Last night, they announced which of the six shortlisted writers had won.

And I was stunned to find it was me.

The winning story 'John and John' should be posted on the MMU website in the next few days. I'll link to it.

A friend of mine tells me that the cover makes a brief cameo towards the start of Mike Leigh's new film, Happy-Go-Lucky. The scene is with the main character, and takes place in a bookshop.

Hello,

especially if you've been pursuing hares through my website, as a follow-up to the Slice story.

I'm impressed by what you've come up with so far.

A couple of things. Not Anne Frank, though that's a nice coincidence. More obvious than that.

Doesn't anyone have a Box of Fruit? It might help with naming.

The hare in one place becomes another hare in another place. Spooky.

And, as for Slice herself, Lisa/Alis, I'll have to metamorphose her, too.
