Hello all, been getting a lot of concerned emails about the contest so I just wanted to give a few updates. 1. Yep, the contest is still on and is NOT a fraud 2. We will have the YouTube page set up soon. Been on tour and just haven't had a chance to get to it. My sincere apologies. If your video doesn't get uploaded, let us know. 3. The submissions were awesome. We really appreciate all the effort that went into their making 4. The band is currently reviewing all submissions and will have narrowed down to 5 finalists for voting. We are doing this to avoid the unsavery practice of voting spam. The finalists will be announced next week. 5. We'll be sendng a free copy of our new single and a special gift to all those that submitted a video as a thanks. We'll be in touch for addresses. 6. Voting will end 15 July and a winner will be announced the next day. I know this isn't exactly as was posted originally, but think the spirit of the video contest is well in tact. We just didn't want somebody running a Bot to be rewarded with a $1000. If you don't win this time around, no need to despair, We'll be having another contest this fall. Hint hint. The new single comes out in a couple weeks, so if you want more time to work on something.... All the best and many many thanks for all your hard and creative work. Hey all! Just a quick update to let you know what's happening in Hush Now Land. Lots of exciting things in the works, some of which I can't tell you about but soon enough, soon enough.

Only a few more days left in the video contest (see previous blog post) so definitely upload those submissions to YouTube ASAP as the contest ends Monday. We've been watching all of the great videos you guys have done and needless to say we're very impressed!

We've been rehearsing in preparation for our NYC show this weekend at Fontana's Bar and the west coast dates that start next week. If you're in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or L.A., come on out and say hello at our inaugural shows on the west coast! (The Portland and SF shows are still in the works so check back for details.) Look for some new songs from album two and maybe a cover worked into the set too.

Just a short note to remind you that this coming Friday, May 1st, The Hush Now will be live at T.T. The Bear's Place in beautiful Cambridge, Massachusetts! This show was put together by Boston-based music blogger and all-around good dude Brad Searles and we're thrilled to be appearing along with three other terrific bands. Here's the details:

Trust us, this is a show you will be hearing about and what else are you doing Friday? You've already seen every episode of Eastbound & Down at least two times. You may think you're going to put a respectable dent in that volume of Proust or Rilke or whatever it is you kids read but you know you're not. So it'll probably end up like every other night you ignore the urging of your concerned (and more active) friends: you and a pizza-flavored burrito, sixer of PBR, and MySpace. Do yourself a favor and come check out some terrific local and nationally-touring bands at T.T.'s! You can thank us later!

Hello friends and fans. Well, the time has finally come to declare a winner in The Hush Now's poster contest! We asked you to come up with a poster to promote our upcoming May 1st gig with Now, Now Every Children and you flooded our inbox with beautiful graphics. So we would just like to once again thank everybody who took the time to create something for us and send it in.

Without further ado, the winner of the $100 prize is Max Marshall for the design you see below. Congrats Max! We'll be in touch shortly to arrange a convenient way for you to claim your prize.

The contest has ended; below find the three finalists for The Hush Now's poster design contest. We were initially hoping to have an online poll and let you pick the winner but it quickly became evident that people were "stuffing" our virtual ballot box, disproportionately voting for one particular design. Instead we're just going to pick our favorite from amongst the three finalists. We'll announce the winner very soon so please check back!
