Well, the weather in New York is awesome!  I wish all of you were here.  I just heard that Saturdays show is sold out, so it is gonna be a crazy night in the city!  For all of you who did not get tickets... Hartford, Ct is only a 2 hour drive!

And as if that is not enough, as I announced during my panel at Anime Expo, on August 1st at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, we will be filming the show!  That's right, we are making a DVD of the US tour, and the main show being featured will be Los Angeles.  So you might want to think about what you wear, how your hair is done, etc... cause chances are you'll be on camera at some point!  So if you want to make yourself easy to spot, break-out those day-glow pink earmuffs you bought when you were drunk, and go nuts at the show... we're looking forward to it!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

For many of you, today means seeing me, talking about VAMPS, answering your questions, at Anime Expo in Los Angeles at 7pm, room 502.  For the rest of you, it means eating hot dogs, drinking beer, and watching fireworks.  Both are great pastimes.

As promised though, I am writing to tell you about two newly added autograph sessions to VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S.A. TOUR Starting one week from today in New York City!  Here are the dates and times of the just added autograph sessions:

--Baltimore, July 16th at Sonar before the show at 2pm.

--Seattle, July 19th at Showbox at the Market before the show at 2pm.

And to give you an idea of what the show is like, we posted a new video on the inter-web and on this MySpace page... perhaps you have seen the rockin' glory that is VAMPS!?!?

Lastly, for all of you going to, or thinking of going to the show in Las Vegas, please listen-up (or read-up, no wait, that doesn't make sense, you know what I mean though).  I will soon be announcing the details about a special VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S.A. discounted hotel rate at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  If you've already reserved a hotel, you may want to check about cancelling it, because what could be better than staying in the hotel having the show!?  Not to mention the fact that the rooms are really great, and if you get there the day before the show, you can enjoy the Hard Rock's famous Sunday pool party.  The pool alone is worth it... as pools go, it is VAMPS-tastic.  Details coming next week, so stay tuned.

Since that faithful day on July 4th, 1996 when Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum defeated those genocidal aliens and saved the Earth, we have celebrated Independence day each year.  And while these annual celebrations of freedom are honored by everything from backyard Bar-B-Qs to just sitting on the couch and watching TV like any other day, we all know that the true way to celebrate our independence is by attending the Anime Expo in Los Angeles!

That's why I am pleased to announce that this forth of July, I (J) will be holding a panel at Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center from 7pm to 8pm, in LP2 room 502.  The panel will focus on VAMPS, their upcoming tour and show in Los Angeles, the truth about the Japanese music industry, and I will also be answering your burning questions.  Additionally, I will have a special VAMPS gift for attendees, more sarcasm than you can shake a stick at, and I might give-away a few tickets as well.  Finally, if there is still time, I will discuss Independence Day and the importance of alien detection technology.

So for all of you West of the Mississippi who were probably already planning to drive out to Anime Expo, now you have one more reason!  You know I will do my best to make the long drive worth it!

Hi All-

Hisashiburi (long time no see), as the kids in Japan say!  Sorry for my long absence, but as many of you know I was in Europe with MONORAL eating tapas and baguettes for several weeks.

Well, time is ticking down, and before you know it, VAMPS will be in the US!  Just after coming back from Europe, I saw VAMPS perform in Club Citta Kawasaki... F-ing awesome!  The show I saw included many songs from the new album with other HYDE favorites mixed in... no mistaking, those boys know how to put on a great show!  You will NOT be disappointed!

For those of you still not sure, here are some sexy photos online to get you excited...

About the US tour though, I want to remind you all again that I need your help!  My job is to get VAMPS doing more shows overseas, get more information in English, get the fanclub opened-up to those outside Japan, etc.  To do those things though, I need all of these US shows to be sold-out!  When the shows sell-out, then I have the power to scream, "Ho-ra" at VAMPROSE's president... "Ho-ra" is basically an obnoxious way of saying, "see, I told you!".  I usually elongate the "O" sound to make it extra-super-duper obnoxious too.  It's fun to say, so please do not deny me that pleasure.

"J, you know I will do anything, and I mean ANYTHING for you... just tell me how to help", you say?  Well, OK!  In no particular order, here are some ideas...

If you live in or near a city that VAMPS will be performing in:
1.  Get flyers from Ai Aota (who is helping promote the shows in the US), or make some yourself with original crayon pictures, etc. and take them  to Japanese restaurants, college campuses, any retail business within a mile of the venues, music stores, etc.  Let them know that if they agree to post and keep your flyers that their business name and address will be listed on our VAMPS USA forum site as a sponsor (make sure to then get their business name and address, etc.).  If that doesn't work, tell them about me and the "Ho-ra" idea!

2.  Call your local radio stations and beg them to play VAMPS.  If you find a radio station that you think would, get together with others on the VAMPS USA Forum and combine your efforts to hit that radio station until they do.  Of course let the radio station know VAMPS is coming soon and give them the concert information as well.

3.  Two words... Sandwich Board!

4.  Buy extra VAMPS tickets and create you own twisted contests to have others win them... For example, two tickets to the best cover version of LOVE ADDICT while naked and covered in shaving cream uploaded on Youtube before July1st!  I might enter that one just for fun.

5.  Have a dog!?  Three words... Dog Sandwich board!  Sorry, could not find a photo of that one oddly.

6.  Recruit others to help distribute flyers and get the word out, and get them to recruit people, and then get those people to recruit people until everyone in that city is going to the show!

For those of you who do not live in or near a city VAMPS will be performing in, you need to hit the internet... and hit it hard:
1.  Craigslist in every city VAMPS is performing, post complete tour information, with the links below, and keep posting several times a week to keep it fresh and on top... again, get together on this and help each other using the spify VAMPS USA Forum.

2.  Contact websites, blogs, fansites for ANY Japanese or rock bands and ask them to post a banner with the dates and tour information.  Creating your own banners is not only rewarding, it saves baby seals lives... don't ask me how, I am not a techie.

3.  Contact ANY US based relatable (music, Japanese culture, etc.) websites and ask them to use your awesome banner, again, let them know we will list their website on the VAMPS USA Forum... Someone create a "sponsors" section of the VAMPS USA Forum and then list them of course...

4.  MySpace attack!  Constant messages on the L'Arc MySpace page, or ANY other Japanese bands' MySpace page... preferably other Japanese bands that have been to the US before.  When you attack, please don't mention I sent you though, and maybe don't use the word "Attack!"

5.  Change the automatic signature of your email to include the tour dates, time, ticket sales links, etc.  Then send an email to everyone you know with only the word, "VAMPS-tastic"!

6.  Blog, post, "journal", and put the tour information and dates at the bottom of each message... include the number fo days left before the tour starts... adds a sense of drama!

Hi Everyone-

As you all know by now, VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S.A. tour has finally been announced!  10 shows, different cities, East and West, it’s gonna be an awesome summer!

With this new tour in the U.S.A. just announced, it is no surprise that many of you have questions.  Instead of answering you all individually, I have decided to try and answer your main concerns in this blog, and set-up a system for future questions and answers...

First, all the shows on the upcoming VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S.A. tour are ALL-AGES!  If the venues' website says otherwise I do apologize, it will be corrected sometime soon.

Second, as some of you have already noticed, the Baltimore show at Sonar on July 16th is the night before the opening of Otakon 2009.  Yes, we planned that… for those of you who were already planning to go to Otakon, now you can just go a day earlier to get to see VAMPS.  And for those going to see VAMPS, now you can check-out Otakon the next day!

Third, as many of you are planning to attend multiple shows, I caution you to buy your tickets quickly, but take your time planning your travels.  With the economy so bad at this time, hotels and airlines are giving deep, deep discounts, and even more to groups.  If possible, talk with other fans, find out who is going to the same city, double-up on hotel rooms, share rental cars, get group discounts from airlines, etc.  You can save huge money if you negotiate with hotels for a group of rooms instead of one.  Even some airlines will give discounted tickets to groups.  And if you are renting a car between shows and have an extra seat, I am sure some other fans would gladly help pay for gas if you can help them get to the next show!  For those of you who are really adventurous, you can even open your home to others who might want to see a show in your city… www.couchsurfing.com style.

For this grand tour fan community to blossom though you need an agreed upon locale that everyone can head to... and even before I could make it, a great forum was created and sent to me by a fan who obviously had this idea before me:  VAMPS LIVE 2009 U.S.A. Forum  I have already registered (although you don't need to register to post), and I will check-in to this forum from time to time... cause of course I will be going to every show.  Please let everyone else know which shows you will be going to, if you need tickets to a show, want to share a hotel, etc.

Please get out there and post the link to this VAMPS U.S.A. forum everywhere you can... teach others on your blogs, other social networking sites, random babies’ foreheads, etc.

Finally, official banners and flyers will be coming soon!  When they are released, I am hoping to see the most fantastic deployment of fan promotional participation ever!  Make me proud!  This is the year we show the world that Japanese bands need to be touring the WORLD more!  Viva la VAMPS!!!
