I have zero interest in this new GI Joe movie that is about to come out. Aside from the fact that I just don't care enough about GI Joe, I know this movie will be fucking awful. Curiosity about how they'll butcher one of my childhood memories has led me to look up what they're doing with Destro and Cobra Commander. It seems there is a screen cap of actor Christopher Eccleston with a metal head that seems pretty faithful to the cartoon Destro. I have my doubts about this being a legit screen shot, but here you go:

Now, I have not been able to find any screen shots of Joseph Gordon-Levitt (yes, the kid from Third Rock from the Sun. Sigh...) as Cobra Commander (and he's being billed as "The Doctor / Rex" on IMBD.com) but I have found package art for the action figure of Cobra Commander that will come out to support the movie and let me tell you, things don't look good. I never in a million years would have known this was supposed to be the Cobra Commander if the box didn't say so:

I know I've talked to some of you about this, but here are a few videos of some of the worst music to come out of popular music's festering shithole as of late. Truly horrible, awful trash.

Attack Attack: http://www.mtvmusic.com/attack_attack_/videos/395158/stick_stickly.jhtml

Confide:

BrokeNCYDE:

If there is only one video you watch out of all these, let it be the Attack Attack, and be sure to make it to then end, no matter how nauseous it makes you.

The animated corpse of Michael Jackson died today, realizing it could no longer hide its undeath behind further plastic surgery alterations. Jackson would have been 50 years old.

...I sang and played drums simultaneously for the first time.

It was transcendent.

And hilarious.

I must admit I'm a little let down by Silversun Pickups' second album "Swoon." It's not bad, don't get me wrong. There's some stellar tracks on it like "There's No Secrets This Year" and the "Royal We." "Panic Switch" is another great song but it suffers from a rather unfortunate and un-catchy opening. Over all "Swoon" has a great mood and I think its shining star is the vocal melodies, but where are the riffs? In the past SSPU have supplies us with amazing riffs like on "Kissing Familes," "Little Lover's So Polite," and "Lazy Eye" but where are they now? As far as the guitar work goes, all this album has to offer is power chords. This has worked for the band on songs in the past ("Melatonin") but I think it's most successful when balances with more riff oriented songs, and a whole album without Brian Aubert's amazing and catchy leads seems a bit lackluster. Hopefully we'll see them return on the band's next effort.

"Sweet imaginary Jesus!"

I think I'll start using it.

Hey folks. It's your friendly neighborhood dAHMER here to inform you about something you should keep your eyes peeled for. REBATESOFT. Look 'em up on Google. Some how they're getting a hold of peoples credit card numbers and making small purchases on them for any where from 15 cents to $7.50. How did I find out about this? Because they charged me for $5.60 on March 8th and I just found out about it. Sure, that's only a small amount, but that means they have my credit card info and that's not fucking cool.

Check your credit card statements. If you see any transactions from this company, call your bank. Inform them what has happened and they will close the account and send you a new card.

Now, we all know I do a lot of online shopping, but not with this particular card. I almost never use it, even in real life. That makes this that much scarier. So I just wanted all of you to know. Watch your shit and don't let this company rip you off. Cheers!

I've tried twice now to get this damn new MySpace 2.0 to work and both
times it sucks. Personally, I like my page the way it is but I figured
I'd try out the new thing, see if I can have fun with it, not to mention
that the "View More" button over the Sunn logo that covers my status
info annoys me.

But I digress. I tried switching over and then I remove all my code to
start from scratch but for some reason, portions of my old code are
still there. My text is grey and my old background image is still
there. Perhaps when my patience comes back I'll give it yet another
try, but for the time being I've come to the conclusion that MySpace
2.0 is GAY!

Some really great metal news came out today. First of all, Infernus of Gorgoroth won his lawsuit against former bandmates Gaahl and King of Hell over the ownership of the band name. Back in October of 2007, Gaahl and King went behind Infernus' back (the only original member of the band, mind you) and got a trademark on the name then kicked Infernus out. Thankfully the Norwegian courts saw the total bullshit in this and said that Gaahl and King's trademark was invalid and that the name belongs to Infernus. So Gorgoroth shall remain the true fucking Gorgoroth! Fuck yeah!!!

In other news, Varg Vikernes, the musician responsible for Burzum, several church burnings and the murder of Mayhem's Euronymous, will finally be released from prison after 16 years. This comes after several delays and at least one escape attempt.

Once out, Varg intends to move to a farm, spend time with his family, write some books, and make some fucking music! Luckily, since he wasn't allowed to have instruments in prison (aside from a keyboard) his musicianship probably hasn't changed much since the early 90's and anything he releases now should likely be pretty similar to his old work. Sweet!
