Hey, remember that Dandys themed Pedalpalooza bike ride that Fatty and Zia took part in last June? Well, the organizers of that ride are doing it again next week before our "Natale Italiano" shows in Portland, December 12 and 13th. Rides originate in SE at Col Summers Park and end up on Mississippi in North, not too far from Wonder Ballroom. You should go, because you like fun things.

Hey. So this weekend, right?
So the Dandys are at the Clean Air Clear Stars festival Saturday night, but we're hoping that you're making your way there, well, right now, because the fun starts Friday night with some supercool bands and other debaucheries. And on Saturday, there is a whole Oregon Trail wagon-load of Beat The World bands playing. Oh yeah, like who, Gothman? Well, our newest band, 1776, will be playing at 1pm, you do not want to miss these kids. At 6pm, our returning champs, The Upisdedown, take the stage, and at 8pm it's our tour latest tour partners, Sprindrift. Then the Dandys go on at 9pm. Then the world blows up. Then there is Sunday with a bunch more groovy cats.
If you're in Portland, catch the remaining Beat The World artist Logan Lynn as he plays MFNW tonight, 9pm at East End. Check that out, and check out Logan's great new record, From Pillar to Post.
Did you skip the opening page of the website? I know I usually do, but we have a couple of tunes for you to listen to this time around, or covers of "Sister Golden Hair" and "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere". Click the banner at the very top of the page to go there. Just look at those Dandys... those dirty hippies.

I shouldn't have to tell you that Love and Rockets is pretty much everyone's favorite band around here. The Dandys have a special relationship with David, Danny, and Kevin going back to '96 when the Dandys toured with the goth/psychedelic rockers and have remained close. So when they called up and asked if the Dandys wanted to contribute to a Love and Rockets tribute album the answer was a resounding "hell yeah."
So this record is out now - New Tales To Tell - A Tribute to Love and Rockets - featuring the Dandys' cover of "Inside the Outside" along with a whole slew of super cool covers by a whole slew of super cool cats. Look for it in stores now or download from the usual suspects like iTunes. -=-g

Hey.
Since the tragic news of Mr. Jackson’s passing yesterday, we here at The Odditorium have been besieged with requests of the status of The Dandys’ cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird”, as foretold, and some would say, fore-promised (that’s probably not a word), in the title track of our 2003 album Welcome To The Monkey House. Please note that this was not an anticipated event and we had no cover of “Blackbird” all rearin’ to go. I mean, how could we? With both Courtney and Fathead currently out of town we cannot say when we will be able to get to this cover of “Blackbird”, but we will, as soon as we are all together and able, since we have come to find that it means so much to a lot of you.
We thank you for your continued love and patience. Much love back, on behalf of The Dandy Warhols and all of us here at the Odditorium in Portland.

We thought it would be fun to tour with our friends and label mates Spindrift, so we came up with this, what we are calling "THE BACKBONE OF AMERICA TOUR". (See if you can figure out why.) All shows are all ages, so you can throw that fake I.D. in the trash. (No one believes it anyway.)
Tickets are already on sale (or, on "pre-sale") if you're a Dandys subscriber. OH!! Tickets for the rest of youse go on sale at noon tomorrow (June 24th). That's probably noon our time (pacific), not yours. Check back here then for a special pre-sale widget. (Tickets for the Monolith Festival, September 13 at Red Rocks are already on sale, no waiting or widgets.)
