Whats happening before Aug 1:
An initial group of three are already HERE from the Passion base in Alpharetta, Georgia to getting a feel of university, student and worship life among Manila's churches and is conducting a series of fellowship meetings with worship and youth pastors/leaders.

CD/DVD Review
Watch out for a Passion DVD/CD review on Fish Magazine this coming August, available at National Bookstore and http://www.Shepherdsvoice.com.ph

Background
Passion Conferences was established in 1997, headed by Louie Giglio, with a desire to see a spirtual awakening in campuses around the world. Up till this time, they have been ministering to university students in the U.S., but Louie's teachings have reached many countries across the globe.

This year, the Lord has been so gracious that He paved the way and provided the resources and funds for the group to tour the world and reach out to campuses in several countries. It is an even greater blessing that Manila is part of their first World Tour.

Volunteer
In order to make these events happen, we will need volunteers who are willing to serve throughout the whole conference in various jobs. We are requiring that all volunteers be 25 years of age or older. Anyone under the age of 25 CANNOT volunteer. The reason for this is that we want students to be able to fully connect with all of the experiences at the conference. Volunteers do not pay to attend and are NOT ATTENDING THE EVENT because they are working hard behind the scenes during every part of the day serving the students attending the conference.

Accordingly, we require that all volunteers be 25 years of age or older.

As many of you know, those of you who are behind the scenes are the busiest, which usually doesn't allow for a lot of participation in the conference itself. Please come well rested, in comfortable shoes, willing to serve and knowing that there might not be time to attend the conference at all.

You will need to be at the venue to check in from 2:45-3:15PM. There will be a MANDATORY meeting at 3:30PM and you will need to be available through load out late the evening of the event.

Below are some of the roles that our Volunteer Team will participate in:

1. Registration
This team will help facilitate on-site registration and all tasks connected to check-in and ticketing process.

2. Touch
This team will act as ushers and will offer directional and informational assistance throughout the event.

3. Resource
This team will help with setup and teardown of resource area and provide customer service at the 268store throughout the event.

4. Signage
This team will help with setup and teardown of all signage for the event.

Hollywood made an unhyped direct to video movie about the most popular saint to be of all. Olivia Hussey stars. I wonder how it is because I have no access to it yet. The movie pirates don't (won't?) carry it unless its a blotched up job like that Leonardo non-sense that thank goodness Xmen 3 supplanted. Direct download the trailer here. Hey even Rick Warren (who's coming to Manila) admired Mother Theresa.

Supplanted. That's a word I seem to abuse mentally. How about you, do you abuse a word mentally too? Oh? Which word is it?

If you attended Body Balance in your local Pinoy gym (Fitness First) recently, you might have heard Sixpence None the Richer's Leigh Nash singing during the cool down session. The song "Innocente" is by the band Delerium feat. the vocals of "Kiss Me" Leigh. Someone blogged about it in the "Bodybalance blog" - stating that Leigh Nash is from Bobybalance25. It got me wondering, who is this Leigh Nash who sports the same name with our beloved Sixpence singer? It didn't take long. A few google pages later -- she's the same person! Here's the blog mentioned: http://bodybalanceflow.blogspot.com/ Her new album "Blue on Blue" is set to release August 2006. You can listen to some new songs at her myspace.

After commissioning web film shorts under the BMW Films (starring Clive Owen) years before YouTube, here's BMW's latest marketing mash-up: BMW Audio Books!
There are only a handful available (as of now,4) featuring spoken word stories commisioned just for this project. As expected -these are yarns featuring a lead and a car. Something new for your ipod/mp3 player/sansa. : ) If you're new to portable audio, just make sure you've got a good net connection as the files are really this big - even for audio. Authors featured are Don Winslow, James Flint, Simon Kernick and Karin Slaughter. Okay, I have nooo idea who they are. My reading list isn't really diverse anyway (SF, popsci, religious, catholic, thrillers, a few classics) so there's really no harm in trying. The stories? You can expect they're like James Stanley Gardner or a mini-James Bond. The BMW films were a bit like that. This should not be any different. My download's still pending because of my I-like-to-disconnect-every-5-minutes Globelines connection. Oh well - with Opera downloading ITConversations and the Crankygeeks podcast, Itunes taking care of my other podcasts and uTorrent getting my Doctor Who's -- I wonder when will this download finish?
