I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone that helped with the kitten fund.

We could still use a bit more, but have raised enough to get the first round of shots for the kittens and get started with spaying and neutering in the next few weeks.  They're headed to the vet today for shots, and we have found homes for all of them!

The kittens send thankful meows to Heather, Todd, Mika and Sean, Danny, Sansanee, Vladimir, Mali, Jeff, Lori, Tessa, Leah, Jenica, Brandon, Janel, Ashley, Romie, Scott, Andrea, Naomi, Erin, Jason, the other Andrea, and Barbara.

Here is a brief video taken while Harry from Wax n' Facts was chiseling out the brick that led to their freedom : Kitties [Mov/772 K]

If you can contribute, paypal donations are still being accepted, or you can donate to me in person or at Wax n' Facts.  The original post is still in my blog section.

Category: Pets and Animals
Hey folks.  I don't normally do this, but here goes.

Last Sunday Victoria called me up and asked me to come to Wax N' Facts, the record store where she works.  I headed up there and we determined that we heard a kitten mewing.  After looking through a crevice between two bricks I saw the light of one tiny little kitty eye reflected back at me.  The kitty was stuck between the bricked up crevice between two buildings, Wax N' Facts, and the Vortex.  Somebody must have spent some effort to throw them over the wall, as there was no sign of mother or any den back there.  :(

We pulled a ladder out of the store, and looked down from far above, where the bricks ended, and saw that there were in fact five kittens mewing, and not just the one.  Once they saw us looking down, they started trying to climb the bricks!   We had the owners come in, and after a half hour of chiseling the brick out of the wall, one kitten sheepishly walked out, followed by a little KittenParade of brothers and sisters.

The kittens were taken to the vet and determined to be around 4 weeks old, and they're still being bottle-fed right now though will shortly be weened.  They'll be ready for their shots and deworming in a few weeks, and this is the part where I ask if you can help.  We have enough interest in homes -- I myself will be taking one -- but if any of you could help with donations so that we can get them their shots, fixed when old enough, and deworming, we'd really appreciate it as vets don't come cheap.

Any amount you can help out with, even if it's just a dollar, would be extremely welcome!  Anything and everything will help these adorable kittens.

Thanks so much,
Andreas
