We haven't been on here much of late as we were each taking some time for ourselves, but I was disturbed to see what was happening to myspace in general. It seems part of the reason it has become so dead, is because of the out of control way in which bands have used it to spam people about online record releases, and multitudes of things that don't have anything to do with the people that are receiving the spam. We want to support our friends, but we have to keep things here on this space clean, so please don't post anything about your band on our page without asking us. Our Admins might approve ads from people we've worked with, but if you go stick something about a show up on our comments don't expect it to stay up longer than a day. The main reason for this, is that we want this to remain a fun place to be, since myspace can still be all about music.

We love each and every person who comes here, and gives a little bit of themselves to let us know we're doing our job in bringing a little bit of beauty to people. Anyone who can express those emotions without being a creepy stalker is ultimately cool.

Here's an example of what NOT to do:
..

"Hi... I just wanted to let you know that I love what you do... I'll just be sitting here, outside your hotel door. Don't worry... you're safe. I've haven't seen anyone on this floor in 10 hours..."

I miss you guys, see you soon,

Jon Crosby on BB6:

Earlier this year before going out on our last US tour I went into the
studio alone and recorded some songs. Somehow over the last several years the idea of making electronic music again seemed rather dull. But as Oscar Wilde once said, give someone a mask and you will see who they really are. I delayed the release of BB6 over the summer because I was not sure whether or not it should be a side project. I went away over the summer to figure some things out and came to the conclusion that BB6 is not a side project; it's an alter ego, a pen name, a moniker as you will. It is something I do completely for myself. It is a cathartic release for my demons. Ironically, it sounds more like the first VAST album than anything I have done in awhile and that's precisely what people have been asking for since I started releases pseudo folk music two years ago. One thing spending time in Seattle taught me is that I'm not content being a folk singer. The world of BB6 is dark, complex, and progressive. It is the beginning of a new direction but it is also a return to my roots. Like a blind samurai I hope to swing my guitar-sword around until I slay the beast of mediocrity.

Here is what JC has to say about the Generica series…

"We actually recorded the songs for Generica five in November of 2007. When we put out "April" we were toying with the idea of releasing it as a JCRB album because the style was such a departure from previous VAST music. But then I thought, just because the music is different that doesn't mean it has to be a side project. Plus, a side project with the same members seemed a little bizarre. As we were recording the songs that would eventually go on Generica five we planned on putting them on a VAST album. Commercially it would have made more sense because people have heard of VAST but most people have not heard of JCRB. But to me, this music isn't VAST. Around this same time, I  recorded some modern sounding electronic based music by myself in the studio. It's what I think a lot of people have been waiting for. I took a detour in Austin Texas over the last two years into the folk-singer songwriter zone but now that chapter of my life is done and I am moving into a new direction.

The process of writing, recording and releasing these songs has been an apocalypse for me. Now I am ready to leave Austin and put the acoustic guitar down for awhile. I hope the music can heal you the way it has healed me. I think we saved the best for last. Thank you for listening. Take care. Sayonara."
