UPSIZEmail - next release news and competition

Hi UPSIZEmail people,

Just a bit of an update as to what we have been up to since our last show at the Front Bar at The Step Inn on Sept 11.

Great gig by the way and thanks must go to all of you regulars who keep on rocking with us as often as you can.

Your support is much appreciated by the band.

Anyhow after completing our tour of the East Coast with our mates AT, the boys decided to refocus on recording our next release. After all it has been ages since "West End Delicacy..."

The boys have a total of 10 new tracks written for the next album and have also decided to re-record three tracks from "Talk Show" as well as Pilot from "One Man Stereo".

UPSIZE hopped back into the studio recently and laid down six of the fourteen tracks and just last week the boys put the final touches to what will end up as a mighty 6 track EP of rock.

A 6 track mini album will be our next release as we cannot wait to get some of the new stuff out there. We know that some of our fans will be very happy to get their hot little hands on some of these tunes that they have been hearing live for some time.

Longtime fans will already know "Right Now" from Talk Show and "Pilot" from One Man Stereo and they will make an appearance on this new 6 track release. Both of these old tracks sound great in their new form.

The highlight for many though will be the long awaited release of some new UPSIZE tracks. The new songs are "So Dirty" our tribute to ACDC, "Make Me" our triple J hit in the making, "Hold On" Grinspoon's greatest song they never wrote and crowd favourite " Get Up And Play".

What we have ahead of us is a few sessions of mixing and then a session of mastering and then off to get it pressed.

Only problem is we haven't come up with a winning title for the sucker.
Or a cover picture/image as well.
We could name it after one of the songs or choose another title altogether.
But none of the ideas we have had so far have stuck.

NB rejected titles so far include "Radio's On The Bend" and "Casino Jesus"

Also knocked back titles include simply calling it "Hold On" or "Get Up And Play"

Who knows we may go back to one of the four titles mentioned above !!!

If you have a great idea for a title feel free to post it on facebook, myspace or simply email the band.

We may even have an UPSIZE prize pack we can give away to the first person who sends us the eventual title for the thing.

UPSIZE - Press Release for 2009 East Coast tour of Australia.

Brisbane dirty Oz rockers UPSIZE are firing on all cyclinders after a couple of local warm up gigs and are ready to grab some new converts on their first East Coast tour of Australia.

The boys have spent the last month or so locked in the studio working on their follow up to their debut long player "West End Delicacy" which is still gaining a worldwide following its release via last.fm and iTunes.

UPSIZE are now primed to bring their brand of "Dirty Oz Rock" to their fans in New South Wales and Victoria who have been begging to be UPSIZE'd for some time now.

UPSIZE will be touring with local Brisbane band AT who are also promoting their debut CD so be early if want to catch up with what the best of Brisbane rock has to offer.

Tour dates are as follows:

Hi UPSIZEmail people,

Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Just a quick update as to what is going on in UPSIZE land.

The band are part way through recording our next album with 6 tracks looking like they will be completed before we depart for our tour of South East QLD, New South Wales and Victoria.

The guys are stoked with what has been recorded so far and can't wait to record the next 6 tracks for the LP once the tour of the southern states is completed.

We may even release one of the tracks as a single on iTunes if you guys need a fix of some new UPSIZE tracks.

One of the new tracks that has been recorded is the tune "Get Up and Play".

The band has been filmed playing this tune live at the Jubilee Hotel in Brisbane and if you were jumping around at the show you may see yourselves in the vid.

UPSIZE Unleashed at the Jubilee 27/3/09

UPSIZE are back playing live as part of a series of Unleashed concerts to be held at the Jubilee Hotel in Brisbane.

After a great reception at our last gig the band are keen to continue rocking the locals with a blend of classic UPSIZE songs as well as airing some newer material for the diehard UPSIZE fans out there.

Gig Details are as follows:

UPSIZE Gig This Fri OCT 10

Hi UPSIZEmail people,

UPSIZE are performing a bit of a first for the band this coming Friday Oct 10th.

The band will be performing an acoustic set at the inner city music venue, The Hive.

The gig is also an all ages gig so some of those fans who have been itching for a dose of UPSIZE will get their wish and be able to see what all the fuss is about.

The band will be playing as a 3 piece on the night with Dave and Rick getting the night off.

Matt, Duff and Sean will don the acoustic guitars and will perform a set of current UPSIZE classics along with some rarely performed live tunes and a brand new tune that will eventually end up on the upcoming new UPSIZE album.

The Hive is located on Elizabeth St in the City and is an all ages venue.

UPSIZE gig at The Globe this Fri Aug 29

Hope this UPSIZE UPdate finds everything is going along swimmingly in your part of the world.
