous that you may have to call off the interview? Ced answered “Oh yeah – the artist was Coro- Freestyle artist – (you can use the name or not) – he was off the hook – we went to his show – the host I had at the time (Joslin Green) – did the interview after the show, - so we go in the back of the stage area – by the offices – the green room – where the artist & his people chill – Yo he and his people were high on some next shi#t – he could not function – he tried to sit on the desk – slipped – couldn’t do that – so he sat in a chair – got that right – mind you we got camera and lights and everything watching him go thru this – then one of the females he was with comes up and gives him some more drugs – I was like yo – this is about to be a wrap – but we waited a few to get in at least some questions – he tried, but he was in another atmosphere – I deaded the interview – said we do it again – NOT.” That is really something else some of these artists really think they can play Jesus or something. Ced’s response regarding the artist was really wild example of the artist using talent irresponsibly.

The life of Music Mania Television is certain to encounter exciting events, Ms. Sabree what was the liveliest interview you have conducted and what would make you want to interview this or these individuals again? Ms. Sabree said, "Rock City" was the dopest interview. They had so much energy and charisma and at the same time so much credential in the music industry. It was an honor and I would love to work with them again.”

Ced how close on the edge have you been to saying forget it all, or is this really worth pursuing? Ced responded, “Nah – I never got to that point – because it was for the love of it not the $$$ - so the love for the Hip Hop- just expanded the show to get R&B videos, Gospel videos, alternative videos – interview with people from Alicia Keys to Wu-Tang – we working on getting X,Y, Z - so nah it never came to that – I mean we recorded interviews at the Tunnel in NYC, - Roxy in Boston - Middle East in Cambridge, been to Vegas, VA – Brooklyn Hip Hop festival – the list is endless – over 10 years strong over 300 episodes – I feel blessed you took the time to interview us – good looking.” No problem man, I definitely can’t wait to network with you more.

Seems like you work pretty fast on getting exclusive coverage from events. Has it taken you awhile to master to process involved for coming across the right information for getting events or interviews to schedule? Ced answered, “Yea it took a good long while – the access to artist used to be easier – I mean I would get management information straight from the Source Mag, (they don’t do that anymore) – The first national artist we interviewed was Lil Kim after BIG passed - that was great – We connected with Queen Bee Records office number from the back of the Source Magazine. One thing people may or may not realize – it that as large as Urban Music is – the decision makers are only a few people – and they all know each other – even if they are on different labels – so when you treat people decent (basically fair) do your shit and bounce or chill or whatever – people talk. That manifested itself when we did a show with Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz on the Gray Goose tour – We introduced ourselves before I started the interview – he was like yea –“I heard of you”- that was like real BIG for me – that let me know – people are talking about us and its all good – because we did the interview and did another one with them at Club Lido in Revere. Now I got e-mails and phone number for a lot of labels and contacts.”

With the misconception of the media industry being one of the “guy club” or male dominated industry I had to ask Ms. Sabree what strengths do you bring to Music Mania Television as a Co-CEO? Ms. Sabree answered, “I definitely bring the Strong Female energy to the table as a boss. I give my honest opinion when it comes to making decisions and with Ceds input we always come out with the best solutions. I love Entertainment so with the passion I’m dedicated to Music Mania.”

I could tell Ms. Sabree is very enthusiastic about push Music Mania Television. So I asked her what is your long term goal for Music Mania Television and where would you want to see it go? “Long term goals for music mania would def have to be getting in a better timer slot for the public and expand the staff and commodity of the Brand. Music Mania is a video show and its the dopest show on TV I would love to see it go national.”

What was or has been your biggest set back and how have you overcome it? Ced answered, “Well for me its always the $$. But you learn you can’t be everywhere – like in Feb. that’s a Big month – you got the NBA All-Star game – the Magic convention – the Grammy’s – you would like to be at everything, but we can’t so we try and catch artist when they come into town, no big thing”. Ms. Sabree answered, “Umm.. there have been times when things don’t go accordingly or money is tight but you know you just gotta keep pushing, we overcome set backs all the time, its apart of the business.”

I started working with Lushy Lush (Mojisola Edu) internet personality and media specialist at the end of January in 2009. Her tenacious "get it done" attitude is an example of her never quit personality that is committed to giving the people the real stories and media entertainment. Mojisola is a mastermind for creating her own niches within broadcasting and entertainment public relations, "I don’t wait for anything to move, I’ll create my own lane," Ms. Edu prides her work and efforts with this statement.

It has been a very interesting experience working with a woman who has such an electric personality which makes everyday an interesting experience. Her creative direction and leadership qualities inspire me everyday to do the best job possible and put a 110% effort into any task.

After getting to know Ms. Edu I had a few questions for her. Her passion for bringing the people good quality media and music will quickly rub off on anyone. So I asked her when did you realize you wanted to get into broadcasting & Media? Lushy Lush answered, "in college I had a show called the Noonies at noon at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne Maryland with this chick from New Jersey and it was killer. I was rapping and performing at that time, but that was the warm up. I started Lush Radio Online in July of 08 and if it wasn't for Kristen Afermi owner of WTR TV in Cleveland Ohio who introduced me to blog talk radio I would not be here... I have been blessed. From this show I have met wonderful people from all over the world."

Lushy Lush has rubbed elbows with some of hip hops most successful artists, producers, and entertainers. I especially would like to know who are some of your influences? Why? Lushy answered, "My mom she was always a strong women, she never gave up and my daddy rest in peace he was a go getter and hard worker. He said I could do anything I put my mind too. Maya Angelou, she inspired my poetry and she is just a strong black woman to me. Busy Bee, Chubb Rock, Rakim, & Camplo they are pure hip hop."

Lushy Lush’s style of getting the peoples attention is so care free, but organized and creative. Sometimes I often think I’m having too much fun, so do industry insiders sometimes not take you serious because of you name Lushy Lush? Lushy Lush stated, "Not really because my work speaks for it's self. And if they don't take me seriously then they will sooner or later." This is definitely true, in the short amount of time working with her I can name a few examples of individuals not taking her seriously, it has come back to bite them, that is another story. Her example truly embodies the very fact that people need to work in professions they enjoy working in, work should not seem like work at all.

With all of the competition in the media industry when did you realize that you were going to be successful in the industry? Lushy answered, "When I had my revelation and God told me." Ms. Edu certainly did not waste anytime and followed the direction of the lord and founded the media company Diverse Media Group, LLC. I also wondered what Influenced her to stick with it and focus on being successful in the industry? Lushy stated, "God and my daughter and the feeling that I have nothing to lose. I had to put my all in my business. I needed to create my own lane and put my self on when no one would give me a chance I gave myself a chance." It takes some people longer to realize than others that opportunities just don’t drop into a persons lap, people have to make things happen on their own accord.

In any business there are always plenty of obstacles, what obstacles did you overcome? Ms. Lushy Lush stated, "Making a name for myself and also overcoming being in a male dominated business, oh and the haters and learning that not all people are your friends in this game. Separate your friends from your enemies."

With her wide range of music preference and artist interviews I wanted to know which artist does Lushy Lush especially admire and who would she like to interview? "Lauryn Hill... I love her so... I wish she would come back... she was pure music," Lushy stated. What would you be doing if you were not in the music media broadcasting industry? "I might be dancing and open up my own dance studio. I love to dance it is a passion of mine and I love to teach children."

Her love for mentoring students has motivated many to do more with their education and daily life. She's always got he GAMPHACE on with the G-GAME PLAN, A-ATTITUDE, M-MOTIVATION, P=PRIDE, H-HUNGER, A-AMBITION, C-CONFIDENCE, and E-EXCELLENCE to succeed. As first lady of the GAMPHACE fashion line, "PUT YOUR GAMPHACE ON !" she always has her game plan ready and looks to show others how to prepare themselves for everyday life via positive outlets and public relations campaigns.

Lushy Lush has an interesting saying that gives a seal of approval to anything that she is promoting. I asked her what gave her the idea of coming up with the term you just officially got stamped? Lushy answered, "Oh I needed a trade mark statement that would stick in people s head that they would never forget. I tried it out a couple of times people loved the phrase and it was a wrap ever since… you just officially got stamped!"

Officially stamp your people and give them your Shout Outs… "To the creator God my family my daughter Natalia, friends, Diverse Media Group LLC , Consultingguy , TJ, Bump of Strictly Bump One, Mz. Suzzie, Billy Blass , the whole Macktivity family, Trip, Issa, Rinessy, DJ Hustle, Yotechgraff, E2K Magazine, Busybee , Hood Punishers, Madam Madon, Streetqueenz The Movement, Camplo, Savon, MNS Media, Queenpen, Nigeria Worldwide, Normanlee, Rockwell, Legion, Doc Holiday, DIRadio, Young Soulja, & OEnt., Musicjones, Chubb Rock, Spolkes, Heron Demarco, Gamphace, DJ Lady Blaze, Acafool, & DJ Popa Hatz"

Current mood:Aca Fool Mood
Category: Music

By: The Consultingguy

Aca Fool is an iconic hip hop personality who has an electric and humorously charismatic style which has gain him respect on the showmanship side as well as business side of the music industry. It was interesting to hear his interview on Lush Radio Online, his style of professionalism as well as business savvy itself is a unique marketable strategy of expressionism.

Lushy lush informed me that Mr. Aca Fool is good person to know and I was amazed when he recorded a drop for Lush Radio Online and myself on the spot. It was quite shocking, he didn’t hesitate two seconds. I was convinced for sure that Mr. Aca Fool was about getting his networking and business game on as well as having fun doing it. People will be able to tell for sure that Mr. Aca Fool enjoys what he does and does not really consider what he does work.

His honesty and timely antics led me to ask if you weren’t producing the hottest track for sound tracks and keeping the airwaves tuned into your sound what do you think you would be doing now? Aca Fool responded, "If I wasn't in music, I'd definitely be pursuing my other passion which is acting... However, I would be pulling my hair out at my counseling/psychology job because that's what I got my degree in."

Landing such notable contracts as having as his song "Ride" featured on the "Fast And Furious" soundtrack led me to the question of when did you realize that you were going to be successful in the industry? Mr. Aca Fool answered, "It still haven't come to that realization… Guess perception is reality and for me on the inside looking out I feel like I still got a LONG way to go, got alot more noise to make, so I have some great accomplishments under my belt but I'm HARD on myself and my measurement of SUCCESS is a lil bit higher than most people but I'm holding my own in the industry so I'm doing good." Well what obstacles did you overcome? Aca answered, "In this business obstacles come a dime a dozen, and there are so many for me but I'd have to say BUDGET has always been the consistent obstacle for me but I gotta thank GOD, DREAM CHASERS ENT, and MYSELF for consistently finding way's to get through that obstacle and being creative with the BUDGET we have and making moves based on good relationships."

Aca Fool has a very impressive story I asked him what influenced him to stick with it and focus on being a success in the industry? Mr. Aca Fool answered, "Honestly, I look in the mirror alot and ask myself what the heck are you still doing in this business because I HATE roller coaster rides and that's what this business is. However, I have to say my reason for sticking with it is that music comes natural to me and it's something that makes me happy at times and I have genuine people that support my movement and believe in my talent and obviously the potential for success with me is GREAT so quitting isn't an option. It's just important that I try to tap into all avenues of the business that I believe I can garner maximum attention, generate a buzz and make some money." Next I asked well how often do you work on perfecting your craft more, or perfecting you niche? Aca Fool answered, "I'm in the studio right now, working on a song for placement for cable show as well as my new mixtape "My Crazy Summer" and I still gotta engineer other peoples sessions. So I'd say that I'm perfecting my craft and niche EVERYDAY." Sounds like Aca Fool relates to not getting any rest until the job is done and done correctly.

With all of this said I knew how professional Aca Fool was, but do industry insiders sometimes not take you serious because of your professional name Aca Fool? Aca Fool stated, "Initially people don't take me serious, but once they hear me speak and see how I get down in the studio, their perception of me tends to change. I'm far from a fool, so don't let the name fool you." After having a conversation with him precise and methodical diction and conversation with him would not lead anyone to think otherwise.

I also wanted to know in particular who are some the artists or producers that have an influence in his music? And why? Aca Fool answered, "A tribe called Quest, Outkast, NWA, New edition, BBD, Whitney Houston, Slick Rick, Snoop Dog, 2 live crew, Boyz to Men, The Fugees, Hot Boyz, Usher, Dr. Dre, Jermain dupri, Timbaland, biggie, 2 pac, Kanye, T.I, LUDA the list goes on really. All these different artist and producers showed what GOOD MUSIC is." Also Which artist would you especially like to work with? He answered, "Andre 3000, Wyclef and Ice Cube." Definitely they are classic artists in the game holding their own.

What gave you the idea of coming up with that funny sound at the end of your drops? Aca Fool answered, "Ahh The YEEEEEEAAHH!!!!, Lil John inspired that because I was fascinated at how he can say it and not hurt his voice. Everytime I tried, I almost blew out a vocal cord so blame him....lmao." It certainly is an attention grabbing signature piece to his showmanship and it's funny as well.

It was a pleasure having the opportunity to interview you Mr. Aca Fool, go ahead and give them all your shout outs. "God, Shout out to Lushy!!!!, DREAM CHASERS ENT., MY FAMILY, Music Matrix Studio, the haters and a big shout out to MYSELF because some thing definitely wrong wit me, YEAAAAH!!!!!"
