The second half of the year is going to be busy, busy, busy for Mr Kennedy as he tours Down Under during the month of August, then back to the mainland UK in September before finally returning to Ireland for what has become a traditional December tour. If he's passing within your hemisphere, why not give yourself a treat and get along to a show?

Please visit Brian's official website for further details of the tour dates and how to get tickets.

Brian will be making an appearance on BBC2's Songs of Praise programme this coming Sunday, 28th January.

"Gloria Hunniford returns to her native Northern Ireland to explore the natural beauties of the Strangford Lough area, meeting people and communities who live and work along its shores".

Among those appearing are English schoolgirl group, All Angels and "Irish heartthrob Brian Kennedy". Tune in between 18:05-18:40 to find out what he will be singing.

For those of you unable to get BBC2 from wherever you may be in the world, I am sure it will find its way onto Youtube.com at some point so don't forget to keep checking there.

If you're lucky enough to live in Ireland, tune in to RTE2 (Radio Telefis Éireann, see Wiki for satellite transmission details - I don't have a clue about these things!) on Tuesday 7th November at 22.55 to see Brian appearing at Ballydung Manor, home to those two lovable rogues, Podge and Rodge. Our best wishes go out to Brian for his forthcoming ordeal.. er... appearance. I hope Podge and Rodge go easy on you! Well, there's a first time for everything, I guess.

For those of you unfamiliar with these two gorgeous redheads, take a look at the clip below for an idea of what Brian might be letting himself in for. (Warning: Not for the easily offended! )

It's always a pleasure to promote good music, especially when it's by someone with some sort of connection to Brian, in this case fellow Curb Records artist and friend, Don Mescall. Those lovely people at www.donmescall.com have very kindly offered Brian's friends a chance to win a pair of tickets to a concert of their choice on Don's forthcoming tour of Ireland and the UK. The details are given below:

Don Mescall, who has opened shows for Brian on the past couple of tours, is about to set off on a headline tour of Ireland and the UK and we've got hold of THREE pairs of tickets to give away to Brian's friends!

For the chance to win a pair of tickets to your choice of gig, just send your answer to the following question, with full name, postal address and contact telephone number to don@donmescall.com by midnight on Friday (3rd Nov).

Q: Which song from Brian's current album, Homebird, was written by Don Mescall?

(Hint: see "Discography" at www.donmescall.com  for the answer!)

Don's songs have been recorded by many other artists, including Frances Black, Ritchie Havens, Ronan Keating/Kate Rusby, Eleanor Shanley, Lulu etc.

To check out Don's live music and videos, hop to www.myspace.com/donmescall

There seem to be some ongoing problems with the Music Players on lots of MySpace profiles at the moment, which technical support are looking into. Ever since the latest tracks were uploaded, the status permanently says 'Connecting...' and never starts buffering or playing. Guess we'll have to wait until the MySpace techies sort it out. Sorry.

For those who don't have access to RTE1 to see Brian's show "1 to Remember", video clips are starting to find their way onto YouTube.com. Check out the two video clips below for starters. Very different versions of classic songs, I'm sure you'll agree! A shame that the audio and video aren't quite in synch but it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

There are quite a few video clips of Brian on YouTube so have a wee look while you're there.

Brian this week received an honorary degree from the University of Ulster. He accepted the title of DLitt (Litterarum Doctor, Doctor of Letters) at a ceremony at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, where he delighted the audience with a song during his acceptance speech. Visit www.ulster.ac.uk to hear more.

Congratulations, Brian!

Watch the video below to see and hear Brian singing the future single "If you don't believe in me", followed by the anthemic "You raise me up".

And if that inspires you to see the real thing, why not come along and see Brian in concert at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th or 15th July...?
