Well it has been a while now since Cornerstone 2007 and I think it's time to blog about it. We seem to go every year not really knowing how many people will be staying with us. 2007 seemed to be, several months beforehand, the year that our group would decline in numbers. Much to my surprise it ended up being the biggest year yet and I would say the best year too. Not to say that we did not miss those of our group that couldn't make it this year because we missed them greatly but, I think others might back me up on this too, this year was amazing. There was constantly something going on at the campsite and always someone to talk to and fellowship with, which to me is the best part of Cornerstone. The friendships made this year and previous will most definately last a lifetime. Our group comes from all over the world and from every part of the country. From California to Maryland, Illinois to Texas, and everywhere in between with countries like New Zeland and South Africa represented too.

The campsite this year was huge and we could have taken up more space because we got a little crowded by the end of the week. We had 12 tents for sleeping, many of them were house-like too, 1 for food and drinks, 2 for showers, 1 that is 18 feet wide by 30 feet long for shade, and several others that were not even used. We also had parking for 10 - 15 vehicles and a trampoline. With 25 - 30 people that stayed in our site we also went through tons of drinks and food. Our group used 15 cases of 24 packs of water, nearly 30 cases of soda, 600 to 700 pounds of ice, 20 - 25 pounds of chicken, nearly 150 hotdogs (and we had more than 80 left over), 60 1/4 pound hamburgers, more than 50 eggs, plus all of the other snacks and chips and food that was available during the week. Needless to say, we have a lot of coolers. We also used 15 - 20 1 cylinders of propane and went through about 15 - 20 pounds of propane from a 30 tank and more than 15 gallons of gas. It was all worth it though because we had fun and that's what it's all about.

I had to replace the hard drive but it is all better now and I will be able to get back to the work at hand. We are working on a schedule maker for Cornerstone 2007 so keep an eye out for that. At this time there is a mere 61 days until Cornerstone. This is the time to make sure you have all the major items you will need for Cornerstone and make sure they are all in good condition. If you start checking now you will have time to fix anything that may need repairs and pick up what you don't have.
