red love seattle trip
John Stone and his woman on the troll.
Shawnis was there.
hadn't seen these fools in ages. I flew up to seattle from sf. we met here at the troll.
chino
Bean showed up late with a mustache and plenty of tales from his summer west coast ramblings.
me...
John and his girlfriend got us a free place to stay in a church. much spiritual partying occurred.
priest bean
the last night I was there we went out late in search of Kurt Cobain's house.
we got kinda lost.
we finally found the bench where he was last seen alive.
I said goodbye to the red love in downtown seattle. i had to kill some time before my flight back to san francisco so i wandered around the town a bit.
r>
found some street art. it was 3 am and really cold. I was running from bums.
i got on the plane at 6am and was back in SF by 10am.

pt.4 california
we made it to davis, ca late in the night and met up with our long time red love friend jason moorepants. Robby Scarce also flew in from VA to be with us taking time from his busy
rock n roll
schedule. Jason is in school here and he loves bikes. Here he is on his self fashioned tall one.
Davis
is known as an environmentally conscious university and bicycle town. Everyone rides bikes, the town is planned around the bicycle. This is Jason's friend and our new acquaintance Robby. He had a great little trailer for our party supplies.
On our 2nd night there we got invited to a party at "The Domes", an on campus commune with dome shaped housing and gardens all around. Jason had enough bikes around for us all to cruise to the party in style. Here's Bean and John on the tandem. He played and sang John's song country holler on the way.
The night was epic with home grown food, good music, plenty of beer and a late night air clad bike ride around town with our new friends.
The next day we headed down to San Francisco. Such a beautiful city! This is a view from Sausalito across the bay.
Red Love in SF
The next day we went to
Mt. Tamalpais
.
and then to the beach in
bolinas
.
yeah lots of photos for your eyes. more to come!

across america pt. 3
after driving all through the colorado and utah night morning came and we found ourselves in the dry utah mountains. we spent a little time in salt lake city and saw the mormon tabernacle as well as a bunch of other mormon stuff. i spent some time skating around the streets getting my sleep deprived body good and sweaty. after seeing the town we got back in the car that we rented in denver and drove onward towards the west.
we got out at the great salt lake to take a dip.
we soon discovered that it was only 2 ft. deep for miles and miles. it was disgusting with dead flies floating every where not to mention that it was also hotter than hell.
the sides of the lake were covered in nasty flies and bird skeletons.
we left the salt lake and headed on into the salt flats. we drove our 4 wheel drive vehicle off the road and played on the flats for a while. it made us all ridiculously happy.
especially john stone.
Bean was going crazy driving 90.
we eventually lost control and just let the car drive itself. we sat on top and drank beer.
god bless america
after writing red love with the car in cursive into the flats we headed back to the road. we were almost there when the tires got so caked in salt that we got stuck.
we finally got it unstuck after some miscommunications and we had to leave john, shawn and brent a ways behind to walk back to the highway.
johns feet.
we stopped and jammed at a rest area.
brent was drooling all over himself going through the hot deserts of nevada.
thunder mountain
- a native american sculpture and protest piece.
we made a stop in winemucca, nevada as well. it's got to be one of the dustiest most western looking towns in the states. johnny cash sings about it in his I've been everywhere song.
we made it to California finally after many many hours crammed in the car driving across the sun drenched deserts of nevada. I was sunburnt, sleepy, hungry, and drunk. It was great!
