it's been a while. sorry. life has been busy.... our tour earlier in the year was really great fun. it became a "swim the beaches of australia" tour. much more fun than touring in winter. thanks to all our audiences for their enthusiasm. can't wait to do it again... live earth was incredible, a momentous occasion. after struggling to hear ourselves on stage we ended up loving our time up there. but sitting amongst the thousands of people & becoming part of the crowd with purpose was the most overwhelming part. i've never loved being part of a mexican wave so so so much. singing & swaying with crowded house made my day. i felt 15 again. the atmosphere was amazing. dave & i thank those who have sent their best wishes for our pregnancy. very kind & thoughtful. till next time...thanks for listening. cheers, toni

Fans & critics alike were raving following the sell-out national tour by Toni Collette & The Finish earlier this year. With her strong, emotive voice and charming on stage demeanour, Toni & her brilliant band wowed the crowds, having 'had an absolute ball' in the process. The fan base was further extended courtesy of a 'Max Session' live concert recorded at the Sydney Opera House, which has been repeatedly screened on Foxtel due to popular demand. All this activity has attracted global attention & Toni Collette & the Finish are thrilled to have been asked to appear on the Australian leg of the 'Live Earth' concert on July 7, 2007. They will deliver a selection of their well-crafted, heady & soul-stirring music to the 50,000 present at Aussie Stadium, and won't even begin to contemplate the thought of a potential 2 billion global audience!! A special concert deserves something special and to that end, Augie March guitarist Glenn Richards (who played on the album and the band's first shows) will return for this mammoth concert spectacular. Glenn has promised to bring along his recent APRA Awards for 'Song of the Year' ('One Crowded Hour') & 'Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year' and sit them side of stage. Regular touring guitarist, Peter Fenton, who has delivered some glorious solo music & fronted the band 'Crow', will also be making his presence felt. Toni and the two guitar Gods will be joined by David Galafassi (drums), Pete Farley (bass), David Lane (piano) and Amanda Brown on everything else. But one show just didn't seem enough for this awesome group of musicians, and so they've decided to undertake another at Sydney's Gaelic Club on Thursday July 5. The sold-out Gaelic gig was one of the band's favourites on their last tour and so expectation is high. Support acts will be the wonderous Dave Rennick (from Dappled Cities Fly) in acoustic mode & another very special guest. Tickets will sell out fast so get in early THURSDAY JULY 5 - THE GAELIC CLUB, SYDNEY Tickets available from Moshtix www.moshtix.com.au or 02 9209 4614 & Ticketek - phonecharge 132 849 or www.ticketek.com.au

SYDNEY [Tuesday, 8 May 2007] -- Organisers today announced details of the Australian curtain-raising show for the 7-continent, 24-hour Live Earth concerts to be held on 7/7/07. The Australian concert will be staged at Aussie Stadium in Sydney.
The global concert on July 7 will begin in Sydney and continue across all 7 continents, concluding with a show in the US.
Speaking via a video link-up at the event's official launch at Aussie Stadium today, Live Earth Partner Al Gore said: "The climate crisis is a global problem that requires a global response. That's exactly what Live Earth is. On 7/7/07, Live Earth will touch over 2 billion people with 24 hours of live music across 7 continents and an urgent, hopeful message to trigger a worldwide movement to combat the climate crisis. This movement begins here at Aussie Stadium."
Live on stage at the Sydney show will be:
CROWDED HOUSE TONI COLLETTE & THE FINISH JACK JOHNSON WOLFMOTHER JOHN BUTLER TRIO MISSY HIGGINS ESKIMO JOE SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM PAUL KELLY GHOSTWRITERS BLUE KING BROWN
Live Earth is a monumental music event that will bring together more than 2 billion people to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth's 24 hours of music across 7 continents will deliver a call to action and the solutions needed to answer the call. Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign led by The Alliance for Climate Protection to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action. Whilst this event is about raising awareness, not money, all net proceeds will go to The Alliance for Climate Protection, other international non-Government organisations (NGOs), Australian NGOs and projects on the ground in Australia yet to be announced.

sorry folks....am way behind on bloody blogging. things have been a wee bit nutty. but i'll fill you in bit by bit. the next show we played was at the peninsula lounge in mornington peninsula. the people who run this place are really lovely. we managed to squeeze in some wine tasting (for those who don't know...this area is home to some of the best pinot noirs in the country-yum). we were subsequently late for sound check. sorry m & m... there's this great balcony off the bandroom & we all oohed & aahed over the sunset. we had new buffalo supporting us. she is brilliant & i'm a huge fan of their new album. sweet sweet music... the crowd was great. it's very intimate & relaxed. it was one of my fave shows. thanks to all in attendance. cheers, toni

What an honour to play in Gough's room. This is an amazing space with even better sound. Thank you to all who came along to this show. It was a great crowd, really enthusiastic. Twas nice to see my old mate Lou. Thanks to those who had to forego mardi gras to attend. That's a big ask. Much appreciated. Such a balmy drive back into town where we got caught in the afterglow of the parade. Some interesting sights. Glad to be out & about to catch it.... cheers, toni

Talk about HOT!!! Sexy, steamy, sauna-like conditions made this show what it was. Quite simply...we went off! The thai-like humidity limbered everything up. This was a great show. I did everything but stage dive, which i did consider! Thanks to EVERYONE who came to this show. We really really really enjoyed playing for you. And for ourselves. cheers! toni ps...happy birthday Chris!

Thanks to everyone who came to or first show of the tour....it was a late addition & we were very pleased to see so many people there. There were a few nerves having not played a live show for a few months, especially for Peter Fenton (who is standing in for Glenn on this tour). He's doing a stellar job & is good fun to jump up & down with on stage. Thanks to Mr Ian Hale & his wife for coming along. Ian is my old art teacher from high school & one of the few people who encouraged me to follow my heart when i was considering leaving school to follow what seemed to be a ridiculous dream. i finally got to thank him. I wish i'd had a place like Gasworks to go & see bands play when i was growing up out that way.....although the name itself does hold connotations of bodily functions....
