Columbus Ohio's The Sun have spent the last few years fighting off the
oppressive regime that is a major label; however, having finally
escaped with their sanities intact, the band is back in the studio
with a new lease on life. Determined to create an album on their own
terms, the band spent the first half of 2007 at home writing and
rehearsing new material. In June, The Sun were approached by
acclaimed producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Trail of Dead…), and began
recording the band's second full length LP at McCarthy's studio in
Austin.

While the album reaches completion, The Sun have released "Ohio
Tigers" and "1999," a series of b-sides and rarities from the past few
years, they also released a deluxe edition of their Warner Brothers
record "Blame It on The Youth" with six new and acoustic tracks. This
huge collection of songs should provide some relief for Sun fans
awaiting their sophomore LP.

The Sun have toured with a long list of great artists including The
Flaming Lips and Hot Hot Heat, and are gearing up for an extensive tour
once the album is ready for release.
