Happy Independence Day...Believer...

As modern Americans, we suffer various handicaps when it comes to the vigilance required to maintain the liberty and freedom which we have been entrusted with. Generations of educational and intellectual erosion have washed away a historic American identity. Into that void of collective memory loss has been poured a national lifestyle and dependency that necessitates a reliance on Government that is not just dangerous but ultimately destructive. We were born in the twentieth century missing a memory of our country's most basic life support requirement. Vigilance!
"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." -John Philpot Curran - 1790

That is another way of saying the ones willing to participate or act will rule the ones that are either not willing or too busy to do so. I'm afraid we may have to do more than show up to vote once a year if we hope for America to change direction.

This is what prompted Benjamin Franklin to remark that the Founding Fathers had given us "A republic, if you can keep it."

The fertile ground of liberty has given way to every imaginable restriction requiring all manner of sanctioned licenses, permits and registrations. The more than 300 million American citizens are now by default, scrutinized, spied on and cataloged in the name of "safety and security" because there may be those wanting to harm us among us. So Americans are treated like subjects while a criminal banking elite wreaks havoc on the country in broad daylight and with the permission of elected officials. The few are constructing a police state around themselves while the rest of America remains vulnerable.

There is no security nor safety in the disregard of freedoms.

But having been born into a condition only a little better than the present one, most living Americans are willing to tolerate all manner of "evils", as long as they are "sufferable". As long as those "evils" do not interrupt Sunday ball games and summer vacations. American believers have additional mental hurdles to clear before getting in the game of securing their own country's future from within. After all, It could be God's will that our beloved Republic deteriorates into ungodly socialistic ground for our "end time" church to thrive.

Thank God some of the founding generation used their faith as the reason to do what was right instead of an excuse to allow what was wrong!

On this 233rd anniversary of our great festival, Independence Day, let us remember at least some of those words of reasoning and ordained thought from our Declaration of Independence...

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

We are well beyond "transient causes". Yet it seems that we still "are more disposed to suffer," Because apparently the current "evils are sufferable". That is sort of like choosing the lesser evil isn't it? This is precisely our current mode of national existence. Most of us Americans are too busy making the mortgage payment, putting food on the table or manicuring our lawns to concern ourselves with providing "Guards for our future security". Perhaps a future generation, our children or grand children will find the time and desire to reverse the trend. Unfortunately, that will probably be too late.

We still have hope to accomplish this necessary function if we will just realize the need and respond to the responsibility, especially followers of Christ. The mechanisms still exist within the Constitution of the United States to accomplish this. The answers and vehicle are there for us to right the country but it cannot wait for future generations. We must realize this as American believers. We are rapidly heading towards the day when not only will the Constitution be ignored by elected officials but we will no longer have the ability to even point that fact out, let alone remedy it.

We have to begin to care and begin to educate ourselves and one another on the God given rights and responsibilities that the Founding Fathers attempted to hardwire into our system of government. The effective means of correcting our predicament still exist but are by and large forgotten. Let's start remembering. It still begins with the Declaration of Independence , the Constitution including the Bill of Rights.

Remember what it is about... Happy Independence Day!
Eternal vigilance!

Wow, it's time to take a break from politics... Think again.

I am of course very concerned by the election of Barack Obama primarily because he has refused to (easily) produce a certified copy of his Hawaiian birth certificate for some reason (along with keeping many documents sealed from Harvard, University of Illinois, his wife's thesis, etc.). Perhaps because of his paternal grandmother's claim that she ...was in the delivery room in [Mombosa,] Kenya (making him not qualified to be President), when he was born Aug. 4, 1961. But I will be following that more in the future. See the latest about this situation in the article: Obama and our Coming Constitutional Crisis by Ellis Washington (professor of law and political science at Savannah State University)http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80435. Also see the latest on the lawsuit at: www.obamacrimes.com. Understand, this truly is a big deal.

But I want to deal a little with our overall situation in this country and what our responsibility is to God and future generations of Americans.

Involve yourself in politics at the local level and you will quickly realize why most people have no interest in pursuing it as an occupation or a hobby. It takes at least three things that most of us are in short supply of;  time, money and thought.

There is a fourth thing that I have come to realize it takes and it is the one thing I believe we've been missing. It's also the one thing that will keep me involved beyond today and probably at a whole new level of conviction. Care. Care is the fourth thing that can trump the other three things it takes to involve yourself in politics. Call it love for others if you want. Call it love for your country or like in my case all of that plus more importantly love for my family's future... concern for my children and their children's country. For of all the things I have come to realize over the past two years of campaigning and working within the party politics, this one thing is true: I  believe that if I (and everyone else) do not remain involved between elections, our country is lost. If we just vote and wait for the next election, we will keep getting progressively worse candidates, guaranteed. Do you want that? I don't.

Now if you are one of those that believe that it really doesn't matter or that God is through with our country, stop reading and move on. All others consider a few things please.

It is true: God is in control and He raises, removes and controls leaders. However, most Americans, (especially Christians) have not been taught that the ultimate "authority" in the American Republic was "We the People" based on our Constitution. This was intended by the founding fathers expressly because of the evil nature of man and Satan's working through people down through history. It was also not the founder's intent that Americans only concern themselves with politics at election time. The one thing that the founding fathers were certain of was that power placed in the hands of men and left unchecked for any amount of time would always lead to despotism. It always has in every society throughout history. Yet today's Americans, including the church in America seem to believe that men can be trusted after we elect them. After all, isn't Roman's 13 permission to not question government?  It's almost as if many believers think we live in some extension of the Roman Empire of Paul's time. This lack of historical context is why America and America's churches are where they are and headed where they're headed. We go to church and we go to work, maybe vote once every couple of years and then we let the "rulers" rule us... and we complain about it because "if you vote you have a right to complain."

The founders with the support of the minister's of the time gave us the gift of self government born out of resistance and ultimately rebellion to tyranny. They truly believed that they "must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29) and that meant that there was a point at which you must stand up to human "authorities".

More importantly we still have the responsibility and ability to influence and correct our government and policies. America is alone in history and in the world as the one time and place where Christians have and still do enjoy liberty and freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of worship and freedom to spread the Word. But that is being slowly eroded generation after generation in such a way that few have recognized the complacency that allowed it. We  vote and feel empowered while America is squandered by corrupted politicians that we elect as the "lesser of two evils". That is  the choice only because we refuse to be involved as a body continuously between elections.

It's time for God's people to realized their birthright in America and reclaim it through participation BETWEEN elections. It is our right and responsibility to vote but it is even more our responsibility to confine our government to the Constitutional constraints placed on it to ensure that our Republic remains the light on the hill of the world. That light has all but gone out and If we cannot get other Christians to educate themselves and realize this, and to realize that we can do something in addition to pray and wait for the rapture, America could be the foundation for an Antichrist system like the world has never seen. If that happens, I believe a century of Christians are at least partly to blame because of our actions and inaction that has contributed to the slide into despotism. We must act according to what we understand God's character is, not what we think the "end time" time line is.

That all being said, Christians are the only Americans that truly have the hope to offer the world. But that "right" and responsibility is very close to being lost. If it is taken it is our own fault believers. Liberty and freedom are at much greater risk of being lost from within than from a foreign threat. We can use our unique position and authority over our government to recreate the free republic that the founders gave us or we can allow it to fade into tyranny like all civilizations before. This hope is what should give us the resolve to pick up the pieces and rebuild our country for God. There is ultimate hope in Christ but we must share it and defend it for the world as the salt and light that we have been called to be. But Jesus said if the salt loses its flavor... it is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. That is where we are today.

Please get involved now in local politics where you are at some level. That is the only way to fix things in America. If you do not know what to do, ask me and I will be more than happy to tell  how you can join the fight for our nation.

For the Republic and in Jesus blessed name,

Troy Perkins

Primer - Read - Jeremiah chapter 23 in the Bible...

This may make some people mad, but it is not meant to (or maybe it is). Please open your hearts and minds believers. You may have heard of the big healing revival taking place for more than a month now in Lakeland Florida, led by Canadian "revivalist" Todd Bentley. Let me say up front, feel free to reply with specific information if you wish to refute what I have to write but know that I have been prayerfully watching this for over a month and I believe the church needs to exercise extreme discernment.

I want to encourage everyone to go to God in prayer and search the whole of scripture concerning the teachings of this man. I am not the only one concerned about this, Charisma editor Lee Grady has even written an article of caution concerning it: see - "Honest Questions About the Lakeland Revival" (http://charismamag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2435&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&sid=053fca9532697ee88a0c1350d07f6812).

What you will find, if you honestly and prayfully look into this, is a mixture of Latter Rain Theology and the Occult and it is at best cheapening the gospel and more dangerously, like other "moves" before it, going to leave many people empty and wanting more or with a bad taste about who God really is as revealed in His word.

Some of Todd Bentley's teachings:

.. -That is just a sampling of some of Todd's teachings. Todd Bentley's Teachings Page http://www.freshfire.ca/?Id=916.

In the Lakeland meetings:

  • There is no doubt that group dynamics come into play in a strong way in these services to the point where people are influenced through suggestion to believe anything that is said. Todd Bentley's stories of the Holy Spirit and Angels directing him to do all manner of absurd things, many times violent acts, prompts the anticipating crowds to laugh at pure foolishness.
  • Mass suggestion is powerful and anyone that subjects themselves to these meetings is ripe for all manner of deception.
  • If there are real healings happening, it is in spite of false teachings not because of Todd Bentley or his "gifts".
  • Todd gives all kinds of false attributions of violence as being given to him from the Holy Spirit:

Todd said "…God why has the power of God not been moving and He(God) said, 'because you haven't kicked that woman in the face" the Holy Spirit said "kick her in the face… with your biker bootI inched closer and I went like this… BAM!!! And just as my boot made contact with her nose, she fell under the power of God."

Todd speaks of times when God tells him to do all manner of violent acts to audience members like "running them down", "jumped in the air and went BAM!, jumped onto him and got into a full mount… ground and pound" …"and instead of punching him I grabbed him by the neck and I started choking him… and I said, come out of him devil!.."

"…I hit this guy so hard… it drove him back several feet… he hit the ground, and his tooth popped right out of his mouth."

"…The pastor was lying on the floor, and I was standing up on the platform and I said God I want revival , a- He said these words to me 'leg drop the pastor' … I said what? He said 'leg drop the pastor!'"

Todd said God told him to bang a woman's legs on the stage like a baseball bat.

  • In these meetings, most of the "healing" time is spent taking testimonies on stage and Bentley uses stage mesmerist techniques to "fish" information from some about a current condition in the person's life or body. When he is getting nowhere with a person he moves to something or someone else.
  • If you go back and watch earlier videos of Todd Bentley he wasn't as polished with his "prophesying" and it was very obvious, but in the current form in Lakeland , the atmosphere is so charged and the pace so quick, it is hard to keep up with what is being said or done. This is how reality can be so blurred for so many people, live.
  • There are all manner of convulsions and bodily jerking from not only Bentley but from many in attendance. In fact, if you do some research on Kundalini Yoga, Subud, and Qigong, you see much in common with this "revival" including jerking, repetitious bodily movements, manifestations, visitations, burning sensations and "falling out" or "sleighing". Even occult healings. Supernatural does not automatically equal the true God.
  • .I have not been able to find any evidence (including having watched hours of the current Lakeland revival ) of true supernatural healings like mangled or amputated limbs restored, missing eyes restored to eye sockets. Only subjective healings (asthma, fibromyalgia, arthritis, bad nerve, or worse… gold teeth and fillings, instead of just healing or growing a tooth) which are healings that medicine men and mesmerists can do as well. There is a huge difference in these "miracles".

Robert Marks said "people in crowds are more easily influenced than people taken singly. This fact has been capitalized on by stage hypnotists as well as evangelists, political orators, and dictators." He goes on to say "the effect of suggestion on crowds seems virtually without limit. It can make black appear white. It can obscure realities, enshrine absurdities, and impel men pitilessly to cleave the skulls of their brothers."

Supernatural does not automatically mean it is from or of God. –

.. 1 John 4:1 (KJV) - 1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Jeremiah 23:16 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD."

Read the whole chapter of Jeremiah 23, please.

Historically, revivals have been led by the church through reformation and repentance after returning to the Word and prayer. Revivals begin with the preaching about sin and repentance and every true revival has impacted the world by masses being saved.

Yes God can and does heal, and I believe could and might raise the dead today. But true revival is absent in this "revival".

Please, believer, in the name of Jesus, read the Bible. There is a lot said about false teachers and prophets. We must have spiritual discernment and be so familiar with God's truth and spirit that we can spot fraud a mile away. Then we need to have the guts to admit this goes on and warn others lest they become snared.

Deut 13:1-5 (KJV) - If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

2 Tim 3:1-9 (ASV) - But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. >From these also turn away. For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth. Men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be.

2 Thess 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders...

Matt 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

As you read the the below message that I posted to www.patriotbeliever.com a few weeks ago, consider that much has been happening. Ron Paul is raising millions from individual contributors, constantly winning straw and online polls, drawing thousands to rallies and public appearances yet his message hasn't changed. Life and liberty, the "constitutional" way. What a concept! This is sorely needed in our country in a day when even some Christian leaders are turning to support pro-abortion, immoral candidates for a false sense of "security". And after a $4.3 million dollar fund raising day (all from individuals) on November 11th, I can't wait to see what happens on December 16, 2007 when once again thousands of American's will join together in support with another "money bomb" day to commemorate the Boston Tea Party that took place on December 16th, 1773 and to show that Ron Paul's message is more than a few dozen internet junkies..
    Join the party... - Troy

p.s. Ron Paul is the only candidate you will find who wrote an entire book on the topic of abortion, from the standpoint of a pro-life, Christian, statesman, and OB-GYN medical doctor...in 1990. The book, if you can find it, is called Challenge to Liberty. He also is the only candidate with actual legislation currently introduced to end abortion with H.R. 2597 "The Sanctity of Life Act of 2007".

Support a Greater Good - Why Christians Should Support Ron Paul for President
*      *      *

Troy Perkins - October 3, 2007

I want to address you, American Christian. All others are welcome to read and consider my points, and hopefully consider accepting Christ as Lord and in doing so, make this more relevant. But this will be directed at my brothers and sisters in Christ first. We as Christians seem to be more willing to place faith in something or someone and I believe sometimes it is blindly placed in something other than our Lord. This leads to enslavement, and usually we have a hard time realizing we are bound and thus an even harder time getting set free. My goal is to convince you to seriously consider our country's future in regard to next year's election, from a Christian point of view.

It is no secret that I am a staunch supporter of Texas Congressman Ron Paul for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008. I know, "not another Ron Paul" message. Stay with me… It hasn't been too difficult convincing people considering the condition of the Republican Party and the current political environment in America. Everywhere I hand out flyers for Ron Paul to fellow Americans people seem eager to hear of a refreshing choice running for president. There is now an amazing number of people who seem to have heard of and are positive about Dr. Paul and his freedom message. All in all there is great grassroots support for Ron Paul and his message and it's only growing.

The biggest resistance I have seen to this incredible message so far has been within the ranks of evangelical Christianity on the radio, on T.V. and some believers I personally talk with. Don't get me wrong, I know many informed believers who are behind Paul all the way and I may have convinced a few myself, but there are many who are skeptical, blindly loyal to party favorites, or more often than not, flat-out misinformed. Granted, this perception of mine may be slightly skewed because of limited associations, but I believe it is somewhat common because I was there myself not too long ago. So I can relate. But the most disturbing resistance to Ron Paul from fellow believers that I have noticed comes in the form of a lack of belief in possibilities. Few disagree with his constitutional stances but his lack of notoriety to some makes him "unelectable". But wait a minute; is not anything possible with our God? Even a modern day political miracle that would no doubt help our country climb out of the moral pit in which we find ourselves? American Christians have long prayed for America's return to Godliness and decency. I propose that a Paul Presidency could represent just that, if we have the faith to accept it. He could represent just that because the reparation of our national morals, in the political sense, must begin with a return to a respect for the rule of law, subsequent only to the Bible, our Constitution.

Where I think we have lost our way is our loyalty to men instead of truth; Godly, principled truth. What I want to accomplish in convincing you about Ron Paul is to convince you to choose and support this idea, the idea of freedom and liberty, rooted in the Constitution and ultimately scripture. An idea that has been propagandized and exploited until it no longer looks or means anything close to what it did just a hundred years ago or so. I can hear your programming kicking in "but what's the point? It's all controlled anyway. There is no chance so I must choose the least evil man." I've become numb to such reasoning, if you can call it that. I used to think and say those words myself and I believed it. Come on, be a Joshua and Caleb! Whatever happened to Jesus' statement "but with God all things are possible"? Forgive the lack of context but it is a general biblical fact regardless. Are American Christians that faithless or gutless that we will fall in line with whatever the world tells us is the "better" choice or "right" thing? I sure am glad our founding fathers did not use that line of reasoning, or we would still be an oppressed British colony. Remember, King George could (and did) point to his being ordained by God to rule. But this goes beyond the "lesser of two evils" mindset.

You've read this far, so let's get to the real information. I want to point out what I consider some big reasons Ron Paul should be the Christian's choice for president in 2008. Be willing to look into the information and learn. Be willing to consider that there is a real devil who works through men and the affairs of men.  But also be willing to know that God asks us to not only win souls but to resist evil when we have the opportunity and are guided to do so in His Word and by His Spirit, and in a Representative Republic, that includes in government. Ask God to guide you in influencing this Republic that we have been blessed with and the responsibility to participate in through choosing and influencing our leaders. Then be willing to step out in faith that it can be done with a "great good" President rather than a "lesser evil" one.

For those still not familiar with Ron Paul, he is in his tenth term in the House of Representatives for the fourteenth district of Texas. He is an obstetrician, veteran flight surgeon, father, grandfather, and husband to the same wife of fifty years. He is a strict constitutionalist and has twenty years of votes in the House of Representatives to prove it. He has never voted to raise taxes, never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted to restrict gun ownership, never voted to raise congressional pay, never taken a government-paid junket, refuses to take the congressional pension and always returns part of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury to name a few accolades. For that record he has earned the nickname "Dr. No" for his extremely conservative voting record in the House. So to put it mildly, Dr. Paul has a record that is unmatched in Congress from the foreseeable past, or future for that matter.

But you say you have never heard of Ron Paul so he can't win? Who says the media? Let me point you to the presidential election of 1948. Harry S. Truman, was predicted to lose big, so much so that he snuck away from election night festivities, went to a hotel room in another town and slept. The predictions continued throughout the night until Thomas E. Dewey, the overwhelmingly favored Republican candidate, conceded the next morning to a rested and surprised Truman. Newspapers had already been printed "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN". This was during a time when most of it was televised and telephone polling was, like today, the mainstream's preferred indicator of a candidate's status with the voters. Truman's victory came despite a three-way split of his own party as well. All along, national polls had told a different story.

But besides the unique historic precedent of the 1948 election, how electable, you might ask, is Congressman Paul, really?

First there is his record in Congress. It is undeniable, staunchly conservative, unusually consistent, and fiercely constitutional. He has served on and headed various committees during his twenty years service. And what about those skeletons in the old closet that always seem to surface during the heat of a presidential run? So far Ron Paul is spotless and only time can tell on that one. Rest assured, however, that the longer a person hangs in a national campaign, the more sure that will become one way or another. I do know this, he has been married to the same woman for fifty years, is not a member of any secret death cult societies from Yale, hasn't frequented the pages of his local paper for impropriety or drunkenness and when drafted to military service during the Cuban crisis, he actually showed up and served and stayed after his two year requirement for a total of five. One other thing on his electability, he represents a farming district and gets reelected even though he consistently opposes farm subsidies. That makes Ron Paul some kind of enigma in politics doesn't it?

Then there is the internet. This election has the potential to prove what many talk radio hosts like to point out about the mainstream press today. The mainstream presses lack of acknowledgement of Dr. Paul's growing support may be an insignificant factor and indicator of American opinion and choice. Talk radio is rivaled only by the internet as a major source of news and information for Americans today. This could become the deciding advantage that one Republican has truly tapped into and this could be the first national election where it matters. Ron Paul is a giant on the internet.

Besides the obvious "conservative" stances that Ron Paul takes, monetary policy is on of his strongest yet little understood by the American people. Better stated, we all know something is wrong but we seldom understand it. Ron Paul is for sound money! America (and the world system for that matter) is a fiat, inflationary money system. Ron Paul is against fiat, inflationary money. Guess what, so is God. Leviticus 19:35 and 36 reads:

"Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure. Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I [am] the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt."

A study of this scripture reveals that this debasement of money that God forbid his people to conduct was carried out physically by shaving coins so as to decrease the real value of it with little or no notice, leaving the next person with a little less real money. It was stealing by physical depreciation, pure and simple. Fraud in weights was fraud in money. This occurs with our money system today when the FED "shaves" value from our Federal Reserve notes by printing more backed by nothing more than credit and debt. This fraud, Of course, benefits the ones who first had access to the money and did the shaving. In America's case this would be the Federal Reserve followed by the government and then the other banks. There are other scriptures that deal with money debasement (something that is occurring intentionally in our system of money): Prov. 11:1, 20:10, 23; Isa. 1:22; Amos 8:5-6; Mic. 6:10-12

Make no mistake about it, the more you learn about our system of banking and money, the more you will realize it is the number one root of the evils in overall policy that we put up with as a nation. Congressman Ron Paul has consistently fought for a return to real money, against all odds, proposing the elimination of the FED and return to a gold standard. There are many good scholarly plans on how this can and should be done.

Along the same lines as the debasement of our money system is the oppression by our tax system which hurts the middle class and poor most. Ron Paul proposes abolishing the IRS and replacing it with nothing. This is not as radical as you might think considering income taxes collected do not even service the interest on the national debt, let alone begin to pay for anything. At the same time, Dr. Paul wants to eliminate most of the wasteful federal departments that supposedly make the income tax necessary.

Ron Paul takes the stance of the founding fathers when it comes to foreign policy. Be friends with all countries if possible but form alliances with none. Under a Ron Paul presidency America would stay out of the affairs of foreign countries while trading with all who care to play by the rules set by the American people as far as it does not violate the Constitution.

Ron Paul also realizes that to truly secure our great nation we must bring all American military forces home to both stop the meddling on other country's soil as and more importantly to actually secure our borders for the first time in recent history. He believes war, according to the Constitution, is reserved to actually defending America and is the last resort. American "interests" usually represents "corporate" American "interests" and thus was excluded from the war powers as written in the Constitution. Of course Ron Paul believes that the Congress must declare war, not the President, something he insisted they do before the current war in Iraq, to no avail.

The "show stopper" for a believer in my opinion is abortion. But since (almost) all supposed "conservative" Republican candidates claim to oppose abortion, we must inspect the fruit. Dr. Ron Paul, being an Obstetrician (OB-GYN) that has delivered over 4000 babies believes that human life begins at conception as a medical fact along with his personal faith view as outlined in scripture. As for the fruit, he put his political money where his mouth is when he introduced "the Sanctity of Life Act of 2005" that would have made all abortions illegal and would have been effective immediately without requiring an overturning of Roe v. Wade. He had little support from an otherwise mute Republican controlled House or White House. It's almost as if he is the only Republican serious about ending abortion.

I know that there are many areas of concern that Christians have today but I think I have touched on the ones that should be the most urgent to a believer concerning who to support as President of the United States. Considering that the evangelicals that have supported the Republican party faithfully in recent years have been "kicked to the curb" time and time again by the party, it should be a breath of fresh air to finally have a true conservative Christian man running for the nomination that has real fruit to back up the words coming from his mouth. We don't have to hold our noses and vote for the lesser of two evils this time around if we just have a little faith. Think about it, Ron Paul, after months of winning more straw polls than any candidate, winning most debates hands down, and finally being considered "top tier" by being one of the five "major" candidates now invited to the national GOP presidential fund raising dinner, and after raising over one million dollars in just seven days of online grassroots donations (actually $1,208,219.77 to be exact… in four days less than it took John Edwards to do the same thing), we have a very electable candidate that we can vote for and not compromise a single Christian principle in doing so. Now is the time to join a revolution that is happening with or without us but it is the right thing to do. This might be the last election in which that will occur and Christians don't have to compromise.

This election, vote for the "greater good" candidate instead of the "lesser evil" one. Christians, support liberty. Support Ron Paul.

Christians,
If you are not actively praying for God to prevent an attack on Iran, please start doing so now. It will likely lead to a draft of our children and grand children, have a profoundly negative impact on oil prices... which effects everything, and will escalate a Middle East war into something out of (our) control. (I understand the sovereignty of God and that is not the issue here. Our responsibility is the issue.) We must be praying about this impending attack regardless of your opinion of the justification for preemptive war. Our leaders have made it clear it is the preeminent (only) option to them.

Listening to Shawn Hannity on my way home yesterday was sickening as he almost gleefully (and I mean he sounded excited about it) announced to his listeners that on the Hannity and Colmes Show last night they would "layout" in detail the upcoming US attack on Iran, like a pre-game football show or something. And Hannity is not the only one beating the drums of (more) war. A few of you may remember, it has been almost two years since I wrote to my representative, Howard Coble, about the desire of this administration to attack Iran. The drum beat has only gotten louder in neo-conservative as well as liberal circles. Please Pray about this!
This week Iranian President Ahmadinejad spoke at Columbia University along with his UN visit, providing both liberals and neo-conservatives all kinds of juicy talking points and sound bites to fan the flames of war fervor. But hold on a second. We can't let this "megalomaniac" develop nuclear technology because he will blow up our troops in Iraq or worse, Israel, right? So the Pentagon has been authorized to use a nuclear first strike on Iran to prevent them from gaining nuclear tech, err... weapons technology. (By the way, the CIA says that Iran is conservatively ten years away from having a nuclear weapon, not to mention an effective delivery system. The CIA says this!) Yes Ahmadinejad is a crazed dictator guilty and capable of all kinds of atrocities, but this week's visit to the US should serve as an eye opener to all thinking Americans.

Why did we not apprehend Ahmadinejad while he was here?

Think about it, the main justification for attacking Iran is this guy and the charges are:

  1. he has said he wants to destroy Israel for good (we Bible believers know that is impossible, right?)
  2. and that he is helping Al-Qaeda in Iraq with weapons and bomb making support.

... so we must bomb Iran? PRAY
But the big news yesterday was that Ahmadinejad should not have been given a platform to speak here, even though Fox News helped spread his speech at the same time they were reporting how bad it was to give him a platform in America. Does that make any sense at all? Fox News aired the translated speech of the madman, live, the madman that Fox and others were so adamant about saying he deserves to not be heard (why carry him live then? Fair and balanced I guess.) Makes a lot of sense. Don't you see what is going on? Wake up! PRAY

So why was there not an outcry to arrest this "criminal against humanity" while he was here instead of criticizing the University (we know where most colleges stand)? The only thing discussed by the news was whether he had a right to speak or not (of course he does not have a right to speak here, he's not an American! He has no rights here, not as a citizen.) Don't tell me diplomatic immunity afforded him as a UN member to not be arrested and to travel freely in our country. According to us, he is an enemy combatant. Not only that he is the source of the threat, right? Why was he not arrested while he was here to prevent a huge world war? We are way beyond the UN excuse. We only follow the UN rules when it benefits us (or when enforcing UN resolutions allows us to take military action), normally. Plus, this guy is killing our troops, right? He should have been arrested as soon as he set foot here. That would be worth preventing an actual war with Iran to supposedly accomplish the same thing.
At the very least why was Ahmadinejad not invited to meet with the President at the White House for talks? The answer to that is obvious, sanctions on Iran don't end with goods going into the country, it extends to talks with the leader. Nation Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice has openly stated that we will not be talking to Ahmadinejad. What a missed opportunity.

So the thinking American now knows what the real goal is, if they were paying attention: Indefinite conflict in the Middle East. I propose that the results will be disastrous. Iran is completely different than Iraq (you do know they're Persian not Arab, you'd be suprised how many don't even know this) and they are allies with and customers/suppliers of China and Russia. Although Iran does not have much of a military, attacking Iran has the potential to set off all kinds of trouble worldwide. And Americans are o.k. with this? A draft will likely have to be instituted, more money will have to be borrowed (and the dollar depreciated) from China and others (this is how we are paying for Iraq now?) So I say again, why was Ahmadinejad not apprehended by the US on this trip. Think, think, think. No, pray, pray, pray.

Let me mention one other point. Sometimes I get my hair cut at a place where there is an employee who is from Iran and has family in Iran. She has told me that much of Iran is very modern (boy is that gonna change) and westernized with cities, particularly Tehran, much like American cities. Something interesting was her comparison of the public school systems. She says that kids actually learn much more in Iranian schools than here. She has kids in school here and she is disappointed at how little they actually learn while at school and how much she has to teach them at night doing homework. When I ask here about the situation she says that her family there knows little about the danger of attack by the US and this has her worried. I could only tell her that I'm praying that an attack will be averted. PRAY

If you can't see what is going on, believer, pray first that God will give you desire to know, then desire to understand. then pray that an attack will be averted somehow.

Please pray, pray, pray in Jesus' name.

Now for those who would say that this is all end time prophesy being fulfilled and that we must roll with it, read on...

God's prophetic timetable is not in question by me. What I question greatly now is evangelical Christian's willingness to ignore the responsibilities laid out both in scripture as well as in our Constitution, both of which are being ignored and trampled by "end-times justifies the means" thinking. Yes we can understand the times and yes Jesus' return is the hope that we all have to look for and be ready for, but nowhere in scripture are we given the authority or permission to act contrary to the character of God as revealed in His Word based on what dispensation we "interpret" ourselves to be in. To do so is to yoke ourselves with the problems rather than solutions. For too long modern believers have been misguided and many times downright deceived by this way of thinking. It has made many lazy, ignorant, and ripe for bondage of all sorts.
We must be like the people of Issachar in 1 Chronicles 12:32 "which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do" and the psalmist: "I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts." (Psalms 119:100) It does not say "because I think your about to return".
The Church used to ascribe to the Christian "Just War Theory" first developed by Augustine (Calvinists listen up) where war was the extreme case last resort and only for the self defense of the nation itself. This was the position of the founding fathers as well, partly because of the Just War Theory. But we find ourselves policing the world and nation building, neither of which are authorized by the Constitution, not even in the name of "the War on Terror".

Reading assignment: Look up "Letter of Marque and Reprisal" the Constitution's answer to terrorism that did not require a declaration of war (which we didn't do as required either.)

I know that in our country it is difficult to know what's right but we have a Constitution, many writings from the guys that wrote and signed it and more importantly, that document is based on and consistent with the Bible. Turn to those sources for understanding and guidance and please PRAY that our elected representatives will as well or be stopped in the globalist, anti-American policies that are destroying this nation.

Pray

LAST WORD:
"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (Ephesians 6:13) " to stand" is a military term much like to hold the ground, not retreat, defend the position. In the spiritual sense we give up that ground if we justify our actions, or our country's actions (we are a Representative Republic... look up the people's responsibility) based on anything other than or ignoring scripture or the Constitution.

Troy Perkins
p.s. If anyone can give me a good reason why it didn't make sense to apprehend Ahmadinejad here instead of bombing Iran soon, I welcome your reasoning. Please.

This is a good summary of why conservatives have only one choice next year for President... Have a great week. - Troy

CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS HAVE ONLY ONE CHOICE IN 2008

By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

August 28, 2007

NewsWithViews.com

Let's cut to the chase: conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. Unlike the GOP frontrunners, Paul is the real deal.

No real conservative could support Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Newt Gingrich. When it comes to historic conservative principles, each of these men is as phony as a three dollar bill. That they are now attempting to cast themselves as conservatives is more than laughable: it is downright hilarious.

For an ongoing review of the major presidential aspirants, I invite readers to visit this web page often.

The more that conservatives (and the rest of America) learn about the GOP's "top tier" candidates, the more they will dislike them. This fact does not bode well for the GOP in the 2008 general election should one of these five men obtain the nomination. Plus, G.W. Bush has forever wasted the antiquated "lesser of two evils" philosophy. As they say here in the south, "That dog won't hunt." Not anymore.

On the whole, Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo are head and shoulders above the aforementioned "top tier" candidates, especially on the very important illegal immigration issue. They are also opposed to so-called "free trade" agreements, and they are both pro-Second Amendment. This is a plus. Hunter supports preemptive war, however, and he voted for both the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, which disqualifies him for President, in my judgment. I confess to liking Tom Tancredo. He strikes me as an honest man and was a bulldog in fighting Bush's amnesty for illegal aliens proposal. However, he also voted for the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act. Mike Huckabee and Sam Brownback are strong on the life issue, but they are dismal on immigration and Big Brother issues. All that said, it is Ron Paul alone who contains the "whole package."

He has a twenty-year record as a conservative congressman that is virtually unblemished. Unlike the vast majority of congressmen and senators in Washington, D.C., Paul consistently honors his oath of office to support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. That, all by itself, should be worth a conservative's support.

In fact, Ron Paul has voted against so many unconstitutional bills offered by both Democrats and Republicans that he is known on Capitol Hill as "Dr. No." This moniker comes from both his "no" votes and the fact that Paul is a former medical doctor, an OB/GYN physician who has delivered more than four thousand babies.

If one wants a true photograph of how a congressman or senator votes on conservative, constitutional issues, the best place to look is the Freedom Index in the New American Magazine. Ron Paul almost always ranks as the most conservative congressman from either chamber or either party. His current ranking is 100%, which is a score that few congressmen or senators, except Ron Paul, ever achieve. And Paul does it routinely.

See the Freedom Index here.

Ron Paul's commitment to the sanctity of human life goes beyond rhetoric. He is the man who sponsored H.R. 776, entitled the "Sanctity of Life Act of 2005." Had it passed, H.R. 776 would have recognized the personhood of all unborn babies by declaring that "human life shall be deemed to exist from conception." The bill also recognized the authority of each State to protect the lives of unborn children. In addition, H.R. 776 would have removed abortion from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, thereby nullifying the Roe v. Wade decision, and would have denied funding for abortion providers. In plain language, H.R. 776 would have ended abortion on demand. (It is more than interesting to me that none of the Religious Right's pet politicians, including George W. Bush, even bothered to support Paul's pro-life bill.)

In addition to being willing to stop the illegal alien invasion, Ron Paul is one of only a handful of congressmen that dares speak out against the emerging North American Union, NAFTA superhighway, and the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement, all of which are being promoted by the White House in concert with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Another critical issue in next year's election is the gun issue (it is always a critical issue where freedom is concerned). On this issue, Ron Paul stands atop the field. Because Paul truly supports the Constitution, he truly supports "the right of the people to keep and bear arms." Period. Should Ron Paul become President, gun owners would have the best friend they ever had.

For a comprehensive review of the presidential contenders' records on the Second Amendment, click here.

Regarding the war in Iraq and other foreign policy issues, Paul is a traditional conservative of the order of George Washington and Robert Taft. Not ignorant of military matters (he is an Air Force veteran), Paul subscribes to a historical American approach of no entanglements with foreign nations. In fact, in the area of foreign policy, Ron Paul stands alone as a traditional, constitutional, American statesman.

Unlike his neocon counterparts, Ron Paul believes in an independent America. He believes that it is not America's responsibility to police the world. He believes America's political leaders are duty-bound to protect the interests of the United States, not the interests of internationalists. Accordingly, he opposed the unprovoked and preemptive invasion of Iraq. Time has certainly vindicated Dr. Paul's principled position.

In fact, those conservatives who have followed President Bush's preemptive war doctrine are the ones who have abandoned historical conservative principles. Before G.W. Bush changed the landscape, conservatives, especially Christian conservatives, mostly subscribed to Augustine's "just war" theory regarding accepted protocols for the conduct of war. Today, however, many professing conservatives have foolishly followed Bush's "preemptive war" theory, which, before now, was practiced mostly by pagan emperors. Not so with Ron Paul. As a Christian, he still subscribes to "just war."

Of course, Ron Paul believes in protecting America from terrorists. He authored H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. According to Paul, "A letter of marque and reprisal is a constitutional tool specifically designed to give the president the authority to respond with appropriate force to those non-state actors who wage war against the United States while limiting his authority to only those responsible for the atrocities of that day. Such a limited authorization is consistent with the doctrine of just war and the practical aim of keeping Americans safe while minimizing the costs in blood and treasure of waging such an operation."

If the United States government had listened to Ron Paul, we would not have lost nearly 3,500 American soldiers and Marines, spent over $1 trillion, and gotten bogged down in an endless civil war from which there is no equitable extraction. Furthermore, had we listened to Dr. Paul, Osama bin Laden would no doubt be dead, as would most of his al-Qaeda operatives, and we would be less vulnerable to future terrorist attacks, instead of being more vulnerable, which is the case today.

And speaking of Christianity, Ron Paul's testimony is clear. He has publicly acknowledged Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. And for Paul, this is not political posturing, it is a genuine personal commitment. This is easily demonstrated by the fact that he does not wear his Christianity on his sleeve, as do so many politicians (of both parties).

Just recently, Ron Paul said these words, "I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator."

Could conservative Christians ask for a testimony that is any clearer?

Should Ron Paul win the Republican nomination, he would almost certainly win the general election. His constitutional, common-sense ideals would be attractive to such a broad range of voters, I dare say that he would win a landslide victory, no matter who the Democrats nominated. Conservatives, independents, libertarians, union members, and even some liberals (mostly those who oppose the war in Iraq and Bush's Big Brother schemes) would support Ron Paul. The challenge is winning the Republican nomination.

Face it: the big money interests, the Chamber of Commerce crowd, the international bankers and GOP hierarchy will never support Dr. Paul. He is too honest, too ethical, too constitutional, and too independent for their liking. Therefore, the only chance Ron Paul has of winning the Republican nomination is for every Christian, every conservative, and every constitutionalist within the GOP to get behind him.

Conservative Republicans have only one choice for President in 2008: Ron Paul.

Last night I wrote the following letter to my representative, emailed it and will be snail mailing a copy and calling his office today. If  you care about retaining a constitutional government for at least for your kids, please read and understand this and do the same and let others know. I will paste the actual text of the Executive Order in question after the text of my letter to Congressman Howard Coble.

Understand, this has nothing to do with your support or lack of it for the war. Look at it this way if you believe that President Bush would not actually use the power he has written for himself, many are predicting a Hillary Clinton win next year... she would have this same Executive Order to operate under, thanks to Bush. (Executive orders were originally intended for the President to help direct operation of his officers within the administration and is mentioned nowhere in the Constitution. They are now used as out of control lawmaking instruments.)

This is even worse than it sounds when you read it because of the other Executive orders and IEEPA it references. You can read them all using Google, feel free. But make no mistake, this one is worse than any I've seen.

Prayerfully, Troy

My letter (feel free to copy and edit for your own):

July 26, 2007
Howard Coble
2468 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515-3306

Dear Mr. Coble,

Thank you again for your continued service in the House of Representatives. I am sharing this information with a large constituency.

Thomas Jefferson once said "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." I am writing to you because I just learned that last week, on July 17, 2007, President George W. Bush issued an Executive order titled "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq". The text of this executive order can be found at the Internet address: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-3.html

This Executive order attempts to give the President the authority to seize any and all property of any American who publicly disagrees with his Middle East foreign policy and to do so without any recourse or due process. I believe this to be a violation of at least the First, Fourth and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States. This is the President of the United States of America issuing edict with no regard for God-given and constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Congressman Ron Paul wrote back in June of 2004 that "If the president claims extraordinary wartime powers, and we fight undeclared wars with no beginning and no end, when if ever will those extraordinary powers lapse? Since terrorism will never be eliminated completely, should all future presidents be able to act without regard to Congress or the Constitution simply by asserting, 'we're at war'?"

James Madison said at the constitutional convention "A President is impeachable if he attempts to subvert the Constitution".

Please introduce and/or support fast-track legislation to rescind this Executive order issued on July 17, 2007 relating to blocking property of those who disagree with President Bush's policy in Iraq. I believe this and other Executive orders and initiatives the President has undertaken rise to the level of at least high Crimes and Misdemeanors. He has attempted "to subvert the Constitution" therefore I believe you must consider impeachment proceedings for the President and reverse the destructive trend of the executive branch.

 Sincerely with great concern,

                Troy Perkins

Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq

..[if gte vml 1]> ..[endif]-->..[if !vml]-->Fact sheet..[endif]--> Message to the Congress of the United States Regarding International Emergency Economic Powers Act

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.)(IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)(NEA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that, due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003, and expanded in Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003, and relied upon for additional steps taken in Executive Order 13350 of July 29, 2004, and Executive Order 13364 of November 29, 2004. I hereby order:

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

(i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or

(B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people;

(ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order; or

(iii) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.

(b) The prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section include, but are not limited to, (i) the making of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order, and (ii) the receipt of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services from any such person.

Sec. 2. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Sec. 3. For purposes of this order:

(a) the term "person" means an individual or entity;

(b) the term "entity" means a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization; and

(c) the term "United States person" means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 4. I hereby determine that the making of donations of the type specified in section 203(b)(2) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(2)) by, to, or for the benefit of, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order would seriously impair my ability to deal with the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, and I hereby prohibit such donations as provided by section 1 of this order.

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government, consistent with applicable law. All agencies of the United States Government are hereby directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order and, where appropriate, to advise the Secretary of the Treasury in a timely manner of the measures taken.

Sec. 7. Nothing in this order is intended to affect the continued effectiveness of any rules, regulations, orders, licenses, or other forms of administrative action issued, taken, or continued in effect heretofore or hereafter under 31 C.F.R. chapter V, except as expressly terminated, modified, or suspended by or pursuant to this order.

Sec. 8. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right, benefit, or privilege, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers or employees, or any other person.

WHY DO EVANGELICALS IGNORE RON PAUL?

By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

February 27, 2007

NewsWithViews.com

Evangelical Christians are already beginning the process of selecting the Republican presidential candidate whom they can anoint as their successor to George W. Bush. Somehow, evangelicals have this deluded idea that President Bush is one of them. How they came to this delusion both fascinates and escapes me. Bush is anything but one of them. However, most evangelicals believe he is, and today it seems that illusion is greater than reality, anyway. Bush proves that more than anyone I have ever known. But enough about Bush.

The question burning in the minds of evangelicals today is: Which Republican candidate for president will we anoint? There are several possibilities, but apparently Congressman Ron Paul is not one of them.

For example, Jerry Falwell's widely distributed National Liberty Journal, in its March 2007 edition, had a major section entitled "Campaign 2008-Identifying the Republican Presidential Candidates." A total of ten Republicans made the Journal's list. The ten listed were Sen. Sam Brownback, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Sen. Chuck Hagel, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Rep. Duncan Hunter, Sen. John McCain, Gov. George Pataki, Gov. Mitt Romney, and Rep. Tom Tancredo.

However, even though Rep. Ron Paul has also formed a presidential exploratory committee (something Gingrich has not even done yet), his name was conspicuously absent from Falwell's list. Why is this? Why do evangelicals ignore Ron Paul?

Ron Paul received his Bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College. He received his MD from Duke University. He began his OB/GYN career in 1968. He was also an Air Force Captain and a member of the Air National Guard.

Ron Paul has served as a conservative congressman from Texas for over 16 years. He currently has a 100% rating from The Conservative Index, which is probably the most relevant and accurate reflection of a congressman's true conservative record out there.

Furthermore, unlike most Republicans, Paul's commitment to the life issue is more than rhetoric. For example, during the 2005 congressional session, Rep. Paul introduced H.R. 776, entitled the "Sanctity of Life Act of 2005."

Had it passed, H.R. 776 would have recognized the personhood of all unborn babies by declaring, "human life shall be deemed to exist from conception." The bill also recognized the authority of each State to protect the lives of unborn children. In addition, H.R. 776 would have removed abortion from the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, thereby nullifying the Roe v Wade decision, and would have denied funding for abortion providers. In plain language, H.R. 776 would have ended abortion on demand. (It is more than interesting to me that none of the evangelicals' pet politicians, including George W. Bush, even bothered to support Paul's pro-life bill.)

In addition, Ron Paul has been the most outspoken defender of constitutional government in the entire congress-bar none. He has often stood virtually alone against federal abuse of power, corruption, and big government.

Currently, Ron Paul is one of only a handful of congressmen that dares speak out against the emerging North American Union, NAFTA superhighway, and the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement, all of which are being promoted by the White House in concert with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Speaking of the CFR, two of the U.S. senators listed as presidential candidates in Jerry Falwell's Liberty Journal, Chuck Hagel and John McCain, are current members of the CFR.

For his entire political career, Ron Paul has served foursquare upon the principles of constitutional (limited) government, less taxation, right to life, and personal liberty. Ron Paul is a conservative's conservative, a principled constitutionalist of the finest order. How is it, then, that Jerry Falwell and other evangelicals ignore him?

The answer to the above question is not easy to determine. Maybe today's evangelicals are more concerned about being accepted by the GOP establishment than they are supporting principled, conservative candidates. After all, Paul's willingness to openly oppose his own party has caused him to be blacklisted by party loyalists and apologists. Therefore, it might be that our illustrious evangelical leaders are unwilling to be identified with Paul lest they share the same ostracism.

Another reason might be that today's evangelicals are extremely shallow in their discernment. They seem to love Republican candidates who wear religion on their sleeve. Whether the candidate walks the walk does not seem to matter near as much as whether he talks the talk.

Hence, evangelicals are already warming up to John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and even to Rudy Giuliani. Falwell's National Liberty Journal (NLJ) calls Gingrich "a true American statesman." McCain is called "pro-life." Already, McCain has spoken for Dr. Falwell at his Liberty University. (Don't be surprised if Falwell becomes one of McCain's strongest proponents.) The NLJ quotes Evangelicals for Mitt as saying, "Gov. Romney . . . shares our values." Of Giuliani, NLJ states, "On issues such as national security, battling terrorism and combating crime, Mr. Giuliani is very popular with conservatives."

However, the truth is, neither Gingrich, Giuliani, Romney, nor McCain deserves the support of principled conservatives. Each of these men has numerous examples of failure and compromise of essential conservative values.

Another trap evangelicals seem to fall into is the puerile desire to "pick a winner." Wanting to be sure that they are seen dancing with the last man on the floor, evangelicals are trying to figure out who that man will be so as to be ready to receive their invitation to the dance. And since they don't expect to see Ron Paul issuing dance invitations, they have already written him off.

However, rather than letting themselves be used as dupes by the GOP machine, if America's evangelicals would determine to stand on principle by supporting only those candidates who most courageously champion our principles (regardless of their popularity, or lack thereof, with the Republican hierarchy), they might actually be able to bring real change to American politics.

As it is, evangelicals continue to call George W. Bush "one of us," they continue to drink Kool Aid from the faucet of Republican propaganda, and they continue to ignore Ron Paul.

Will Ron Paul Be the Candidate of the Christian Right?

From: Lewrockwell.com - by Laurence M. Vance
by Laurence M. Vance

DIGG THIS

In the typical presidential election, conservative Christians who have some understanding of the benefits of liberty and limited government and don't blindly follow the Republican Party do one of three things: they don't vote, they "waste" their vote on a third party, or else they hold their nose, close their eyes, stop their ears, and fight a gag reflex as they vote for the Republican candidate because they consider him to be the lesser of two evils. But most of these Christians have short memories, for when the lesser evil turns out to be just as evil as the greater evil, or sometimes even worse, they generally repeat the process all over again.

The newest individual to announce that he is seeking the Republican nomination for president is Ron Paul. He formally declared his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination on March 12, 2007, when he appeared as a guest on C-SPAN.

Ron Paul is a veteran. He is a physician. He currently represents the 14th district in Texas (south of Houston) in the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat which he has held since 1997. He previously represented Texas's 22nd district in 1976 and again from 1979 to 1985. Dr. Paul was the Libertarian Party nominee for president in 1988. He is the former honorary chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus. He consistently scores a perfect 100 on The New American magazine's "Conservative Index." He has received many awards and honors during his career in Congress from organizations such as the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, Council for a Competitive Economy, and Young Americans for Freedom.

But will he be the candidate of the Christian Right? By the Christian Right's own criteria, their candidate ought to be Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is a man of faith. He is a Protestant Christian and a regular churchgoer.

Ron Paul is pro-life. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, he has delivered more than 4,000 babies. Dr. Paul is not just an opponent of partial-birth abortion; he is an opponent of abortion itself. He is also opposed to federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.

Ron Paul is a believer in family values. Unlike many Christian "leaders" and Republican politicians who have admitted to adulterous affairs and/or been married multiple times, Dr. Paul has been married to the same woman for fifty years. He and his wife have been blessed with five children and seventeen grandchildren.

Ron Paul is opposed to same-sex marriage. Although he doesn't want to strip homosexuals of their civil rights, he has voted to prohibit federal funding for the joint adoption of a child between individuals who are not related by blood or marriage.

Ron Paul is a patriot. He served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He opposes federal court jurisdiction over the question of whether the phrase "under God" should be included in the pledge of allegiance.

Ron Paul is opposed to unrestricted immigration. Because he believes that true citizenship requires cultural connections and an allegiance to the United States, he favors an end to birthright citizenship. And because he believes that it insults legal immigrants, he does not favor amnesty for illegal immigrants in any form. He opposes welfare state subsidies for illegal immigrants that alienate taxpayers and breed suspicion of immigrants. Dr. Paul also believes that all federal government business should be conducted in English.

Ron Paul is opposed to gun control. Not only does he believe that gun control makes people demonstrably less safe, he also thinks it's a myth that gun control reduces crime. Representative Paul introduced legislation in Congress that would have repealed waiting periods and instant background checks.

Ron Paul is a strict constitutionalist. He never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. He has consistently voted to lower or abolish federal taxes, spending, and regulation. Congressman Paul was recently recognized, for the tenth year in a row, as a "Taxpayer's Friend" by the National Taxpayers Union.

Ron Paul is opposed to the United Nations. He has introduced legislation to withdraw the United States from the UN. Dr. Paul believes that the UN is rife with corruption. It serves as a forum for rampant anti-Americanism. Instead of being reformed, the UN needs to be renounced. Dr. Paul is against any kind of world government or new world order.

Ron Paul is the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. He believes in absolute religious and political liberty for all Americans. He strongly supports private property rights. He believes that government exists to protect the life, liberty, and property of its citizens.

But even though he appears to live up to the usual criteria of the Christian Right, the question still remains: Will Ron Paul be the candidate of the Christian Right?

As a Christian, I admire Dr. Paul's principled stand on many issues, but I don't believe the leadership of the Christian Right will embrace him. I think they love centralization more than federalism. I think they love political power more than liberty. I think they love war more than peace. I think they love politicians more than principles. I think they love faith-based socialism more than the free market. And I think they love the state more than God Almighty.

OUR NATION'S PLIGHT: SUCH A SIMPLE SOLUTION

By Greg Evensen - July 5, 2007

NewsWithViews.com

The simple solutions are sometimes so elusive. In our day of computer created answers, the most difficult and complex issues in all of history are coming to within moments of our grasp. If we could just cut through all of the rotted timber that lies in our road. You see, without the use of a computer or a committee of Congressional experts to tell me what to do, I have naively arrived at the answers to this nation's most critical problems. All but one…..

It involves just a pinch of hypocrisy, however. You see, it involves some decisive and unilateral action. Inadvertently, I have made this REALLY difficult. Honestly, I just cannot stand the thought of one more executive order or presidential directive from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. These dictatorial decrees have nearly ruined any future this nation has left to it. But, in this exceptional case, I have asked the President to consider the following list of executive orders to be implemented as quickly as he can find his way back to the White House from his suite at the Mexican embassy.

I am serious about this request. I am confident that these "final executive orders" could and should be issued for the survival of our nation. The list is as follows:

I. Effective immediately, the Federal Reserve Act is repealed. All currency in the United States will be issued directly from the Treasury and will be in conformity with the US Constitution's mandate regarding the coining and value of the currency. The Federal Reserve, as a private bank, is to be closed immediately upon payment of the national debt.

II. The "debt" of the United States is to be paid in full with the minting of one gold coin stamped eight trillion US dollars and deposited in the US Treasury paying the Federal Reserve in full. No more debt, no more interest to pay. The US will use money and assets instead of debt and interest controlled by private bankers as a way of doing government business.

III. The 14th, 16th, and 17th amendments are suspended pending state votes that will repeal them.

IV. Eliminate all laws, mandates, programs, expenditures and taxes that have been implemented that are unconstitutional or have been put in place since the 17th amendment of 1913. Senators are returned to appointment from their state legislatures rather than elected.

V. No wars or policing actions are to be undertaken without a Congressional Declaration of War and ALL US troops returned to America from anywhere in the world. The world may deal with their problems as they see fit.

VI. All foreign aid or assistance repealed and immediately unfunded. On a case by case basis, humanitarian aid may be granted by Congress.

VII. All US borders sealed and illegal alien border jumping criminals to be deported. All immigration halted until the situation concerning entry is settled. No exceptions. All illegals remaining in the US without documentation are ineligible for ANY assistance of ANY kind ANYWHERE in the US. Without a voluntary return to their country of origin, illegals are subject to 20 years in a southern internment camp without parole. Several million incarcerated US prisoners may pick strawberries.

VIII. The United Nations organization is given six months to vacate the US. The United States will withdraw its membership and dues from the UN effective immediately and permanently. It is now a treasonous act to negotiate a North American Union type "secretive" treaty, by-pass Congress in sending troops outside the US other than to rescue US citizens held by a foreign power, or to contrive with business and banking cartels to deprive the US worker of a job opportunity sent overseas to avoid taxes or offering US citizens employment within the United States.

IX. The CIA. FBI, BATFE, IRS, DEA, Homeland Security, DIA, NSA, will all be eliminated and replaced with one organization charged with total intelligence management. All other investigative functions will be the responsibility of the states according to the needs and legality assured within the US Constitution for citizens of the various states.

X. All states will have exclusive control over their state guard units. Defense of the US will consist of one military command using ground, sea air, space, and missile assets termed the United States Defense Command.

There will be no Defense Command role within a state's jurisdiction unless attacked by hostile forces. The Pentagon would become the largest US mall.

XI. All states will maintain police forces assigned to crime prevention and safety roles in local communities without connection to or use by any national policing units controlled or created by the military.

XII. All Federal level courts/tribunals/administrative law courts are to be eliminated with the exception of the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. It is an impeachable offense to legislate from the bench or deny ANY accused individual of a fully informed jury that retains full, final, and total authority to judge both the facts and the constitutionality of the law in the jury room and render an untouchable verdict to the court as the jury demands with no exceptions.

XIII. All schools of any description and at any level shall be free from any governmental intrusion whatsoever. Local levies and tuitions shall pay for the schooling of the student's choice. School records, student privacy, non-mandated inoculations, dress, attendance, testing, grading, policy and procedures shall be the exclusive jurisdiction of the duly elected local governing board. Factual history, mathematics, language, fine arts and science shall be taught without any form of political intervention or propaganda from any source.

XIV. Taxes, tariffs, and budgetary expenditures will be implemented and appropriated with strict adherence to the US Constitution's decree concerning apportionment and the reach of taxing jurisdictions.

XV. Medicine, health care, hospital and medical certification will not exclude the use of natural medicines, therapies, procedures and research.

The FDA/Center for Disease Control is limited to non-biased research and recommendations based on the scientific method. No one connected to a pharmaceutical company may have any relationship with any medical facility or researcher except through a written chain of command that keeps a shatter proof barrier between the business aspect and medical worthiness of a proven protocol of treatment approved by a healing arts board. They are positioned only to accept or reject the viability of a regimen for patient use. Pharmaceutical companies may NOT patent natural cures.

XVI. An inventor's discovery of any energy related product may be protected and rewarded by government to provide the certainty that the discovery will in fact be used by all who choose to use it and prohibit discovery theft or non-use by industries threatened by its production. The inventor or discoverer of revolutionary materials will be awarded with its profits and rights to distribute for the good of mankind.

XVII. From this moment forward, no new executive orders or presidential directives will be issued for any reason and to do so would be grounds for immediate removal from office. The exception would be to use them as originally intended within the executive branch for the smooth operation of that branch only.

Now, there it is. Without a doubt, this would bring the United States into a position of strength and prosperity promised countless times by thousands of politicians over the past 100 years. I know the hypocrisy reeks as I told you it would. However, sometimes back-burning a forest fire is the one good way to stop it. I said at the start, I could virtually eliminate all of the most disastrous aspects of this nation's lethal present course. All but one…… The only thing I cannot recommend change for is you. Are you willing to fight for these issues and many others? Are you willing to try to bring a new approach before you no longer can even speak of it?

I have sent my letter to the President. I pray to God that he will devise something close to this and become the greatest president in the history of our nation. I hope that he has not been so far removed from what is right and best for us, that he can summon the courage to take these 17 simple orders and change history. I have also sent these to Congress in the belief that honest men and women of courage and loyalty will take up their cause as well. Could it be that Congress would beat the president to the decrees and implement law, REAL law for the sake of our children? That is where it SHOULD happen. There is not a single word here that the courts, honest and fair courts could reject.

In 1500 words, you my precious fellow citizens, have the beginning of a brand new America. Can we do it? Absolutely, yes. Will it happen? Only if you demand it, God wills it, and all who have a chance to become first class heroes face the enemy's fire and prevail.

Independence Now And Forever

by Chuck Baldwin
July 3, 2007

On this Independence Day, it behooves us to recall the principles of America's founding, especially in light of the ongoing attempt by today's political and commercial leaders to merge the United States into a hemispheric government. In fact, the clarion call for independence is just as fundamental, just as revolutionary as it was 230 years ago.
Regarding the signing of the Declaration of Independence John Adams said, "[Independence Day] will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore."

Adams went on to say, "You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory; I can see that the end is more than worth all the means, that posterity will triumph in that day's transaction, even though we should rue it, which I trust in God we shall not."

Indeed, the signers of America's Declaration of Independence endured the sacrifice of toil and blood. Pertaining to the lives of the signers, David Limbaugh writes, "Of those 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, nine died of wounds or hardships during the war. Five were captured and imprisoned, in each case with brutal treatment. Several lost wives, sons or entire families. One lost his thirteen children. Two wives were brutally treated. All were at one time or another the victims of manhunts and driven from their homes. Twelve signers had their homes completely burned. Seventeen lost everything they owned."

Yes, America's Declaration of Independence, which is our nation's birth certificate, was purchased at a very high price. Rightly did its primary author, Thomas Jefferson, invoke God's name no less than four times in the Declaration. Without God, our struggle for independence and freedom would have surely failed!

Jefferson, along with the vast majority of America's founders, knew that freedom was first the gift of God, not the accomplishment of men. He further understood that man's law must be subordinate to the natural laws of God.

Therefore, with an appeal to Heaven for the "rectitude of [their] intentions," America's Founding Fathers courageously forged a document that would put their own lives at risk, but would also change the course of history.

The question now is, "How long can we maintain our nation's independence?" The forces of global government seem to dominate both major parties in Washington, D.C., most corporate boardrooms, and most newsrooms (including the Fox News Channel).

In fact, hemispheric or regional government never had a more powerful and committed ally than President George W. Bush. Mark my words, if and when America loses its independence, it will have been G.W. Bush that led the way in making it happen. I will even be so bold as to say that G.W. Bush is the worst enemy American independence has had since old King George III of England!

Even as I write, Bush is pushing forward with his intentions to merge the United States into a trilateral government with Mexico and Canada. This is why he lobbied so intently for the just-defeated amnesty bill for illegal aliens. To George W. Bush, there is no such thing as an illegal alien, because he has already agreed to unite the three countries into one.

If the United States is going to maintain its independence and freedom much beyond the year 2010 (the year Bush's new North American Union is scheduled to be in place), it will only be because millions of freedom-loving Americans are willing to fight for it.

Both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died on July 4, 1826. Daniel Webster gave the eulogy for both men on August 2. Included in his remarks on that notable day were these words: "It [the Declaration of Independence] is my living sentiment, and by the blessing of God, it shall be my dying sentiment. Independence now, and independence forever."

To Webster's words, I say a hearty AMEN! I promise no loyalty to the North American Union, to the United Nations, or to any other brand of global government. When the day comes that I am required to submit to any form of global authority, I will be an outlaw! There is no freedom without independence, and there is no independence without eternal vigilance. To my dying breath I will say with Daniel Webster, "Independence now, and independence forever!"

Recapturing the Spirit of Independence

Ron Paul's Texas Straight Talk - A weekly Column

Ron Paul - July 2, 2007

This week Americans will gather around the grill, attend parades and watch fireworks displays, all in the celebration of the signing of our Declaration of Independence. At the same time, we will have thousands of bureaucrats, troops and agents stationed in countries across the globe being paid by American tax dollars.

On the anniversary of our declaring our own independence from the British, it is certainly appropriate that we reflect on the nature and spirit of independent nationhood. While our founding fathers were individual men in a historically unique situation, they posited that the principles upon which they rested our national independence were timeless.

If we truly honor the men who brought about Independence Day, we would do well to spend at least as much time reflecting on the Declaration of Independence, and the principles upon which it is based, as we spend at the cookouts, parades, and fireworks displays. With the trend toward globalism that has been with us for the past century, we should be specifically thoughtful about how our celebration of independence can be made consistent with the policies that have been advocated by the American government -- as well as many of the nation's elite— or what we used to call the Eastern Establishment.

I believe there is no way to square our nation's traditions and reverence for independence with the globalist policies these elites are currently pursuing. The American concept of independent nationhood inscribed in our Declaration cannot be maintained if we are going to pursue a policy that undermines the independence of other nations. National independence is an idea, and the erosion of the independence of other nations only serves to erode that idea.

At the same time, if we allow the erosion of that idea, by ignoring it in certain instances, we will be contributing to its erosion in all times and nations, even our own. In this way our nation's independence is linked with the independence of all nations. The sooner we realize this truth, and enact a foreign policy that is consistent with it, the sooner we will be able to recapture the spirit of independence.

In addition, as our founding fathers understood, the idea of national independence is inseparable from that of constitutional republicanism. Only the safe-guards and limitations that are enshrined in a constitutionally-limited republic can prohibit a nation from lurching toward empire. Recognizing these same protections is also the very best way to eliminate the need for civil wars and the violence of civil strife.

Moreover, this constitutional republicanism is essential to protecting the individual rights and self-determination that is at the heart of our Declaration. As we celebrate the 231ist anniversary of our nation's birth, I hope every person who reads or hears this will take the time to go back and read the Declaration of Independence. Only by recapturing the sp
