You thought that it already happened! That it was safe to go outdoors! You thought that you had heard it all, how you needed to repent, get attunements, or move to a remote location!

HA!

That was just the preliminaries! The people who used to walk around with sandwich boards saying "The World is Coming to An END" are back!!! Now they just use movies to scare the crap out of you. There are also going to be a few shows on TV that show how the world will end. Hopefully the scientists on the shows will convince people not to run and live in a cave.

Please do not panic. If you aren't doing the right things in life, you should be a worried, but not from the sun blowing up or volcanoes errupting...but from Universal Law.

Things will shift and change. The poles may even shift, but guess what....they have already done so, approximately 30 times before! It will make your compass not work properly, but end the world, no. There will be sunspots, sure will. They happen every so many years, you have lived through several sunspot erruptions if you are over 30 years old. That will mess up satellite TV and cell phones, radios too, but the end of the world, no. I am sure the technology is already in place to work when sunspots occur, as they are nothing new.

I worry how many people will jump off of buildings, thinking that life will be a constant suspense movie. That they will have to battle tidal waves, lava flows, mass destruction and nuclear devastation.

People are already afraid of 2012. Many people will take these movies to heart. The reason is because of people who went crawling into the Mayan world and came out with a 2012 story that even the Mayans didn't know existed...because it didn't. (Another "thanks" to Alberto Villoldo).

If the whole thing makes people act a little better, and walk the right path...cool, but I think it will make some jump off bridges, it happened in the 60's (which was one of the ends of the world, sorry you missed it!), and it will happen again. We have so much more realistic technology today to make people believe.

I have at least one client a day, call me asking if the world will end, because the Mayans said so (no they didn't). The Mayan's world pretty much ended a long time ago, and ours will not end in 2012. There will be changes, good changes, and no, you do not have to do anything but be a person who does the right things for the right reasons.

I think it is funny that people worry about the Mayans saying that the world will end in 2012, when the Mayan civilization basically already ended hundreds of years ago. Maybe they did the math wrong....

That simple

Don't waste the $7.00,or lose any sleep.

Have a great weekend!

Sorry I am late! I had to drop off my car for some work, and then I was on call after call after call..YAHOOOOOO (helps pay for the car).

Here is a thought to the transition process. Sometimes you have to put others first in this process, and sometimes you do not. When the people around you are ones that ill treat you, they need to be left behind, and left behind NOW. They are anchors that keep us from moving to where the Universe is pushing us. The pushes will get stronger and harder. The results from that will be negative and unpleasent not only for you, but for the person that you are attached to. When people are doing the wrong things, for the wrong reasons, the Universe is trying to straighten all that out. It will not allow you to interfere and take lessons away from a person who needs them, their lessons will still come, and you will get them too! It just makes a bigger mess of your life.

Letting go is a HUGE part of this transition process. It isn't easy, but as they say, some folks belong in the balcony, not your front row. When there are people no longer in our lives, there is a reason for that. Just because we do not easily see it, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. We cannot "SAVE" people , nor are we supposed to . Some people confuse "helping" people with ENABLING people. When someone is on the wrong path and you help them along it, or even allow them to walk it, you are NOT helping.

There are times when I wrote blogs and I know they are channeled, it isn't old age when someone asks what the blog was about today or what I mean by "________", and I cna't remember right away, the channeled ones are written faster, clearer, and they just FLOW out of my fingers. There are also days when I KNOW what I am supposed to write about even though it isn't from something that just happened. Many readings happen like that too, it is nice tolet someone else do the work...GRIN

There is one of you out there is a highly toxic situation/relationship, I can make gueses, but I do not know for sure, I just know that there is a STRONG message to RUN LIKE THE WIND. So if you are in a situation that you feel has big issues, and the issues are getting bigger, it is time to prepare the exit plan. Someone has some serious consequences coming. Maybe I don't know who you are, just so everyone who is in a toxic situation will think it is YOU and retreat....the Universe works like that alot. Kill two birds....

You know what is healthy, and what isn't. If you are in an unhealthy situation. PLEASE start the process of moving on. Do not worry about what the other person will do to survive, the Universe will hand them exactly what they need (even if it is a harsh lesson in reality). It is not up to you to decide to divert their life lessons, and it isn't worth taking on the huge hit the Universe will deal out to both of you.

The transitions mean leaving people, jobs, homes, friends, partners, situations, behind and picking up new ones. Many have already picked up the new ones , up to 2 or 3 years ago. If you are still struggling, there is no need to. The transition itself won't necessarily be fun, but the after effects of it will be wonderful.

Move up and on

DO the right things for the right reasons!

Namaste,
Gina

The other day I watched a TV show, and a friend and I were discussing it yesterday. We were talking about how to find a partner. She wasn't keen on using web sites (and I am GLAD to hear that!).  The TV show was about a man who started a website just for people who want to cheat. They are already in established relationships and want other partners without their original partner finding out.

Apparently over 70% of people on sites like "Match.com" are married or living with someone! Can you imagine the odds of finding one that really is single...oh and that 70% who are saying they are single, does not include the ones that DO put their status as married and are at least up front about it. So how many people does that leave??

I won't even get into the statistics on how UNsuccessful relationships are when you are already attached, and your partner also is, when you get into a relationship. It ends, fairly quickly. All the time.

The sites like to tout that they have a huge success rate, what they don't tell you is that the matches usually last days , and the average for "long term" is 3-9 months. They say that "so and so was married" , but they don't tell you that the divorce rate on sites like thiers is higher than the already astronomical national average.

There are tons of reasons for this. First of all , it is easy to lie on these sites. You can make yourself up to be whomever you want to. Most people are on those sites for a reason. It may be that no one in their town will have anything to do with them; they are married or in a relationship already; they have a criminal background; they are con men; they are desperate; they have mental and emotional issues. Some just love the romance or attention. Many of my clients tell of getting 10 calls a day from a guy, then he stops. Of course he did! How the heck can he get anything done calling you ten times a day!?  You think that is healthy? You think that is romance? THAT is desperation.

I have already written how you cannot have a good realtionship til you love yourself. Now this doesn't mean be egotistical, it means be secure in who you are. If you think you are a bad person, unattractive, or hate life, then you do not belong in a relationship. You also need to be ready in a practical sense. Make sure that your finances are in order, a parter is not a tool for bailing you out of financial burden , even by sharing the rent. When you have children, don't be looking for a "mother/father" for the children, you need to be all that (and so does the original partner/parent). A person is not coming into your life to be your babysitter. In other words, you need to have your act together, and be able to independently make it on your own. There should be not "purpose" in finding a partner , other than to have someone to share your life with.

If you need someone to "complete you", you need a therapist, only YOU can complete you. If you are lonely, get a dog or a cat, the VHS will love you. Need financial support? Get another job (or a first one). These are not reasons for getting into a relationship, NOR for staying in one. Need more sex? Sex is THE easiest thing to find in this world, the love that goes with it, much harder. I suppose if you just want sex partners, the online sites would work well for you...but you still need to be careful there! One lady said she slept with 150 men in a 6 month period, and had more than one partner on some days. So when you have sex with her, you have sex with 150 other guys...YUCK.

When you cannot be happy with your own company, why would anyone else?  Make sure that you are ready (bills paid, healthy, no ties to past relationships, working, not looking for someone to raise your kids or complete you). Make sure that you are looking for someone to share your time, love and attention with. They don't have to have all the same likes and dislikes, but there does need to be some things in common, and the most important ones are how you live. If you want to live in the city, and they want to live in the country, you may have a problem. When you are a neat , clean person, and the other is a slob, you WILL have a problem.

When people go on to these dating sites, they forget all the stuff they need to know. They reach desperation point and date people that they would never have even looked at in the past. They date, break up, and so it goes.

So how do you find a mate?

Stop looking.

Yup, that is how you find the perfect mate. Just go about your business. Go to do things that you like to do. Don't be desperate, this isn't a race, there is no time limit. Become that whole , healthy person if you are not there yet. Get the bills paid, the kids under control, and create a life for yourself. Don't have a hobby or group you belong to? Join one, join several!

The dating sites are just modern bars. How many , long term matches are made in bars?

Let the Universe send the right person to you, and let them send it when you really are ready (many THINK they are ready and are not).

When you get a little weak and want to go on those sites, just remember that 70% of those who say they are looking for someone, are already in a relationship. When they get tired of you, the same thing will happen, you will see your lover on an online dating site....after you cosigned for his car, and paid for his back child support, not to mention you may be sleeping with 150 other people.

I am sure there are success stories out there, but from what the research shows, it is about 1% that end up in happy, long term relationships. You have a better shot just going to a class that interests you and meeting new people there. Maybe your partner isn't there, but maybe their friend, sister, mother...is!

Take your time, be ready, find quality.
...and don't read those "SOULMATE" books..

Make a happy life, and that energy will attract a happy person to you. It is like waiting to catch the big one, some days it takes hours, and sometimes it takes years!

Patience, the constant life lesson.

Namaste!

I saw this on my calendar today and thought that I would remind everyone to "Pay it forward". Just the other day I mentioned that if you do anything for praise, money, or to call in favors, then you are going about things in the wrong way. We should do things expecting nothing in return. Doing this creates an atmosphere of giving, abundance, and positive energy. Expecting back, creates an atmosphere of indebtedness, expectation, disappointment and ill will.

When we can do a favor and expect nothing in return, then that is good. When we can "pay it forward" ,that is even better. When someone says "thanks, what can I do for you in return"?, say "Pay it forward". When they don't ask, don't say anything!

Paying it forward, means that if someone did something nice for you, do something nice for someone else. Doing for a stranger is even better. It can be as simple as holding a door for someone with their hands full, to donating to charity (without crowing about it).

If you really want to see it in action, rent the movie of the same name starring Kevin Spacy. It is a tragic story that will make you cry, but it will show you the wonders that the "pay it forward" action can do when people are on the right path. It is about a child who took "Pay it forward" to the "N th degree", and is based on a true story.  For those of you who have not seen the movie, I won't ruin it, but get the hankies ready.....

No action should ever be done with the hope, desire, need, for that action to be reciprocated. Ever, at all. You should do every act out of the kindness of your heart. Not for recognition, repayment, or love. Not for getting clients, increasing business, or making friends. No expectations should exist. If you are on the receiving end, pay it forward.

It is actually fun to pay it forward, and the best part is, no one will ever know you are doing it!

It attracts positive energy and abundance to you.

Seriously!

Pay it forward!

Two lawsuits have been filed over the death of one woman and the harming of another, in the Arizona sweat lodge mess. There will be more I am sure, and I hope that all of the families harmed will sue! I usually don't like sue happy folks, but this is the only way to stop this man from continuing his practices.

The sweat lodge was a person trying to do what he had no idea how to do and no business doing! So many people think that they are "shamans" or "healers". The ones who get too big for their britches always end up getting a huge smack in the back of the head sooner or later. Some smacks are smaller because what they did did not harm as many, or as much.  However, in this case, I am sure this will be a huge wake up call.

What so many forget is that they themselves do not heal. It doesn't matter if you are doing Reiki, a sweat lodge, chanting, Healing Touch....You aren't healing anyone, helping anyone,  making anyone rich, or making anyone safe for 2012. Once you forget that , you are doomed to failure.

Creator, God, The Universe, Buddah, Allah, makes things change, not you. You simply put in a request. That is another part people forget, they put in a REQUEST. The answer is usually "yes", the magic is "when". There are ways of bringing things about faster, but when the Universe says, "this is not for your higest good", you WON'T get it. Even the Universe has fine print.

When you forget that, something like the sweat lodge deaths happen.

Ego always messes up a good thing. Ego should never enter into healing, giving, doing charity work, or helping people grow. When you crow about any of those things, your life will be directly and negatively affected. Every time. It may not be a direct link, for example, there may be a personal relationship issue stem from it, but you will have a huge growth lesson.

NEVER look for THANKS or favors returned. Even worse, if you do ANYTHING with the thought or intent that you will receive back in the future, you are doing the wrong thing, and things won't go well for you. Mike Dooley calls it "bad form", a nice polite way of saying, stop acting like a jerk.

Be careful what you do, make sure that you know what you are doing, lose the Ego, don't brag or announce good works, and remember that YOU aren't doing anything but holding the space!

There is no room in spirituality for Ego!

Namaste!

Tonight is the night when all kinds of pranksters are out on the prowl. They cause mischief with harmless pranks , and have a good old time playing tricks. The tricks part has become the day before Halloween, and the treats part, the day of.

It is a great time for a ghost story. There are so many, and if you want to scare yourself silly ,I can give you a couple Stephen King book titles that should do it. (After reading Salem's Lot, my aunt bought a cross and wore it to bed each night for about 7 months).

Funny how we get religion when things go bad!

Anyway, the first house I lived in , was cool. No problem. At the age of 9 we moved into a genuine haunted house. Seriously. I wouldn't wish that house on any child. I was well aware of being psychic at that time, and all kinds of things happened in that house.

There was the ghost cat that walked only UP the stairs.(My Mom and I searched for him 3 times before we realized he wasn't "real").

The creaking floorboards in the attic, and the attic door that would sound like it was opening, when it really wasn't.

There were huge crashing noises every night, as if a bus drove though the house.

My closet door next to my bed would open every night after my Mom turned out the lights. You could count to 10, and the latch would CLICK, and the door open.

People "sitting" on the bed, pulling the bedcovers, and knocking things down in the room, while you tried to sleep.

Something that would rev up the window AC and make it make all kinds of noises and such that it never made during the day. And that it really never could or should make in reality.

There were times when we crept downstairs, sure the house was broken into , to find nothing.

Voices calling my name (that was THE absolutely scariest part to me). Loud clear, and irthful.

Cats staring at things that were not there.

...and the man and the woman.

The man scared the crap out of me. He was pure evil. Malevolent. He sat in a chair at the foot of my bed most times. Even people who could not see him, sure could feel him. The woman was in the attic, under the eaves, scared to death. Her fear would scare me, but after a while I started to realize that she was more afraid than I was.

I told my Mom, and she asked some neighbors about the history of the house. Apparently there was a man who built the house himself (we believe it because every window was a different size, my Mom HATED curtain shopping!). He was a nasty drunk, and he owned a bar downtown (this is in NJ). He beat his wife frequently, and one night he killed her at their bar.

She was still hiding from him in the attic, and he was still angry and afraid to cross.I am sure he was at least a little crazy.

They were there for years, and I think the crashing sounds were him in his anger. The items downstairs never actually moved, just sounded like they did, but the ones upstairs did move. It would scare the crap out of you at 2 AM. Was it a burgler, earthquake , the cats ,or the ghost?? I will say that 99% of the time, it was the ghosts.

We had a friend who did not believe in ghosts. Once while I was on a camping trip with the girl scouts, she slept in my bed. I couldn't wait to get home and hear the news (there were no cell phones in those days, we had to wait for news!). She was terrified. She swore to never sleep in my bed again, and said someone sat on the bed. It took her weeks to be alone in any room in the house. The closet door however, didn't open for her.

My great aunt moved in for a while. I told her about all these things that I just told you. She told me "Stop trying to scare me, you little brat." (She was an angry woman at the time). I told her I was trying to KEEP her from being scared.....Imagine an 11 year old trying to convince an older relitive of ghosts.... She finally shouted, "There are no such things as ghosts!" That is when every picture (I think there were 3 or 4) on the wall in that room fell to the floor.

She sat wide eyed, and I said, "Don't make them mad!"

She stayed about 3 weeks.

I had no idea what to do or say to these beings at that time. There were no Ghost Hunters, no good books, and just a handful of talented folks who would admit to being psychic and having answers. A friend of my Mom's told her to tell me, that I just needed to tell them to stop. To be firm about it. They were attracted to me (my first time being ghost bait). One night, I left my Barbie dolls on the foor. I could hear the stuff all moving around. I knew what the sounds were. I ignored it (something we learned to do after a while). More noises entered in. The AC started its' climb up and down the rev scale. Now it was not only scary, but annoying, after all I was trying to sleep, and it was as if there were a party going on in the room.I remembered the words of the lady my Mom spoke to and shouted...That is enough! Stop it! Don't ever do it again!

Total silence.

Wow! What a feeling! After years of being afriad, I now had POWER. They weren't going to mess with me anymore!

The man was still there, but he quieted down some, the lady stayed in the attic. There must have been a bunch of other mischievious folks running around, playing with Barbies and such. They left, never to be heard from again. Thank goodness.

Things still happened, like furniture vibrating and such for YEARS. I lived there 17 years, and there was always something going on in that house. At first it was every night, after me opening my mouth and yelling at them, instead of cowering under the sheets, things went down to once every couple of weeks. They would show off for guests though, (the first time my ex husband ate there, the china cabinet did a little dance for him), but things quieted way down. I still have the china cabinet......

They never did totally stop. I often wonder if the new owners had any problems, he was a minister, so I guess he can cope with it!

Things were good for a while, until I moved into a spookier place in NM. But that is a story for another day!

Have a great Halloween weekend!!!

This is not a story of what happened to me. I have a million of those...But part of the Navajo belief system.

When I lived in New Mexico I was right on the edge of the Navajo Reservation. The Navajo have a facinating and beautiful belief system. I have to say "beautiful", because their goal in life is to live the traditional ways and "walk in beauty". They do not mean it in the sense of "looking pretty", but being a good person, and following the traditional ways.

Once I started venturing onto the reservation, I noticed a lot of empty homes (they are small, sometimes one room, but houses all the same). There are plenty of Navajo , over 298,000 living on a 17 million acre piece of land that is in parts of NM, UT, AZ. This is the largest area in the US that belongs to a Native American Nation.

The land is beautiful , and there are some pictures here on my Myspace photos (in the "some places I have lived album). Yet the area, even outside the reservation is dotted with these small abandoned shacks.

One does not ask the Navajo directly a question like"why do you have all these empty houses all around?". You talk long talks with Navajo , and almost dance up to the question (this is when talking to traditional Dine'). Once I began to learn more about the Navajo, I learned that they left those houses empty because they belonged to the ghost (chindi), of the deceaed. When someone dies, the body is removed quickly (and if it can be, by non family). The house is sealed, so the ghost is sealed inside. There is a fear of "ghost sickness" which can manifest itself in many ways.Ghost sickess is feared, and there are rituals to help rid someone of ghost disease.

When the Navajo see an owl, they believe it is the ghost of someone who "escaped" their home. The Navajo are very observant of cause and effect, so when someone dies, and then another falls ill, they associate the two. There is more to this of course and it makes interesting study.

So the Navajo do not save their ghosts for Halloween. They watch for them all of the time and associate them with Navajo witchcraft. Navajo witchcraft is NOTHING like what we think of as witchcraft (always be careful when interpreting Native American translations as many times the "closest word" was used, as we had no word or concept that really fits the NA belief!). The way you become a Navajo witch is by purposefully killing someone. Navajos do not kill each other, it is a huge part of their tradition. They are the beautiful people and it would be a great "sin" to kill one of the Creator's (Spider Grandmother) creations. On the rare occasion that this happens, the Navajo becomes a "wolf" or "witch". Again, there is much more to this, and is facinating to read , especially for Halloween. (you do not become a witch by killing someone in an accident). The Navajos really won't even speak of the dead, or witchcraft for that matter.

We conjure up witches, ghosts, and werewolves to scare ourselves on Halloween, yet they are part of the everyday Navajo belief system.

The Navajo are a wonderful group of people with a facinating belief system and way of life. They are well worth studying and getting to know. They are the largest Native American tribe in existance today. Their land surrounds the Hopi reservation, and is just a stone's throw from the Zuni. They are also about an hour from Laguna, Acoma, and other Pueblo tribes. Someday , if you want to study Native American ways, go to New Mexico, between Gallup (which is 95% Navajo), and Albuquerque. The people there are friendly are ready to share their legends, beliefs, and way of life with others.

Remember to be respectful. Ask nicely, do not take pictures, and share in what ever is offered to you.

I haven't made it to the Hopi Reservation yet, maybe next time.

There is so much to the Navajo beliefs on witches, wolves and ghosts, so go and explore!

Learn, grow and share!

First I want to clarify something. The NAFPS I mis-named in a blog. They are the New Age Fakes and Plastic Shamans. They are Native Americans , living and working, and doing good work in this country . They get information, check it out, and post it on their page. They also have forums with discussions of people on their list, so more information is passed. They are THE SOURCE, and are authentic, informed,  and REAL Native Americans, who not only do not want to see their culture disgraced, but who reach out into areas of any New Age genre.

*******************************************************

Halloween is coming and kids dress up as ghosts and a bevy of other characters, to go out to trick or treat. The custom is actually old, and died out for a while, and then came back to life (how appropriate!).

This day that many celebrate each year (there are more Halloween sales than Christmas sales, as far as decorations , party goods etc), is actually a Pagan Celtic celebration that is called Samhain (pronounced SOW win). The word means "summer's end", and it is appropriate , especially this year ,as we turn the clocks back the next day, Nov1. The church , in an effort to stop this Pagan celebration, positioned All Saints Day right after Halloween to give the Pagans another option of protecting themselves from the dead, evil, and bad luck. It worked for a while, but you can see that today, Halloween is a much bigger celebration than All Saints Day!

The Celts believed that Halloween night was the night when the division between the world of the living, and the world of the dead was at its' thinnest. Family members who were loved that had passed, were invited in, but the Celts knew that there were other things out there, that they needed to be kept OUT.

They used Jack o' Lanterns (which actually were originally turnips, not pumpkins), and bonfires at crossroads. They also used masks and disguises so that they would not be recognized by harmful spirits and be able to keep hidden from them.

Bonfires were at crossroads where there was always the danger of witches and demons , even NOT on Samhain. Every house built a bonfire to keep the evil away. Young men would jump through it, so the evil spirits could not follow them. Some households built two bonfires and walked themselves and their livestock through them to cleanse them.

The Jack O'Lanterns were pretty scary at that time, and that is just what they were supposed to do. Scare, the evil spirits away.

This Jack O'Lantern is from Ireland, and is on display at a museum there. It would scare me, that is for sure! The pumpkins didn't enter in , until the Irish and Scottish peoples came to North America where pumkins were plentiful in the fall (and probably easier to carve than a turnip!).

So, now you know why you wear a mask, why I have a bonfire (although I think the only evil spirits out back are the crazy cache of squirrels), and where the Jack O'Lantern came from. The costumes grew from the masks, and pumpkins replaced turnips.

What about trick or treating? The Celts used to go to homes and actually perform to get treats. They would ask if the household wanted a "trick" or would they give a "treat". The "trick" was mischevious actions taken against the homeowner, and mostly likely the origin of Mischief Night (Oct 30).  The good news is, that for the treat, they would entertain you by singing, dancing, or......you guessed it, telling a ghost story!

Halloween died out in this country in the 20th century. The church labeled it as Pagan (which it is , but the church uses that word  as a "slur"), devil worship and evil. But it resurrected itself here around the 1930's, with parties and masks. We still celebrate today. There was a time in the 1980's when there were few trick or treaters, as people would put dangerous substances in the treats they gave out. Now we have safety rules for children, and adults usually inspect their bag of goodies before allowing them to eat them.

But Halloween wouldn't stay away, it came again and is, the largest retail holiday. The old ways are still practiced in parts of the world, especially in Ireland and Scotland. There are other holidays related to it, like the Days of the Dead in Mexico, always around the same time. Other countries also have "Days fo the Dead" to honor ancestors (which is also the theme of the Mexican days).

So get ready to ask some loves ones in, and keep the bad , evil spirits out. Carve a pumpkin, light a bonfire, and have fun telling ghost stories!

I know I will!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Gina

Matt and I went out to do a cleansing last night. A house energetic cleansing. They take a little time, depending on the size of the house, and the severity of the negativity. Last night wasn't bad at all. We did the cleansing of the house and its' occupant, and prepared to leave.

We were asked what they could pay us, we both said immediately, "Nothing!". We cannot accept payment for this.

When you take on the spiritual /metaphysical life there are some things that you cannot charge for. When they are a spiritual helping or teaching you do not charge. Especially if they are Native American spiritual teachings.

I am sure people get confused over what to charge for and what not to. It can be confusing. However, some people purposefully get confused and put a price tag on their "help".

When someone is in spiritual need, you do not charge. If you called your priest and said you were having a crisis, could you speak to him, would he charge you?

When we do these things, there is an exchange, it is an exchange of energy. Last night we were paid in a way, with thanks, good converastion, seeds and a cup of coffee. There was an energy exchange. Money is unfortunately the only "Payment" some people see, however money has its' place!

There are all sorts of guidelines to follow in the spiritual /energy/ metaphysical area.

If you give reiki treatments for a living, and a stranger calls and says they want to use your services, you charge your going rate. If you are or are not a person who does this for a living, and a distraught person contacts you saying that they are sitting in ICU watching their loved one pass, and they need help, you don't.

When you are teaching spiritual studies, you do not charge. When you are teaching Native American spirituality, you do not charge. You ask to be taught alone, by an individual, and you dedicate years to the study.

When you want to learn a process, like reiki treatments,  how to read tarot, how to make an astrological chart, how to do relexology, then you pay a teacher (depending on what you are learning, you may need to go to an accredited group, like reflexology, or a certified Reiki Master for reiki).

You don't cleanse a house, help people pass, do a pipe ceremony, or setup a prayer chain and accept payment.

Think of it as...is this something my spiritual advisor (priest, reiki master, temple master, Rabbi) would charge for? If not, then you don't either.

Don't charge for "helping", and be careful that you do not get to the point where you do not charge for anything. When you do that, you take the value away from whatever it is, and make it literally worthless. There are people who have  been giving away for years what others make a living off of, and wonder why it doesn't work as good as it used to. They devalued it, they gave it away all the time, so the Universe says,it must be worth nothing to them. Remember your fellow humans who may be trying to make a living off of what you are giving away!

On the other hand, if your famly member needs a reiki treatment, I sure hope that you aren't charging them. Money is not evil, and it is not the thing that makes you happy. It is what you make of it. But it is a form of energy exchange. It gives things value. We also have to make sure we are not abusing that value, like charging someone over $9,000.00 to enter a sweat lodge. Each situation needs to be individually assessed as far as payment or not.

Make sure that the person you are helping knows your real credentials, and I shouldn't have to say this, but make sure YOU have them. They are people walking around calling themselves things like "reiki master" who are not reiki masters. Ask for their certificate, and their teacher's name. When they are "real" they will have all of that. Giving reiki treatments as a reiki master and charging a fee,  when you are not a reiki master, is fraud. Legally, spritually, literally, fraud.

Reiki, reflexology, healing touch, etc. all come in repetitive classes over a span of time (usually years),  and work completed. They all come with a certificate from the institution/person who taught the class. People spend a lot of time and money on these classes, and that is why they charge a fee. They have made it their life's work, and it should not be degraded by people who take on titles they didn't earn.

When you aren't sure, ask. Ask the person who taught you what you know, if you should charge in a particular situation. When all your learning comes from books, find a respected teacher and ask them, and while you are at it, set up a class with them! Use different teachers in different settings and see what varied and wonderful things you will learn! I learned to quilt from books, but when I took classes...WOW, it was like a whole other world opened up to me.

Many times I have learned that what someone told me (not is a class thank goddess), was 99% incorrect. But I always go and check it out, many do not. They are like little sheep. But that is a blog for another day.

Be careful what you charge for, and if you are not sure....ask! I will be happy to help if you feel that you have no one to ask.

Do what you do for the right reasons....not money, recognition, fame, or to collect something back at a later date (calling in favors).

Never take on a spiritual task, class, training, title, with "making money" as the primary goal. You will fail.

Do it the right way for the right reasons!

Namaste!

I have talked about time before and how it is so important. It is important to be on time, to do things on time or in a timely manner. To not take too much of another's time, to take the time to do what you need to.

It is important also to do what you say you are going to do. When you make a promise, keep it. The only thing that should change that is if circumstances change. You can't help a friend do something if they make no time to do it themselves.

When you say that you will do something, do it.

Take that to another level. Do not just do what you promise to, and don't just do it in a timely manner, but do it for the right reasons. Do it because you are honestly trying to help. Not for glory, recognition, or something else to put on your resume.

Be smart about what you are doing. You may want to feed starving children in Africa, OK, noble indeed. However, there are kids here in the US starving, why not start with those, charity begins at home. Work in your own backyard before reaching out to others. Work in a way that is productive and helpful, and within your resources.

So be practical.

So we need to be mindful of time; to be humble; to be really helpful; to be doing it for the right reason....and we also need to do it the right way.

Not only is it energetically correct to do things the right way, but if you are doing anything where others can observe, or learn, you must make sure that you are doing it the right way or honestly tell them....Hey this isn't the right way, but I do it this way because it works better for me. In other words, be honest.

If you are doing ANYTHING that is spiritual, energy work, or good works, and you are doing it for recognition, as I have said before....you will get a huge Universal slap in the back of the head. It isn't worth it.

So be that person that does what they say they will do; do it on time; do it properly; do it for the right reasons; be humble; do things that actually help.

Time to leave your Ego on a desert island!
