Album film online!

The fact that the new musical direction of our third album Here And Now And Long Before did not quite come out of the blue, has already come up in various interviews. New ambition, JanPeter joining the band but most of all the health condition of Bart, who was admitted to hospital in critical condition due to a surfacing kidney problem at the end of 2006, has not missed it's impact on the songs. The story behind the record has inspired Jorn to do a documentary on the making of the album.

Everyone in the band recorded a voice-over with his take on the whole experience prior to the Dutch release of the album at the end of April this year. Jorn used this material together with the footage he shot during the whole writing and recording process to create a short and gripping film. The result might prove to provide the best context for our biggest musical leap so far:

BNN was so impressed that they stream the film on their site since today. We had a beautiful premiere in Teylers Museum in Haarlem in collaboration with Eric Corton's That's Live last Saturday and a great pre-gig viewing at Tivoli Utrecht on Sunday. You can watch Here And Now And Long Before thru all our sites and anyone can embed it in his own site or blog as of now...

First tourdates and new single

We'll be doing a lot of gigs from September on, the first confirmed shows are already in the tourlist. These venues might just turn out to be the ultimate environment for the new songs. The pre-sale has already taken a start at most clubs.
Since we enjoyed the intimate setting of the living room evenings so much earlier this year, we've decided to play more Live in Your Living Room gigs alongside the club shows. Dates will be announced in the following weeks.
The next single is also awaiting it's release. Tell Me, one of our more infectious popsongs on the album, will be out in September. As with the first single, Jorn is in charge of the video which we shot last weekend.
Also by Jorn is the short but personal and revealing film about the making Here And Now And Long Before, but more on that later...

Live in Your Living Room Tour

Apart from the summer festivals, we'll play a few different kind of gigs from the end of May as well. Practically unamplified shows in living rooms throughout the country where band an audience enjoy the songs almost face to face are scheduled from May 29. Something we've wanted for some time, now making more sense than ever with the new songs from 'Here And Now and Long Before'. Live in Your Living Room links hosts and their living rooms with bands and their audience. The following shows are scheduled:

The Dalai Lama and Night of Tibet

We are proud to announce that we've been added to the line-up of the Night of Tibet festival in the Melkweg Amsterdam on the fifth of June this year.

We'll play together with Bløf, Racoon and Aqua de Annique among various Tibetan artists. The festival will also feature lectures, poetry, documentary films and debates concerning the Tibetan case.

Absolute highlight will be the official opening of the evening by the Dalai Lama, who will be visiting the Netherlands 4 and 5 June!

The new album is out!

We are truly proud to announce that our third album, 'Here And Now And Long Before' is out! The first copies went over the counter after the beautiful release gig in the Melkweg last Thursday.

We have gone the distance making this record. Old habits have made way for new challenges and even after eight years together, life in the band has revealed itself in many new ways over the past year and a half. We have raised the stakes on every level during the making of the album which makes it's release more intense than ever for us as a band. And rewarding!

Artwork is by Robert Muda, the limited edition CD is available at your recordstore and webshop or as download through iTunes.

The record is out of our hands now, and into yours. Take your time and enjoy listening!

The new album and video online!

Over a year in the making, the third album takes it's first steps into the world today. You can listen to the whole of 'Here And Now And Long Before' online for the first time! Available on WWW.THESHEER.COM, LastFM, Hyves and later on VPRO's 3voor12 Luisterpaal.

We'll present the album live at the Melkweg Amsterdam this Thursday 16 April. We had a wonderful time with the try-outs, everybody that was there will have an idea where we're heading. This will also be the first possibility to get your copy of the special edition of the album before the official release Monday 20 April.

The video for 'The Devil On His Own' went online today as well:

It's the adventurous debut of Jorn as clipmaker. He wrote and directed the short with filmmaker Patrick Louwerse.

The tourdates have seen an update over the weekend with the first festivaldates and radioshows, some of which you can also attend like Club 3voor12, Thursday 23 April. Be quick to make your reservation for the guestlist in that case. We will also be playing a few instores after the presentation. Keep an eye on the Tourdates for that matter!

Rescheduled gigs

Due to a persisting throat infection of singer Bart we were already forced to reschedule last week's Rotown try-out. We're sorry to announce that the upcoming 013 try-out this Thursday March 26 waits the same fate. The gig is now scheduled for Friday 3rd of April.

Already purchased tickets are valid on the new date. If you can't make they can be returned to your original sales point. If you we're about to attend one of these gigs, we hope for your understanding and that you can make it on the new dates!
