From the good folks at CDBaby.com: "Starting on Monday, January 25th and continuing for two weeks, we will donate $1 of our cut from every CD sale through our website, and $1 from every download sale over $8.99 on our site, to the American Red Cross and to Mercy Corps, a Portland-based relief organization with a large presence in Haiti. With your help, we hope to raise tens of thousands of dollars." So if you don't have "Co. Sligo" or "Another Nickel For The Pope" yet, starting Monday you have as good a reason as any to get 'em. All credit goes to the good people at CDBaby.com; it's from their profits that the donations will be made. Even if you don't buy our records, please donate in any way you can. Cheers, TMR

The extremely kick-arse Jo Problems posted this review of our recent gig at The Dragonfly. Thank you, Jo, and thanks to everyone who came out; it was, by far, the biggest circle pit we've had yet.
The Mighty Regis and others – at The Dragonfly – Los Angeles, CA
 This
past Wednesday night was rainy, cold (for California) and generally
awesome, because the Dragonfly Bar on Santa Monica Blvd was taking a
brief pause from DJs and club nights and hosting an eclectic lineup of
bands for the evening.
When we first arrived, there was plenty
of room to grab a table and watch the first band set up. The house DJ
was spinning lots of ska from the Selecter to The Specials. The first
band to go on were The Question, who turned out to include a couple
original members of the Untouchables, and did a wide range of covers
including selections from Small Faces, The Monkees, and ending with the
Untouchables’ own "Wild Child". The bar wasn’t packed, but those who
were there were grooving along with the band, and one or two people
seemed to be singing along with the more commonly known numbers.

The Question played for nearly an hour before yielding the stage to The
Mighty Regis. If you’ve left the house at all in the last few months,
you’ve probably heard something about them. If you haven’t, you should
really pay better attention. The Mighty Regis play fast Celtic Punk
rock, like Neck with a mandolin, or Flogging Molly on speed. During
their set singer Frankie McNorman quipped that they go so fast by the
middle of the song he’s just shouting gibberish. Gibberish or no, The
Mighty Regis set the house on fire, and kept the dedicated crowd
furiously dancing for almost another full hour. If you’re in town this
weekend, they’ll be at the Auld Dubliner in Long Beach this Saturday.
If you’re not, they’re on the Warped Tour this summer, or check: www.myspace.com/themightyregis for dates, or just to listen to some tunes.
Dead Girl’s Corp, newly returned to the LA scene was up next, but
unfortunately they seemed to be having some technical difficulties, we
had work in the morning, and a longish bus ride waiting, so we couldn’t
hang around for their set, or the Fabulous Miss Wendy but the Mighty
Regis alone were worth the effort of coming out on a rainy Wednesday
night.

Paddy 'ere. Last night I drove down to Matt Hensley's joint in lovely Carlsbad and caught The Street Dogs tear up the joint in a not-so-secret show. In the tradition of "anything-the-Street-Dogs-can-do-we-can-do-better," THE MIGHTY REGIS make their return to "the best Irish pub in San Diego" this Friday, starting at 8:00. Not enough TMR for ya? How about Saturday night, Universal Bar & Grill, with our mates The Lonely Wolves and others? That should tide ya over for now. Happy New Year from all of us in TMR. Slainté, Paddy THE MIGHTY REGIS

Cheers, and Happy New Year from all of us in TMR. 2010's starting off pretty damn well for us, as we're unbelievably proud to announce that WE'VE SIGNED ON TO PLAY THE "KEVIN SAYS" STAGE AT THIS YEAR'S VANS WARPED TOUR. The man in charge, Mr. Kevin Lyman, has asked us to play the whole tour, but as of now our plan is to play the first month, starting in San Diego on June 24th and ending up in Charlotte on July 22nd. Should our situation change in the next six months that allows us to do more, we happily will.
We want to thank Mighty Mobsters everywhere for their continued support, and we can't wait to see all of you in 2010!
Slainté, THE MIGHTY REGIS

Paddy 'ere. The lads and lassy an' me hope ya had your fill o' the turkey bird, and were where ya wanted ta be this past holiday. We've got two shows comin' up, with a runnin' theme..."LAST"...as in:
-LAST shows o' the year; -LAST show at Molly Malone's (our 3+ year residency will be no more after Dec. 10th; we'll always have a special place in our heart for Damien's pub on Fairfax, and we'll definitely play there again, but TMR at Molly's on Thursdays comes to a close); -LAST show with Gabby Byrne (Dec. 16th at Dragonfly is where we say 'cheers' to the world's drunkest drummer; at least our bar tabs'll be easier ta handle, yeah?).
We're hopin' ta make the Molly's show somewhat of a blowout; maybe a drink special or two, and we're gonna try and have two new songs in the set. We hope ta see ya there.
Slainte', Paddy THE MIGHTY REGIS

For anyone who doesn't yet own a copy of "CO. SLIGO" or "ANOTHER NICKEL FOR THE POPE," at our two gigs this weekend we'll be sellin' them for the low, low price of....WHATEVER YOU WANT. If $0 is what you want to pay, works for us; if you want to give, as Carl the groundskeeper would say, "you know, a little somethin' fer the effort," that works, too. We want as many people as possible to have our music, so pay what you want, let your friends rip a copy, post it on the interwebs, it's all cool with us.
Saturday, The Auld Dubliner in Long Beach, 10:00pm
Sunday, Gallaghers in Huntington Beach, 9:00pm
Both shows are 3 hours long, free, and 21+.
Cheers, THE MIGHTY REGIS

Hot on the heels of the departure of Ronnie McDunnald, our dear friend Gabby Byrne is moving on to bigger and better. While we wish him nothing but the best, it leaves us with a gigantic hole to fill come November. That's why we're putting out the call to you, Mighty Mobsters all...if you know of a kick-arse drummer lookin' for a band to join, send him our way, yeah? He or she should be professional, easy-going, and have some affinity for punk (celtic or otherwise). Any fan of TMR knows how unbelievable Gabby Byrne's been behind the kit for us, and we do NOT want to take a step backward. We're findin' out how hard a task this is, and if you can be of any help, we'd be forever grateful.
On a side note, the amazing and handsome Paul Rucker of THE STREET DOGS has graciously offered to fill in for us once he returns from his "State Of Grace" European tour. While we hope to have someone in place before then, that's not a bad fallback plan, yeah? (Sticks Downey was unavailable, by the way.)

If ya check the "Band Members" area of our myspace page, you'll notice a change at Lead Guitar. One of the founders of this feast, Ronnie McDunnald, has moved on. It's not a stretch to say that with no Ronnie, there would'nt have been a REGIS. While we're sad to see him go, we wholeheartedly wish him the best, as we know we'll remain friends forever (sounds like something you'd put in yer yearbook). The turtlenecked schoolteacher has even offered to fill in, when available, for our new full-time 6-stringer, Ben Wise The Brave. Goldenface, an outstanding guitar player with his own solo album, needs to be seen to be appreciated, so do yourself a favor and come see us live, yeah? You can even welcome Ben to the band personally; unlike Franky, he's very friendly.

We've been extended an invitation to play the PANGEA MUSIC FESTIVAL on either Sept. 25th or 26th.
Problem A) we would have to pre-sell 30 tickets; any tickets we don't sell, we have to pay for ourselves. Tickets for Friday are $15, Saturday $20.
Problem B) we're playing a free show at the Auld Dubliner on Saturday night (a good problem to have, if you ask me).
Before we commit to this event, are there some folks out there interested enough in this festival to want to buy a ticket from us? Should be some quality bands on the bill, but we'd be curious to hear what you all think.
Cheers, THE MIGHTY REGIS
