Erin and I have been doing some serious "research" into trying out some industrial dance/80's-esque dance stuff. Gotta say - this stuff is not only awesome in terms of recording because it requires so little, but it is totally beat driven and really doesn't require a drummer (that is the best part) - in fact, it doesn't really require much of anything.
On another note, the new drummer Ben for ERP is way cool. He is consistent, he is so laid back, has an opinion but is also interested in doing the music for the sake of the music - which is a breath of fresh air. So I had to resign our previous drummer (affectionately called "Dick Liss") the greatest beat machine ever.
I don't normally mention the weather on my blog, but since it has basically converted over to the Pacific Northwest here, I felt it was noteworthy. It has rained like a MOFO... the lightning this a.m. was crazy. It was like stepping into some whacked out version of "Storm Stories" on the weather channel.
I posted a recent picture of ERP on their site and I think it speaks volumes. Ha!

Original Article From pennlive.com"So Electrostatic Rhythm Pigs clearly wins the prize for one of the most creatively named bands at MMC this year. This girl-fronted indie rock trio is based in Allentown, and their tunes, while fairly straightforward, are super tight. Vocalist Erin Fowler has a Grace Slick vibe about her, and the melodic bass and guitar lines by D.W. Pickman and Bret Talbert's driving rhythms create a unique, mod-sounding stew of sound. Recommended tunes: 'Green Eyes' or 'Big Sky.' " It was a great show for us to play - had a great time and the sound guys were awesome (Thanks to The Illuminati and MMC!!).

The Musis Conference was really cool - had some last minute SNAFU's but other than that, it was actually nice to play to a receptive audience. I got some cool photos of the gig that I am going to put up soon, for once we look like we are having fun and not just trying to suffer through the show. I have to say that was the best laid out gig yet. No sound issues (for the most part), great bands, decent crowd, not a super long set... was worth the drive out to Harrisburg for sure. In the mean time, have been trying to think of something local and then try to line something up maybe near Lancaster. Can't wait for Spring to get here, but all in good time.

Well it seems that for whatever reason, we have been getting some really good feedback from various peoples and artists and I just wanted to put in a simple little "thanks be to the music gods", that it seems we are finally able to network with some really cool musicians, really cool local groups, and most importantly get some decent ideas for gigs locally and otherwise. It is nice to finally see that there are others out there looking to just do what they love - music. Ain't it grand?

Well we interviewed a guitarist (SHE seems pretty cool and is LEFT handed). I am sincerely hoping she is interested but if not, I suppose it is posting another add and seeing where it leads. It is nice to network with other musicians and at the very least meet new people. I am always up for that. Still seeing where we can get some decent gigs... won't be hearing from South By Southwest until probably January and probably won't know anything about the Harrisburg festival until the same time, so I suppose it is the old "hurry up to wait" thing.
Still working on new material - I can't believe how easily writing new stuff has been lately, sometimes it seems like the creativity literally dries up. Another winter... *shivers* getting dark at like 4:30 sucks.

Apparently finding a guitarist is next to impossible, so if someone wants to try out, great, if not, well then a trio it is. That being said, I suppose it is the trio (damn I am optimistic).
We are going to officially contact The Chameleon and see when we can get booked - dare I say, IF we get booked. Form there I think there are some venues in New Hope and a couple of other places. FINALLY got the electronic press kit complete, which is a relief. I guess it is time to hit the sack, and start the number crunching again tomorrow. Reality does in fact BITE. *chomp*

It has been enitrely too long since I have posted... sorry. Well, Electrostatic Rhythm Pigs have gotten some demos together which I posted here. Please listen and see what you think. We are looking to start getting some gigs in, but haven't really pursued it too heavily as we have been hibernating in the studio, getting press packets together for the upcoming South By Southwest festival in Austin. I have also done some serious edits to my label site and will be posting ALL of my mp3 files for Conduit's stuff, and Electrostatic Rythym Pigs stuff. Well, back to the grind.

Well, we are all back in the studio recording more stuff and trying to get things finalized on the newer stuff. The Leithsville Inn was a great place to play, the owner John was great. I am happy to report that we will be playing there again... at any rate, glad it is getting warmer out and the garden will be growing. Mmmmm - hot peppers. *drool*

We added some new songs to the set list for the gig on the 28th, and have been throwing around new band names. It appears that Superior Olive is taken by a band on the West coast and Conduit has also been taken, so I am guessing that we will no doubt use one name for the live band and one name for the studio band.
Finally got the studio PC memory upgraded and all new recording software installed (actually same programs just the newest versions). Looks like things are moving steadily toward getting more gigs for places wanting to front Originals, and we already have another gig lined up for May 4.
Still looking for doing a double-bill with Trap Door this summer, so will keep all of you posted.
