What is Stephan's duct tape vest, and why is it his best? Seriously,
what is that lyric all about?....
--Ever been really poor and you have one of those down vests that
you wear at night and it's ripped and so you fix it with duct tape and that's
all you have so that's what you wear to someone's bonfire kegger? Well
Stephan has. He also used to duct tape his jeans. Let’s hear it for
the poor kids who won't back down!....
Just saw the footage from Crash Mansion, please, please tell me that
we will be able to purchase/download the whole show. The guys were so great,
the songs sounded amazing, and I really want to add it to my 3eb collection.....
--It will definitely be available soon in 5.1 and there will
be a little movie of it. I’ll let you know when and where soon. On
another note, I’d like to add you to my collection!....
Demos seem to be a hot commodity around here or late, have the guys
ever thought about releasing some old and new through 3eb.com. Fans go crazy
over them, and it would be a great opportunity for the boys to get more music
out and make their fans so very happy.....

Can you tell us anything about Tony's upcoming solo
records? We are all super excited to hear more from

--He plays beyond the realm and soon will take you there. Magic
8 ball says tony will take you into days you never knew. He is a wee bit
busy with his band Third Eye Blind currently though. Bear with him and he
won't Doug out on you.....
Will Abe manage any of the bass duties for Minor?....
--Yes he will. That kid is evil and fine and brings a fat bottom
fury to the ursa sky. Everyone in the band really likes him and he is
just a crushing bass player. He is pure rock and roll all night long and
if you ever get a chance to smell him, do not miss it! ....
Can the live cd have a good version of Darkness done live? that song
never gets any talk but its the shit. Another Life done with the couches and
chillin would be really cool too but Darkness is more important.....
--Another Life yes. Not sure if Darkness is going to on the
live album, but Darkness really does bring out the suburban burnout stoner kid
in all of us doesn't it.....

If Stephan had any humility and appreciation he would thank either
Adam (the creator of) or The Village Church Yard (TVCY) Website as a whole on
the packaging for Ursa Minor. For all these years it's the LEAST they could do,
don't you think?....

community into a new era. All TVCY'ers are beloved and will be thanked.
What is it that makes you feel unappreciated my gentle one?
TVCY is the most amazingly deep and dedicated fan site in the history of
the genre and everyone knows it. Arcana promises to try and make Stephan humble as a big eyed
bunny stat. ....
What's the deal with Indaba? Are there going to be any more stems?
When will this happen? I love Ursa Major and the way it is recorded and mixed,
but I also want a chance to remix. Any chance of the stems for the album being
made available? Maybe as a 3eb.com exclusive?....

Any chance of getting the stems for old songs? I know Stephan hates
the way blinded was produced/ it would be cool to hear new takes on old songs.
What's left of Elektra probably owns these things, but I don't see a problem if
you give them out for free/ these stupid useless points.....
--No, Blinded won't go out as stems because the band doesn't have
control of those masters--doesn't that sound important and technical?....

I was wondering, are the dates up for sept/oct. going to be the jist
of the fall tour? or will there eventually be more dates/cities added?!....
--There will be more cities added, but just a few for the fall.
Many of the dates 3eb will play are at closed campus shows that don't
allow us to list it on the site or anywhere else for that matter. Booooo
closed campus! I say let the people go to it!....

Here's something fun and exciting though. 3eb is going to play
the UK and many other places in Europe in March. Fucking too right mate!
Now stay tuned for the whole thing to get confirmed, but here's what
Arcana is thinking . . . We charter a mid sized shipping container send
ourselves over the pond (or find cheap flights), stay in a youth hostel,
absolutely reveal in the streets of London and go to a big rock show where someone
just happens to have some of that American style super bud that makes contact
with the Brits and then we can watch them go all bonky.....

They'll play a 2k place and perhaps Adam can host a TVCY/Assembly
super party. We could all stay in a youth hostel (of course, I could
not because you would recognize me and then I wouldn't have the
courage to say the things I do here but you know what I mean. ha!)....

Why all the college shows? I get the idea of wanting to
recruit new fans in order to build your fan base, but why exclude those of us
who have been around for years and actually have kept this band alive? I think
it's a true slap in the face to tell us to love them from afar...What gives?....
--It's terrible that you feel that way! We need to turn your
slap in the face to a spank on the ass! Hmmm, how to do it? I'm shaking
my 8 ball, and while I do, I would like to say that 3eb plays colleges because
they are invited to play colleges. They would like them all to be open
to everyone who wants to come, but it's not up to them. ....

Everyone of the kids in the band knows who's kept them alive and in
no way wants to exclude any one (cept bigots, homophobes, mean people of
whatever sort, dudes who weigh way too much to crowd surf who then do anyway,
etc) in-fact, the ethos I hear kicking around is all about inclusion.
So make a road trip and come to a show my long time fan friend. We
are your people. This is where you belong and I promise you, if you can
find me, I will personally spank your ass and put a smile on your face.

Sharp Knife is one of my favorite songs off the new album, I can't
stop listening to it. Jenkins made some pretty powerful statements concerning
this song. I wanted to get your take and feel on the track.....
--My take? I like it when Stephan says "to cut!"
I think it sounds all dark and deep and then I feel all dreamy in the
"disappearing" part and then it just unloads on me and rocks my (that
is metaphorically since I don't have any) balls! It makes me feel right.
It makes me want to mosh with star fucker. it makes me air guitar
in my room with my legs spread deep in a rock stance. i better stop now.....

--Not yet. I now they've sent them in, and I've heard talk.
There will be a news item about it soon. The wait will give you
time to figure out what you are going to wear while you play 3eb on rock band.

"What Brand of Boots is Mr.Jenkins and Hardgreaves wearing in
the Ursa Major photo shoot"?. In particular the picture where our very own
lead singer is sitting on the couch under the painting of the queen. For our
very own drummer, what boots is he wearing in the photo wearing he is looking
out off the balcony holding the camera in his hands... If you want to list the
rest of the boots that would be cool too.....

are these one of a kind hand made things that cost an absolute fortune. They
were by a group called carpe diem and that group no longer exists.

I need to know this. In Sharp Knife, after Stephan sings: "I
wish I was a sharp knife, a sharp knife to cut..." what is the word he
says right after to cut? It sounds like unsheath, but I would love to know for

How do you think the Chelsea Lately Interview went? In my opinion I
thought it went well, however some comments on the blog have made me start to
re-think, thus the reason I am hitting you up. People think hes just out there
for himself and not 3eb. Take a look at the actual interview on my members page

Why the hell is there so much secrecy around what the band is doing?
What is so hard about saying "hey the band is in the studio, they are
working a new song called 'Debris Skittles' for Minor?.. Or how about legit
plans about Minor? What is so bad about the band rewarding fans who care, to
let them know what's up? We don't need super duper videos that take 6 weeks of
editing to see on here. Film something that you do in the studio for Minor on
Tuesday afternoon.. and load it onto the site later that day. Actually put us
inside there with you guys. The time is now to take advantage of this site that
you guys spent so much time on. Use all of its resources......
--Ok you're right. They will. The band is going to
record a song for Ursa Minor in Nashville early next month and they are going
to film it and put it up. They are also going to put up videos from the
new tour as well. Now Arcana has given you what you asked for

In the live version of "Why Can't You Be" The one on Red
Star EP Stephan tells the story behind the song and he say's something like,
"I know you're following me, but I'm drunk" Does he mean at the time
of the story he was drunk or while he was playing the song live he's drunk?....
--He was shonkered that night at the backyard party when he played
it. Ha. He doesn't usually write of perform with any
booze so it was unusual to say the least since Stephan is one of those red wine
at the after party types.....

You say when they wrote the credits for Carnival Barker, they
thought it was going to be the full length version, hence Stephan's name on it.
Fair enough... but right there on the album credits is the parenthetical
"(Instrumental) ". It looks like they had time to add that, but not
enough time to remove Stephan's name? Seems a little fishy to me. Are you
sure it wasn't just that Stephan couldn't bear (ha, get it Bear!) to have a
song on that album without a "Stephan Jenkins" under it?....
--Hahahahaha. Oh you kill me with the bear jokes! And
you have prompted me to learn a little something about how song writing works.
The music for Carnival Barker was written by our beloved Tony in a fabulous
jam sesh with the band. The song was arranged by sj who tends to do
that kind of thing --arranging means putting all the different parts together.
Stephan also wrote the melodies and the lyrics that he keeps changing so
the music and lyrics are now wed together. If you see just the lyrics
printed somewhere it will still say its by the both of them. Get it?
if that doesn't work for you, perhaps you could consider that what you
see depends mostly on what you are looking for my friend.....
Tell SJ to put the stems of summer town on indaba. it would solve a
lot of problems : )....

When stephan was doing the absolutepunk.net interview he made this
comment in response to his opinion about the progression of the 4 TEB albums.
"i don't know. i find moments that stand out as being more genuine on some
places than others. i do believe that our next album will be our best, i truly
believe that." is he referring to Ursa Minor or an album after
Minor?....
--He is refereeing to Ursa Minor as he always believes
best days and best work lay ahead. He's one of those bright shiny
positivity types which is quite the contrast for someone who writes. Such
dark gothy lyrics. I love candles in the graveyard!....
