From the director of the infamous Aftermath/Genesis Nacho Cerdá has a new movie coming out next year, from the awesome spanish company Filmax International.

An American film producer named Marie returns to her homeland, Russia, where her mother’s dead body has been found under bizarre circumstances. She never knew her, having been adopted and brought to America as a baby. The only clue to what might have happened is an isolated, abandoned farm in the mountains that supposedly belonged to her natural parents.

Being the only next of kin, she inherits the place, but no one will take her there as local superstitions state that the area is... DAMNED. Only one man will embark on such a long and dangerous journey... A stranger that oddly seems to know quite a bit about her history... But once they arrive, the guide mysteriously disappears, forcing Marie to explore the derelict location alone. It is in ruins, scarred with evidence of savage violence.

She discovers someone else on the property... A man named Boris, who claims to have been lured there in exactly the same manner, so that he could discover the truth behind his unknown past as well.

They become stranded in the immense compound, plagued by terrifying, ghostly visions… The problem is that the ghosts that wander around are THEIR OWN. Dead replicas of themselves marauder between the buildings in the night…

Time begins to move in reverse as history re-lives itself in front of their very eyes. While both their ghosts, illustrating exactly how they will die, patiently await their living counterparts to expire.

Can they escape their destinies? Or kill their own ghosts?

A cycle of horror comes to fruition, as they discover the reason they have been summoned for this perverse reunion…

And the brutal secret behind their bloodline.

GONE BAD

In episode 1 a lonely priest is besieged by the living dead as he holes up in his church while the village is left rotting. In episode 2 a old fisherman catches a little more then he was going for.

"Gone Bad, which has been described as a truly stunning work of art, was one of the first computer animated Internet pieces to grab serious attention from audiences all over. Think Fargo meets Night of the Living Dead, Gone Bad is full of dark humor and bone-chilling sequences. It takes place in a small town infested with zombies and only a handful of people left alive. Gone Bad was written by Italian horror writer Niccolo Ammaniti and created by Bertoldo, a 3-D animator and director for Mondo Media. Episode One from the Gone Bad series was showcased at last year's Sundance Online Film Festival."

Swamp Zombies

A chief physician (Shannon Solo) at a large metropolitan hospital is formulating a serum to resurrect recently deceased "patients".When his facility comes under inspection from the federal government, the doctor is forced to dispose of the "patients" as quick as possible even though they are in mid-experiment and he doesn't know if his serum even will work. With the help of the evil hospital operations manager (Jasmin St Claire), he manages to ditch the experiments in the neighboring swamplands. Little do they know, their serum works, the experiments rise to "life" and wreck havoc on a group of students conducting science experiments at the swamplands. With the help of a swamp hermit (Brian "blue meanie" Heffron), a beautiful innocent bystander (Pamela "transformed" Sutch), a park ranger (leon south), and the police captain (dan "the beast" severn) they try to piece together what has gone on....as well as survive!

DEAD CENTRE

A film about architecture under the influence of zombies. It's part homage to the "ugly" carbuncles of urban Britain and part undead carnage. It's zombies and angled concrete; Clockwork Orange meets Dawn of the Dead.

Here are a few pics

David Cronenberg & Asia Argento set to appear in remake of Brian DePalma's Sisters. From early news Asia Argento as landed the dual role originaly played by the fantastic Margot Kidder and the films to be directed by Douglas "Cutting Moments".

If nothing else its great to hear Cronenbergs getting back to more horror genre films with the news hes also to Co-Produce werewolf film Skinwalkers, allways makes me take notice when news of new Cronenberg work comes along even if it turns out to be just a glorified cameo.

The Haunted World of El Superbeasto - Rob Zombie

The teaser site for Rob Zombie's animated comedy - El Superbeasto in now online. Right now, all they have going is a quick flash intro and the ability to register for updates

Here's what I was able to glean about the plot, from the flash intro:

"Somewhere in Monsterland.. a hero will rise against abstinence. Rob Zombie presents an animated comedy featuring sex, violence, robots and apes."

Sounds good to me. You can check out the teaser site for Rob Zombie's El Superbeasto here.http://www.elsuperbeasto.com/

Everyone has been wondering when Showtime will premiere its first episode of the series. With directors like John Landis, Tobe Hooper, Dario Argento, Takashi Miike, and Lucky McKee its no surprise people are on the edge of their seat. Well, the guuys over at Dread Central are reporting that the show will premiere on October 28th.

For those of us who don't have Showtime, no worries! Later next year Anchor Bay will be bringing the Masters to DVD for everyone to enjoy. So everybody get your Tivo set or your VCR ready because it will be here just in time for Halloween.
