I saw the new Bond film yesterday at midnight in Leicester Square for the princely sum of £12.50, plus Haagen-Dazs. I don't mean to mindlessly repeat current reviews, but it was refreshingly good, considering the crappiness of the last two films. I won't go into detail here, but I shall add that Eva Green is incredibly hot. Go see it.

I was going to write that in French to make it uber-witty and funny, but I couldn't remember how.
Also I just set up a YouTube account. No vids yet.
Oh and I'm currently listening to Sorted for E's and Wizz by Pulp, since this FUCKING thing doesn't work.

The title of the next Batman film has been announced as The Dark Knight, and as such is the first Batman film not to feature the word 'Batman' in the title. A rather vague plot has also been sketched out on IMDB but I shan't recount it here for those of you who would rather not know or simply don't care. In related news, I also did not realise Alfred's second name was Pennyworth.

I don't want to start mass hysteria - she might have just put on a little weight - but watching her on Rip Curl Boardmasters 2006 I have the sneaking suspicion that she's been knocked up. If so, I'm very disappointed in whoever she has chosen to perform said act.

Anecdote of the Day: I was taking the dog for a walk and there was a kid on a trike pushing it uphill. The kid saw me and as I was passing he was like, "Nice dog," and I was like, "Nice trike," and then he was like, "Thanks."

So, I have just completed my second week of measured walking and I have comprehensively failed to meet my target of increasing my daily average step count by 2000. Instead, my average has reduced by 1000, and in fact the only day I managed to reach my target was yesterday, and only after I spent quarter of an hour pacing. Sad I know.

After this weekend's shenanigans, I have decided unequivocally that I completely and utterly despise public transport. The last time I travelled to Nottingham was via the medium of train, and I was thoroughly annoyed by all aspects of that particular travelling experience, especially the delay which meant I arrived two hours later than anticipated.
Therefore this time I decided to travel by bus. The projected travel time was about the same, the stations at both ends were just as easy/hard to get to, it also involved only one change, and it was slightly cheaper. In hindsight, I realise that both methods of transport are equally crap, owing to the fact that the general public are allowed to use them unrestricted. The general public was the reason why my first bus was late, as some shit took it upon himself to cause enough of a problem that the police had to be called, thus making the bus an hour late upon arrival at Bristol where I joined it. The bus driver (who was also a bit of a dick) promised we would make our connections in Birmingham, but this turned out to be a complete lie, and I spent almost three hours waiting for my connection in the Worst Bus Station in the World, even by Eastern European standards. And so it transpired that I was also thoroughly annoyed by all aspects of that particular travelling experience, especially the delay which meant I arrived two hours later than anticipated.

Since myspace refuses to accept the existence of this movie in its "currently watching" section, I feel honour-bound to write a blog about it to prove that it does. The film, Kaze no tani no Naushika (or Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds), was released by Studio Ghibli (which to me sounds Indian when in fact it is Japanese), the animation company responsible for Howl's Moving Castle (which I haven't seen) and Spirited Away (which I thought was self-indulgent wank).
Given my reaction to other offerings by Miyazaki, I was surprised when this turned out to be quite a good film, even if its message is a crudely simple warning against reliance on Technology whilst ignoring Spiritualism and traditional ways. The version I saw was unfortunately dubbed into English rather than the original Japanese, but this was done very well, with the voice talent of such legends as Patrick Stewart, Mark Hamill (OMG!) and Uma Thurman. While the soundtrack is a bit twee at points, there are some beautifully haunting pieces that recur throughout. These might be specific to the English version, though I'd have to watch the original to be sure.
Anyhow I shan't go into the plot in detail; suffice to say the film is set in a post-apocalyptic earth where warring factions vie for what little there is left to fight for. Go watch it for yourself, you might just like it. And if you don't, I don't want to hear it.

I was watching the Newcastle UEFA match today on five, and despite the fact that they have Colin Murray presenting (and only one guest for him to talk to at half-time), the coverage is exactly 10 million times better than ITV's. Further proof (as if you needed any after the utter turd which is Prehistoric Park) that ITV should be blasted into Space as a warning to any intelligent life out there: don't bother coming here.
